Additional Persecution News from China – February 25, 2012 (12 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 6 provinces. In this report, one practitioner was subjected to mistreatment during detention and at least 19 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Several Practitioners Arrested

On the morning of February 24, 2012, several dozen officers from the Suxian District Police Sub-bureau and the Xifengdu Town Police Station broke into Ms. Ai's home in Xifengdu Town and arrested several practitioners who were reading Falun Dafa books at the time.

2. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Du Yang and Ms. Zhang Benhong Arrested

On the evening of February 23, 2012, Mr. Du Yang and Ms. Zhang Benhong were reported by a guard for trying to cover up slogans defaming Falun Dafa on Shuishiying Street. They were arrested by officers from the Shuishiying Street Police Station.

3. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Seven Practitioners Arrested

On the evening of February 23, 2012, a group of officers from the Dao'erdeng Town Police Station, led by director Pei Ren, arrested seven practitioners who were distributing Falun Dafa informational materials. The arrested practitioners included Ms. Wang Xiuyan, 48; Mr. Wang Jidong, 48; Mr. Wang's mother, Ms. Wang Xiuying, 68; Ms. She Guiqin, 62; Ms. Gao Shuxia, 58; Ms. Wang Honglan, 76; and Ms. Wang Xiushuang, 70. All seven practitioners were taken to the police station. Ms. Wang Honglan and Ms. Wang Xiushuang, who are in their 70s, were released the next morning. The other five practitioners were taken to the Lingyuan City Detention Center.

4. [Penglai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Ren Xiuxiang Detained

Ms. Ren Xiuxiang, 45, was reported by a plainclothes officer for handing out Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs on February 17, 2012. She was arrested by officers from the Dongguan Police Station and taken to Yantai City for detention.

5. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Xiuchan and Her Husband Arrested

On the morning of February 22, 2012, Ms. Wang Xiuchan and her husband were arrested by officers from the Hailun Road Police Station.

6. [Tianjin] Ms. Du Detained

On February 22, 2012, Ms. Du from the Hedong District was arrested on Jintang Highway by officers from the Dazhigu Police Station. Ms. Du is being held at the Shaliulu Detention Center in the Hedong District.

7. [Baiyin City, Gansu Province] Ms. Zhang Xiaomei Arrested, Current Whereabouts Unknown

On the afternoon of February 23, 2012, Ms. Zhang Xiaomei from the Pingchuan District was arrested by officers from the Honghui Police Station while handing out Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs. Ms. Zhang's current whereabouts are unknown.

8. [Yichang City, Hubei Province] Several Practitioners Including Ms. Li Aiping Arrested

On the morning of February 23, 2012, several practitioners including Ms. Li Aiping were arrested and taken to the Yaowan Town Police Station. One of them was released that evening. Ms. Li is still detained.

9. [Penglai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Meili Arrested

On February 22, 2012, Ms. Liu Meili from Xizhenglijia Village, Beigou Town, was arrested by officers from the Beigou Police Station.

On the morning of February 24, 2012, Ms. Ma Jing was arrested by two plainclothes officers for distributing Falun Dafa informational materials near the Caojia Market in the Laishan District. She is being held at the Caojia Detention Center.

11. [Chibi City, Hubei Province] Mr. Li Dongyuan Arrested, His Home Ransacked

On the morning of February 23, 2012, Mr. Li Dongyuan was arrested by five officers from the Chibi Police Department and the Jingquan Police Sub-bureau for handing out Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs. His home was later ransacked by police.

12. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Yang Xiurong Arrested, Her Home Ransacked

On the afternoon of February 23, 2012, Ms. Yang Xiurong, near 70, from the Hongshan District, was arrested by Hongshan District police officers while she was on her way home after visiting her brother in the hospital. The police ransacked her home that evening.
