(Minghui.org) In order to commemorate the 13th anniversary of the April 25 Peaceful Appeal, Falun Gong practitioners in Taiwan gathered on the afternoon of April 22, 2012 at Freedom Square in Taipei. They held activities to clarify the facts, expose the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) lies, and call for concerted efforts to stop the persecution of Falun Gong. Chinese tourists arriving in buses were moved by the grand scene of so many people practicing Falun Gong--and the police protecting them.
Taiwan Falun Dafa Association holds activities on April 22, 2012 to commemorate the 13th anniversary of the April 25 Peaceful Appeal. The theme is “Stop the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong.”
A Chinese tourist asked if the event was legally approved, and a practitioner told him that Falun Gong has been warmly embraced by people in more than 100 countries, but is only forbidden in mainland China. According to the President of Taiwan's Falun Dafa Association, Chang Ching-hsi, about a million people in Taiwan have attended Falun Gong Nine-Day Fa-study and Exercise Classes, and there are more than a thousand practice sites in Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu. If you want to learn, you can find Falun Gong practitioners in the morning in parks and schools near your home, and they will teach you how to practice the five sets of the exercises, free of charge.

A group of tourists from Malaysia was also surprised to see so many practitioners doing the exercises. One of them said that he had been interested in learning Falun Gong, and thought the practice must be great since there are so many people practicing it. He asked where he could buy an exercise instruction DVD, and he also wanted to buy Falun Gong books. A practitioner gave him a flyer, and told him that he could get on websites to search for Falun Gong practice sites in Malaysia and contact the coordinators to get detailed information.

Mr. Cai Shouren, a PE teacher at Xinhe Elementary School, was in charge of applying for the venue for the activity. He was having a conversation with the team leader of the Chungcheng No.1 Sub-Police Department who has jurisdiction over Freedom Square. Several other police officers were also listening. Mr. Cai said that on April 25, 1999, more than 10,000 Falun Gong practitioners in China peacefully appealed to the Office of Letters and Appeals of the State Council in Beijing, which is nearby the living quarters and offices of the CCP's top leaders. However, then-CCP head Jiang Zemin took the peaceful gathering as an opportunity to call for the suppression of Falun Gong in China. The persecution led to practitioners all over the world to begin clarifying the facts and raising people's awareness about the CCP's brutality in a peaceful and rational manner, and enabled many people to break away from the CCP's lies. The team leader kept nodding his head.
The team leader then asked where the money was from for making banners used in the activities. Mr. Cai answered, “I paid the money, and actually we use our own money for each activity, and we notify everyone via emails, anyone who wants to come just comes.” “Do you have a roster?” the team head asked, “No, our activities are open to the public, whoever hears of it can participate or leave freely.”

Falun Gong grew vigorously since it was introduced to Taiwan in 1995. The number of practitioners has grown exponentially since April 25, 1999. Mr. Cai said that he often visited Falun Dafa websites in Changchun, Beijing and Wuhan at the time, to learn about the situation of cultivation practice of practitioners there. Several months later, on July 20, 1999, the CCP launched a brutal persecution campaign against 100 million Falun Gong practitioners. From July 21 until today, all Falun Dafa websites in China have been blocked.
At Freedom Square, the deputy head of the Chungcheng No.1 Sub-Police Department also had a conversation with Professor Chang Ching-hsi. The Deputy head said that a friend suffered from cancer ten years ago, but recovered his health after practicing Falun Gong. He also said he could feel and absorb energy from practitioners doing the exercises. Several plainclothes police officers followed along with practitioners to do the exercises from time to time.
Mr. Shi, who comes to Freedom Square to clarify the facts on Saturday afternoons, said that since former police chief of Chongqing Wang Lijun fled to the U.S. Consulate on February 6, 2012, the Chinese people are eager to learn the truth about Falun Gong, and learn more about the turbulent domestic situation. Many people headed to the truth clarification site as soon as they got off the buses. They earnestly asked for The Epoch Times newspaper, the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, and some people directly asked forZhuan Falun. Many Chinese people said that they now feel that the messages that Falun Gong practitioners have transmitted through fax, telephone, and other channels are genuine.

Freedom Square is must visit place for Chinese tourists. While waiting for their buses, Chinese tourists sat in rows to listen to Falun Gong practitioners telling them about Falun Gong and the persecution, or viewing photo displays that expose the CCP's persecution. Ms. Cai, who is a volunteer for quitting the CCP organizations, said that just now a tourist group of 41 people from Chongqing quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations after they learned that Bo Xilai has been sued in many countries for persecuting Falun Gong practitioners, and the fact that since Wang Lijun incident, the crimes committed by Bo Xilai and Zhou Yongkang who are accomplices of Jiang Zemin in persecuting Falun Gong have been exposed to the world, they must be held accountable for their crimes such as fabricating the Tiananmen Self-immolation incident and harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners. It's heaven's will to eliminate the CCP, and only by quitting the CCP can one be safe from disasters.

Professor Chang Ching-hsi stated in the end that the CCP's rumor-mongering media discredited the April 25 incident, and has misled many Chinese people who are unaware of the facts. Today Falun Gong practitioners do large-scale truth clarification at tourists spots around the world, especially to Chinese people. Their efforts are to raise people's awareness about the CCP's lies. They believe that everyone has a conscience, and they sincerely call upon everybody to learn the facts, demonstrate their righteousness, work together to end the persecution, and walk toward a wonderful future for mankind.
