Additional Persecution News from China – May 30, 2012 (30 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 22 cities or counties in 12 provinces. According this report, 19 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 18 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Lawyer Mr. Wang Yonghang in Critical Condition in Dabei Prison

Lawyer Mr. Wang Yonghang was illegally sentenced to 7 years in prison for entering a non-guilty plea in court for Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Cong Rixu. Mr. Wang has been held in the Dabei Prison in Shenyang City, where he has been tortured and abused. He suffers from severe tuberculosis, pleural effusion and ascites. His life is in danger.

2. [Shandong Province] Mr. Li Yitang Held in Wangcun Men's No. 2 Forced Labor Camp

Mr. Li Yitang was arrested on the afternoon of May 3, 2012. He is currently held in the Wangcun Men's No. 2 Forced Labor Camp.

3. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Mr. Zuo Shougang in Critical Condition As a Result of Severe Physical Abuse in Jidong Prison

Mr. Zuo Shougang from Fengyingzi Village has developed symptoms of advanced cirrhosis as a result of severe physical abuse and mistreatment in Jidong Prison of Tangshan City. He is currently in the prison's hospital. His life is in danger.

4. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Guifang Sentenced to Forced Labor

Ms. Li Guifang, in her 50s, is from the Wuyang Residential area in Chengde City. She was arrested on May 3, 2012. Ms. Li was taken to the Kaiping Forced Labor Camp in Tangshan on May 10, 2012, and then transferred to the Hebei Women's Forced Labor Camp in Shijiazhuang City for a one-year term. Her family was only informed about her forced labor sentence on May 14, 2012.

After Ms. Li's arrest, officer Liu Mingcheng and others from the Shuangqiao District Domestic Security Division, as well as officers from the Qiaodong District Police Station, ransacked Ms. Li's home. They confiscated her computer, printer, cell phone, Falun Gong books and other personal belongings.

5. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Tang Xiulian Arrested

Eleven police officers from Dianliu New Village broke into Ms. Tang Xiulian's home on May 22, 2012. They confiscated informational CDs about Falun Gong and other personal belongings and took Ms. Tang to the police station. Ms. Tang was released at 6 p.m. the same day.

6. [Tongnan County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Chen Yuanxiu Arrested

Officers from the Guanghui Police Station arrested Ms. Chen Yuanxiu on the evening of May 26, 2012, in the Jiujiang District, Shuangliu County. The police took Ms. Chen back to Tongnan County on May 27, 2012.

7. [Chongqing] Ms. Cheng Shiping Held in Brainwashing Center

Ms. Cheng Shiping is being held in the Wangxiangtai Brainwashing Center in the Yubei District.

8. [Linqu County, Shanxi Province] Mr. Li Laidou's Home Ransacked; Ms. Wang Shimin Arrested

Officers from the Yanjiazhuang Police Station ransacked Mr. Li Laidou's home on May 19, 2012. Mr. Li was able to escape.

Linqu County 610 Office agents broke into Ms. Wang Shimin's home in Beima Village, Beixin Township, on May 22, 2012. They confiscated Falun Gong books and a notebook computer. Ms. Wang was taken to the 610 Office on May 23, 2012, but released that same evening.

9. [Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Liu Chunhong Arrested

Ms. Liu Chunhong was arrested on the morning of May 28, 2012.

10. [Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Qiu Forced to Live Away from Home to Avoid Arrest

Officers from the Handian Town Police Station arrested Ms. Zhou Yaru on the afternoon of May 27, 2012.

They also went to Ms. Li Qiu's home, but she was not there. The police confiscated her computer and printer. They returned to Ms. Li's home around 11 p.m., but still could not find her. They proceeded to search Ms. Li's brother's home, and confiscated an image of the founder of Falun Gong. Ms. Li has been forced to stay away from home to avoid being arrested.

Ms. Wang Shuxiu was arrested on May 23, 2012.

12. [Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Li Haiyan and His Mother Arrested

Mr. Li Haiyan and his mother were arrested on the afternoon of May 29, 2012, at his mother's home.

13. [Chongqing] Ms. Liu Zhonglan and Her Daughter Arrested

Ms. Liu Zhonglan, 74, and her daughter Ms. Tian Mei, 51, from the Wanzhou District were arrested on the morning of May 28, 2012, as they distributed informational materials about Falun Gong in Jiuchi Township. The township police took them to the police station and threatened them. The police sent Ms. Liu back home that same afternoon. Ms. Tian was taken to the Zhoujiaba Detention Center.

14. [Jiayu County, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhang Qingwen Arrested

Officers from the Jiayu County Police Department and the Dupu Town Police Station broke into Ms. Zhang Qingwen's home on the afternoon of May 28, 2012. They confiscated her computer and printer before taking her to the Jiayu County Domestic Security Division.

15. [Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Lu Yingchun Arrested

Ms. Lu Yingchun from Haolianghe Town was arrested on the afternoon of May 29, 2012. Nancha 610 Office head Wang Yuhui made the arrest.

16. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Meijiang District 610 Office Agents Attempt to Arrest Ms. Fu Xuebing

Three agents, including Xue Qingwen from the Meijiang District 610 Office, broke into Ms. Fu Xuebing's home and searched it. Ms. Fu was able to escape with her 6-month-old daughter.

The police agents confiscated Ms. Fu's computer, two cell phones, an MP4 player and Falun Gong books. They have also recently followed Ms. Fu's family members.

