(Minghui.org) May 13, 2012 marks the 20th anniversary of the public introduction of Falun Gong, and the 61st birthday of Master Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Gong. To celebrate this holiday, Falun Gong practitioners from the Taoyuan area of Taiwan held a series activities at Hutoushan Park, including group exercises, passing out bookmarks, balloons, truth-clarifying materials, and singing.

Clarifying the truth
The group exercises and performances attracted many tourists. Some learned the exercises and joined the practitioners. Mr. Chen, a local citizen, often sees practitioners doing the exercises. He said, “When I visited China a few years ago, I saw police officers chasing Falun Gong practitioners. I don't understand why the Chinese government persecutes Falun Gong. I practice qigong myself. I think that everyone should have freedom of belief. I don't know what the Chinese government is scared of.”
Ms. Hsu watched the group exercises for a long time. She said, “I felt the energy field, even though I was standing outside. I felt comfortable, so I want to learn too.” She was surprised when she learned that Falun Gong was free of charge.
Ms. Chan came to the park with her granddaughter. She asked where she could learn the exercises. She had heard about Falun Gong before and always wanted to learn. She was happy to see practitioners today, and said that she would go to the exercise site close to her home.
At the end of the event, practitioners sang a song, titled “Thank you, Master Li,” and wished Master Li Hongzhi a happy birthday.
