Michigan, USA: City of Detroit Proclaims May 13-20, 2012 as Falun Dafa Week

(Minghui.org) On the occasion of the 20^th anniversary of Falun Dafa's introduction to the public, Mayor Dave Bing of the City of Detroit, Michigan, proclaimed that May 13-20, 2012 be declared Falun Dafa Week in Detroit, thus honoring Mr. Li Hongzhi and Falun Dafa practitioners, and their commitment to Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance.

Falun Dafa Week

Whereas, Falun Dafa, is a peaceful and healthy self-improvement practice rooted in ancient Chinese culture and was introduced to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in 1992; and

Whereas, Falun Dafa is centered on the universal principles of truthfulness, compassion, tolerance and transcends racial and cultural boundaries. The practice has touched the lives of people of different ages, professions, and racial backgrounds in over 120 countries; and

Whereas, Falun Dafa practitioners’ determination and courage to stand up for truthfulness, compassion and tolerance while facing severe persecution from the Chinese Communist Party; and

Whereas, Falun Dafa practitioners are joyously celebrating the 20^th anniversary of the practice’s introduction to the public on May 13, 2012.

Therefore, I, Dave Bing, Mayor of the City of Detroit, on this 20^th anniversary do hereby proclaim that May 13-20, 2012 be declared Falun Dafa Week in Detroit, thus honoring Mr. Li Hongzhi and Falun Dafa practitioners and their commitment to Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance.
