Five hundred people from all walks of life as well as local politicians attended the celebration. The Divine Land Marching Band, consisting of 100 Falun Gong practitioners, performed during the parade.
Several practitioners shared their experiences of cultivating Falun Gong, and how they have benefited from practicing it both physically and mentally. Ms. Song, one of the organizers, said: “We come here to express our appreciation to Master Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Gong. We want more people to know the truth about Falun Gong through this event.”
Many people were attracted to the performances and the parade. Ms. Chan watched the parade with her children. She said: “The teacher of my children has introduced Falun Gong to them. So, I also learned a lot about it. I know that they are all very good people.”
An owner of a convenience store asked practitioners: “All the religions charge their members fees. Where does the money for this parade come from?” Mr. Cheng, an elementary school teacher and a practitioner, told him: “Nobody asked me for any money, and I haven't paid any money for practicing Falun Gong. All the books, audio and video materials about Falun Gong can be freely downloaded from the internet.”
The parade lasted for two hours. At night, practitioners held performances at Chusun Park.
