(Minghui.org) From 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on July 20, 2012, Falun Gong practitioners held a rally in front of the Chinese Consulate to protest the Chinese Communist Party’s persecution. Their banners read: “Stop the Persecution of Falun Gong,” “Falun Dafa,” “The CCP Harvests Organs from the Living,” and “Bring Perpetrators Jiang Zemin, Luo Gan, Liu Jing, and Zhou Yongkang to Justice.”
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) initiated the brutal persecution of Falun Gong on July 20, 1999. During the past 13 years, Falun Gong practitioners in Houston have held many peaceful protests in front of the Chinese Consulate to expose CCP’s persecution and explain the facts to passersby, local residents, and Chinese people coming to the consulate on business.

Erin French, her baby in her arms, was one of the participants. Her family just moved from New Jersey to Houston. She said, “I have practiced Falun Gong for 11 years. Falun Gong is great. The CCP has persecuted Falun Gong for 13 years. I stand here today to call for an end to the persecution.”
Helen shared her experience: “I started practicing Falun Gong after the persecution began. Before then, there were many positive reports about Falun Gong in China, but I did not pay any attention to them because there were many schools of Qigong. Falun Gong caught my attention after the CCP initiated the persecution. Then I started to learn about Falun Gong.”
She continued, “In 2000, I went to Canada. I read the Epoch Times and saw a lot of articles about Falun Gong practitioners exposing the persecution. I understood the reason for the persecution was the CCP's fear of the large number of practitioners and fear of Truth-Compassion-Forbearance.
“Before practicing Falun Gong, I had heart disease and an irregular heartbeat. I could not work hard and my child was small. I was frustrated and had lost confidence in life. I decided to try Falun Gong, but I did not have any big hopes for it. After practicing, my irregular heart beat became regular. Following Truth-Compassion-Forbearance in my daily life, I became happy at work and at home.”
Ms. Huang also shared her experience: “I started practicing Falun Gong before July 20, 1999. The reason I took it up was because I saw the marvelous effects of Falun Gong in healing illnesses that hospitals cannot treat. I was a doctor, but I had a gynecological problem—severe cervical erosion. I decided to try Falun Gong. After practicing, it was gone.”
She continued, “The CCP initiated the brutal persecution of Falun Gong on July 20, 1999. The CCP’s lies in the media mislead many people. Because I have benefited from Falun Gong, I want to speak out. Falun Gong has spread across the world during the past 13 years. Practicing Falun Gong is free in all countries, but banned in China. I come to the rally to call for support to stop the persecution of Falun Gong.”