17. [Shanghai] Ms. Zhu Yuanzhu Held in Qingpu Detention Center

Ms. Zhu Yuanzhu from Sijing Town, Songjiang District, was arrested on the morning of May 25, 2012, as she spoke to a plainclothes police officer, who she thought was a customer, and gave him an informational CD about Falun Gong. Ms. Zhu's home was ransacked, and her computer, printer, Falun Gong books, an image of the founder of Falun Gong and other personal belongings were confiscated. Ms. Zhu is currently held in the Qingpu Detention Center.

18. [Dingxing County, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhang Jian Arrested

Seven plainclothes officers from the Dingxing County 610 Office and Domestic Security Division broke into Mr. Zhang Jian's home and ransacked it. They confiscated his computer, TV set, printer, CDs and other personal belongings. Mr. Zhang was arrested and is currently held in the Dingxing County Detention Center.

19. [Ning'an City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Fengyu Held in Ning'an City Detention Center

Ms. Li Fengyu was arrested on May 6, 2012 as she distributed informational materials about Falun Gong. She is currently in the Ning'an City Detention Center.

20. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Yin Arrested

Ms. Yin was arrested on the afternoon of May 29, 2012. Her cell phone was confiscated.

21. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhu Shuzhen Held in Jilin Detention Center

Ms. Zhu Shuzhen from the Chuanying District was arrested at noon on May 26, 2012, as she distributed Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs. Zhou Jun from the Dongjuzi Police Station took her to the police station and then sent her to the Jilin City Detention Center on the same afternoon.

22. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Lianzhen Detained

Ms. Li Lianzhen, 65, and her husband, Mr. Li Hongqin, 68, are from Shengli Village, Gonghe Town, Meilisi District. They were arrested on the morning of May 24, 2012, and taken to the Gonghe Police Station. Mr. Li was released that same afternoon, but Ms. Li was transferred to the Meilisi Police Department.

Police officers Gu Zhijun and Wang Wenge came to the couple's home on the morning of May 25, 2012, and confiscated their satellite dish. Ms. Li was sent to the Qiqihar City No.1 Detention Center that same afternoon.

23. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Zhou Guofang Held in Brainwashing Center

Ms. Zhou Guofang, 68, was arrested and taken to the Pukou District Brainwashing Center in early April. She has been detained in the brainwashing center for over a month and still hasn't been released.

24. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Zhuyun and Ms. Hao Lianqin Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Wang Zhuyun and Ms. Hao Lianqin were illegally sentenced to 8 years and 7 years of imprisonment, respectively.

25. [Shenze County, Hebei Province] Ms. Song Xilian and Ms. Yang Jingfen Held in Brainwashing Center

Ms. Song Xilian and Ms. Yang Jingfen from Xiaozhiyao Village were arrested on the morning of May 29, 2012, as they spoke with people in Anguo County about Falun Gong and the persecution. Officers from the Loudi Police Station made the arrest and took them to the Baizhuang Township Police Station. The police ransacked the practitioners' homes and confiscated their Falun Gong books and the images of the founder of Falun Gong. The two practitioners are currently held in the Shijiazhuang Brainwashing Center.

26. [Nanchong City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yu Jinhua Arrested; Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Yu Jinhua from the Jialing District was arrested on May 14, 2012, as she distributed informational materials about Falun Gong in Lidu Town. Her whereabouts are unknown.

27. [Quyang County, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhao Chunpeng Harassed

Hengzhou Town Elementary School principal Meng Xianghong, deputy principal Zhang Fenxiao, and Daxiwang Elementary School principal Tian Shaohui harassed Daxiwang Elementary School teacher Mr. Zhao Chunpeng. They attempted to make Mr. Zhao to go to Baoding on May 23, 2012, for brainwashing.

28. [Shanghai] Tilanqiao Prison Guards Abuse Falun Gong Practitioners

Tilanqiao Prison Team Lead Tang Min often stomps on practitioners and beats them with two electric batons. Tang Min shocked Mr. Lu Weidong from Hongkou District daily for several consecutive days.

Mr. Liu Peng was sentenced to 5 years in prison in 2008 and has been held in the Tilanqiao Prison. Mr. Liu was transferred from Ward No. 2 to Ward No. 6 in June 2010. The guards have shocked him with electric batons. They also instructed criminal inmates to make Mr. Liu wear earphones and to play segments slandering Falun Gong at the highest volume. Mr. Liu's hearing was severely impaired.

29. [Hetian, Xinjiang Autonomous Region] Mr. Zhang Zhixin and Mr. Zhang Wangsheng Persecuted

Officers from the Hetian Political and Legal Committee colluded with 610 Office agents and broke into Mr. Zhang Zhixin's small store in an attempt to arrest him, but they failed. Later on they installed monitors on both sides of Mr. Zhang's small store. Mr. Zhang had to transfer his store in late 2011. Afterward, the police looked for him and often harassed his wife.

Officials also confiscated Mr. Zhang Wangsheng's residence in 2012, and threatened him. State Security Bureau deputy head Liang Jianjun colluded with 610 Office head Li Xiangliang and arrested Mr. Zhang Wangsheng on April 15 and took him to the Hetian Detention Center.

30. [Zhoukou City, Henan Province] Mr. Li Jie Mistreated in Xinmi Prison

Mr. Li Jie from Taikang County was recently sent to Xinmi Prison. She has been grossly abused and mistreated in detention.
