Additional Persecution News from China – April 18, 2012 (11 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in seven provinces. In this report, two practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 55 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] More Than 30 Practitioners Arrested

Officials from the Dadong District Police Department arrested a number of practitioners from the Dadong District on April 15, 2012. The arrested practitioners include Mr. Zhao Zhong, Ms. Zhang Qiuping, Xiao Cai, Ms. Gong Fengling, Ms. Gong Fengxin, Ms. Liang Qizhen, Ms. Chen Yufeng, and Ms. Ding Lihua from the Huanggu District. Most of them are currently held in the Dadong District Detention Center.

Mr. Di Hui and Ms. Yao Hong from the Shenhe District were arrested on the afternoon of April 15. Ms. Xiao Guiqin, Xiao Ding, Ms. Wang Xiuyuan and Xiao Yu were arrested and taken to the Shenhe District Police Department.

Ms. Meng Qingyun from Jinpeng Community of Gaoguantai was arrested at her home on April 15. The next day Binhe Police Station officials arrested her nephew and more than 10 other practitioners, and detained them in the Shenhe District Police Department.

2. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Eighteen Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Liu Lijie was arrested at his home early on the morning of April 15, 2012. He is currently being held in the Nangou Detention Center.

The police also took 17 practitioners into custody, including Mr. Mu Guodong, Ms. Yu Haiyan, Ms. Zhang Deyan, Mr. Sun Haifeng, Ms. Wang Yumei, Ms. Yu Shuxian, Ms. Wang Guihua, Ms. Chi Xiuhua, Ms. Zhao Shuqin, her husband and her daughter, Mr. Huang Yaguang, Ms. Xiao Hong, Ms. Luo Xiujie, Ms. Luo Xiulie, Mr. Shang Xiaoguang and Mr. Zhang Bo.

The police ransacked Mr. Mu’s, Ms. Zhao’s and Ms. Chi’s homes and confiscated Falun Gong books and many of other personal belongings.

3. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Gao Aihua and Ms. Ji Caiqin Arrested

Ms. Gao Aihua and Ms. Ji Caiqin from Daoyang Village, Hongdao Street, Chengyang District, were arrested while they spoke to people about Falun Gong on the morning of April 16, 2012. The police ransacked their homes later that afternoon.

4. [Jiajiang County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhang Xiuqing Arrested; Her Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Zhang Qiuqing from Li Village, Ganjiang Town was arrested as she sold eggs in Jiajiang County Supermarket on the morning of April 10, 2012. A plainclothes policeman from the Ganjiang Town Police Station led her to a vehicle with the excuse of buying eggs. As soon as she arrived next to the vehicle, several policemen jumped out and forcibly took her away. Her whereabouts are unknown at this time.

5. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Dong Guizhi Injected with Unknown Drugs

Ms. Dong Guizhi was arrested and detained in the Heizuizi Prison. She was recently injected with unknown drugs and given six to seven shots, causing her to appear dull-witted and slow.

6. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Wu Yulin Sent to Brainwashing Center

Mr. Wu Yulin is an employee of the Nanjing City Water Company. Officials from the Qinhuai District 610 Office and the Qinhong Police Station arrested Mr. Wu after he had just arrived home from work on the afternoon of April 10, 2012. He is currently detained in a brainwashing center.

7. [Tongcheng County, Hubei Province] Ms. Lei Shengli Arrested

Ms. Lei Shengli, in her 50s, was arrested on the morning of April 16, 2012. More than 20 officials from the Tongcheng County Domestic Security Division broke into her home and confiscated her computers and many of her other personal belongings.

8. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Hu Huomei Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Hu Huomei, who had been arrested on September 26, 2011, was sentenced to four and a half years in prison on March 8, 2012.

9. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Fengyu Arrested

Ms. Zhang Fengyu from the Changchun Auto Company was arrested when she clarified the facts about Falun Gong to a plainclothes policeman on the morning of April 16, 2012. She was taken to the Anqing Police Station.

10. [Xian City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Liu Wanqiu Arrested and Detained

Ms. Liu Wanqiu from Lanzhou City returned to her hometown, Xian City, in July 2011. She was monitored by several plainclothes police officers while she told people the facts about Falun Gong in a bank. Police officers followed her home, arrested her and took her to the Gaoxin District Police Station. She was later transferred to the Xian City Second Detention Center.

Ms. Chen Jixia was arrested on April 6, 2012, and is currently held in the Liaocheng Detention Center.
