As a result, guard Zhang Lei tortured her with the “stretching bed,” which caused Ms. Li to suffer a mental collapse. On April 6, 2012, her eyes looked dull. She sat without saying a word, refused to eat, and constantly shed tears.
At around 11:00 p.m. that same day, Ms. Li took off all her clothes. The guard on duty, Guan Liying, cursed her, kicked her hard in the back, and ordered Ms. Li to put on her clothes.
During the night of April 8, Ms. Li was unable to fall asleep, and murmured to herself. The criminal convict on duty ordered her not to speak, and reported her to duty guard Zhang Lei. Zhang forcibly took Ms. Li away. We heard only one horrible scream and then no more sounds. When Ms. Li returned to the cell, I saw her eyes were swollen shut, her face was dark and bruised looking, and she was murmuring that her face burned, and was too hot.
