(Minghui.org) I am 70 years old and live in Qianxi County, Tangshan City, Hebei Province. Due to decades of living under the communist rule, I was deeply poisoned by the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) propaganda and believed that the CCP was always right. In the decades of my working life, I followed the CCP without thinking. I could not accept anything other than the Party culture and rejected all other things without thinking. I had encountered many Falun Gong practitioners over years, and they told me numerous times that Falun Gong is good and that the persecution of Falun Gong is wrong. However, I not only did not listen to them, but also verbally abused and assaulted them. Then, one day, the facts were presented before me, and I awakened to the truth.
One evening in the early winter of last year I strolled around outside. I walked to the roadside bicycle repair stand out of habit. I saw a bike at the stand that had a severely deformed front wheel. It obviously had been hit by a car, but neither party involved in the accident was present at the repair stand. I was curious and asked the repairman: “This bike is damaged so badly. Where is its owner?” The repairman said with a tone of admiration, “The victim let the people who had caused the accident go. She went home to get money to repair the bike.”
The repairman then added: “A lot of people nowadays wish they could be hit, so that they could squeeze some money from others. Falun Gong practitioners are really different. Those two young men who caused the accident are really lucky that they met a good person. If I did not see it with my own eyes, I wouldn't dare to believe that such good people still existed in society nowadays.” I was very touched upon hearing this.
While we were talking, the owner of the bike came back. She was a 50-year-old woman. She had difficulty walking and limped. She obviously had been hit hard. When she walked closer, I recognized her. We knew each other, and I had treated her badly in the past. Suddenly, I became confused. I did not know who to believe. The Falun Gong practitioner in front of me was so different from the Falun Gong practitioners portrayed by the CCP's propaganda.
She greeted me with smile before I could even get my thoughts straight. She was very kind and talked to me in a friendly way. I could not see the slightest resentment in her. It was as if I had never treated her badly. This made me very uncomfortable.
I used to work at a local residential committee. On one morning two years ago, while I was directing two persons to get rid of Falun Gong truth-clarification banners on electricity poles in our area, this Falun Gong practitioner came over and persuaded the two persons not to destroy the banners. She said that by removing them, the staff would be doing a bad deed, so it would not be good for them. Seeing this, I quickly came over and stood in front of her. I scolded her loudly and pulled out a cell phone to call the police to report her. She said to me calmly: “You must not do this. This does not only harm me, but also harms you. You should do things not only for yourself, but also for the sake of your and your family's future.” I did not understand Falun Gong at that time. My mind was filled with communist propaganda, so I could not understand her words and did not let her talk further. Finally, she had no choice but to say: “This is really for your own good. If you really do not want to listen, then I cannot do anything.” Then she left.
When we met at the bike repair stand, I am sure she must have seen how embarrassed I was. She treated me like a friend. She asked about my health and work. We talked very congenially and were friendly.
Naturally, our conversation progressed to Falun Gong. She told me the miraculous changes that happened to many Falun Gong practitioners and the truth about the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong. Finally, she said to me in a well-intentioned but serious tone: “You should not do those bad things to harm to Falun Gong. I sincerely hope that you and your family have good health and a better future.” My heart was touched. I knew that she said those words truly out of concern for me. I could see that she is the kind of person who does not expect any reward when doing good things for others. I realized that the CCP's slanderous propaganda about Falun Gong was completely false and in sharp contrast to the reality of Falun Gong practitioners. I was too ashamed to say anything.
I apologized for the incident of two years ago. She smiled and said that it had passed by, so there was no need to think about it anymore, and that it was good that I now understood the truth about Falun Gong. In fact, I had been one of the victims of the CCP's lies.
Falun Gong practitioners have demonstrated tolerance, generosity, kindness, and selfless character. I am completed convinced that Falun Gong is good. I will never believe the lies of the CCP or do anything to harm Falun Gong practitioners again. I will always remember that "Falun Dafa is good" and "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good." I want to sincerely advise those who still believe the CCP's lies to quickly wake up: Do not wait too long, or when the retribution comes, you will regret it.
