(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Guiquan from Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province, was illegally arrested by plainclothes policemen waiting for him in front of his residence on the morning of June 14. Others residents saw what was going on and gathered to help him, surrounding the police and asking them why they were arresting Mr. Wang. His relatives also steadfastly and fearlessly demanded that the police release him. As a result, he was released that same night.
The Details
At around 5 a.m. on June 14, 2012, Mr. Wang Guiquan was about to drive to work as usual from his home in the Mingcheng Garden Residential Community, Zhangpu Town, Kunshan City. As he left his residence, he saw a dark green pickup truck with no license plate blocking his car. As he walked up to his car, about five strong men rushed up to him, grabbed and twisted his arms behind his back, and handcuffed him. They then started to drag him towards the pickup truck.
Realizing that he was being abducted, Mr. Wang started to yell for help. One of his abductors quickly covered Mr. Wang's mouth with his hand to prevent him from shouting. At that time, other residents of Mingcheng Gardens saw these thugs with a truck with no license plate trying to abduct someone in their own community in broad daylight. They all shouted for help, alerting other neighbors, who all approached the thugs, demanding to know, “Who are you? Why are you abducting this man?” The men, who claimed to be plainclothes police officers from the 'anti-mob' team of the Zhangpu Police Station, pushed Mr. Wang into the pickup truck while replying to the neighbors.
Back inside, Mr. Wang's wife, Ms. Lu Linfang, heard the shouts of her husband and neighbors and rushed downstairs. Without ever showing any identification, they took Mr. Wang away.
While Mr. Wang's family was still recovering from the shock of his abduction so early in the morning, officers from the police station and the Kunshan City Domestic Security Division showed up to ransack their home. They didn't find anything they were looking for.
This was the fifth time that Mr. Wang had been arrested. His relatives and friends were extremely angry about it, so they went to the Zhangpu Police Station together to demand his release. Upon arriving, they found out that, due to fear, the police had transferred Mr. Wang to the Qiandeng Town Police Station. Mr. Wang's relatives and friends didn't give up and rushed the several miles to Qiandeng Town Police Station. They had brought with them a lunch for Mr. Wang, but the officers there did not allow him to have lunch. Mr. Wang's relatives and friends clarified the facts and put forward a strong and fair argument for Mr. Wang's release. The police had no defense, so they reluctantly released Mr. Wang at 9:30 p.m.
