(Minghui.org) Police from the Houzaimen Police Station arrested Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Xie Lihua in the afternoon on February 15, 2012 when she was passing out truth clarifying materials in the Houzaimen area. Ms. Xie was transported to the Nanjing Detention Center the next day. She was arrested on March 7, 2012, by officers from the Baixia and Xuanwu District 610 Office and taken to a brainwashing center established by the Nanjing 610 Office.
Ms. Xie was determined not to cooperate and so she was sent to the Nanjing Detention Center again on the afternoon of June 29. She was sentenced to one year of forced labor without a trial. Ms. Xie's family found a lawyer to represent her. The lawyer asked the forced labor camp for the written documents of the sentencing. The Xuanwu district continues to refuse to give Ms. Xie's sentencing document to the lawyer. Ms. Xie's lawyer said what the office is doing is against the law and the sentence can be revoked once he received her documents.
Ms. Xie Lihu is a very kind person who likes to help others. After she started to practice Falun Gong, she lived by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and put other's needs before hers.
Ms. Xie has been constantly persecuted by the CC because she persisted in practicing cultivation. Ms. Xie has served three terms at a forced labor camp and she was sent to a brainwashing center at least twice. Because she would not renounce her faith, she suffered all sorts of cruel tortures. At the Jiangsu Forced Labor Camp for Women, she was beaten and shocked with four or five electric batons at the same time. The guards stripped off her cloths and shocked her back with electric batons. They made her stand on the electric batons and shocked her. Ms. Xie suffered tremendously. She stood firm in her belief and refused to be “transformed,” so she had to serve four extra months and suffer all sorts of abuse. The guards made her stand still for a very long period of time. She was not allowed to use the toilet and many times she had to relieve herself in her pants. She was often ordered to clean the toilet but was not allowed to use the bathroom. She was deprived of sleep and not allowed to sleep until way past midnight every night. Sometimes she slept for only an hour. Prison guard Zhou Ying, instructed drug addicts Wang Li, Guo Hongmei and others, to force-feed Ms. Xie with concentrated salt solution. Inmates Xu Min and Zhang Na would often lift Ms. Xie up into the air and then drop her on the ground and step on her lower body. One time she ran out of her cell and shouted for help while Xu Min was beating her. Out of fear of offending other inmates, the labor camp transferred Xu Min to another cell. The labor camp extended Ms. Xie's term by one month using the erroneous reason that the shouting damaged her group's reputation.
Ms. Xie's family is worried about her. Her husband had to leave home and do odd jobs in another city and is under a great amount of stress. Their ten-year-old daughter is with Ms. Xie's mother who is worse off. Ms. Xie's mother is heartbroken.
Ms. Xie Lihua is law abiding. She was arrested and detained just because she practices Falun Gong. The provision of the Article 35 of the Constitution states that a citizen of the People's Republic of China enjoys the freedom of speech, the press, of assembly, to join organization, to parade and demonstrate. The Falun Dafa practitioners that are making and distributing reading materials about Falun Gong to expose the facts of the persecution are acting reasonably and lawfully. Ms. Xie Lihua and many other Falun Gong practitioners should receive protection from the Chinese Constitution, not be sent to forced labor camps.
