Additional Persecution News from China – April 4, 2012 (17 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in nine provinces. According to this report, 14 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least eight practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Recent Circumstances of Ms. Wang Xirong at Wuhan City No. 1 Women's Prison

Ms. Wang Xirong, 63, is being illegally held in Wuhan City's No. 1 Women's Prison. Since February 2012, several criminal inmates who are assigned to monitor her have taken turns and kept infusing Ms.Wang with unknown substances day and night. Ms. Wang was forced to stand all night long and had to clean a toilet.

2. [Beichuan, Sichuan Province] Mr. Mu Zhitai Recently Went Missing

Mr. Mu Zhitai left home on the afternoon of April 1, 2012 on his tricycle and did not return home. His family has no idea of his whereabouts.

3. [Weifang, Shandong Province] Ms. Wu Hong Being Held at Shandong No. 1 Women's Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Wu Hong was held at Weifang Detention Center for a period of time before she was transferred to the Shandong Province No. 1 Women's Forced Labor Camp in Jinan City in March 2012.

4. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Gao Jixiang, 94-Year-Old Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Arrested

Mr. Gao Jixiang, 94, lives in Dengzhou Road, Qingdao City. Two plainclothes police officers arrested him on the morning of March 28, 2012 as he was speaking with people about Falun Gong at the Xishan Bus stop in Li Village. Six days have passed. His whereabouts are still unknown.

5. [Zhuanghe, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yu Ziyang Arrested at Home

Officers from the Xinhua Police Station harassed and arrested Ms. Yu Ziyang at home on March 28, 2012. Ms. Yu is still held in the Yaojia Detention Center in Dalian.

6. [Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Tang Hongqi Has Been Detained for More Than Four Months

Quanshan District Domestic Security Division head Du Xiangli led a group of officers from the Hequn Police Station. They broke into 55-year-old Mr. Tang Hongqi's home at the dormitory of the Xuzhou Mining Bureau No. 1 Machine Factory. They took Mr. Tang and his wife Ms. Gao Chunmei to the Kuaijie Hotel on Boai Street in Xuzhou. The police held the couple in a separate room, where they were handcuffed to a tiger bench, deprived of sleep, and forced to "confess." Ms. Gao was released on November 17. Mr. Tang was taken to the Xuzhou City Detention Center.

Mr. Tang is an employee at the Xuzhou Mining Bureau No. 1 Machine Factory. He is currently forced to do hard labor, making colored lights for export at the detention center. He works till the middle of the night every day.

7. [Guanghan, Sichuan Province] Mr. Chen Jianhua and Others Held in a Detention Center

Mao Li, a Guanghan City 610 Office agent, along with others, once again went to Nanxing Town on the morning of March 28, 2012. They colluded with officers from the Nanxing Town Police Station and arrested more than ten practitioners who were having tea in a tea shop. Three practitioners were placed under criminal detention, including Mr. Chen Jianhua from Beiwai Township, Mr. Yang Rui from Nanxing Town, and Ms. Gu from Xigao Town. The three practitioners are currently being held in the Guanghan City Detention Center.

8. [Qingyang City, Gansu Province] Mr. Kou Chuangjin Illegally Sentenced to Three Years in Prison by the Xifeng District Court

9. [Jinxiang County, Shandong Province] Additional Information Regarding the Persecution of Ms. Liu Jing

Officers from the Gaohe Township Police Station arrested Ms. Liu Jing on October 18, 2011. The county court officials tried Ms. Liu on April 10, 2012. Ms. Liu is currently in the Jining Detention Center. It is her third arrest.

10. [Daqing, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Gao Weizhong Arrested

Mr. Gao Weizhong was arrested on March 29 as he was posting information about Falun Gong. His daughter's home was searched. Mr. Gao was taken to the Qiqihar City Detention Center to be held for two weeks.

11. [Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province] Ms. Niu Sumin Arrested

Officers from the Fukang Road Police Station arrested Ms. Niu Sumin on March 28, 2012. Ms. Niu was taken to the Hebei Province Women's Prison on April 2.

12. [Tianjin] Ms. Chai Feng Arrested and Taken to a Detention Center

Several police officers broke into Ms. Chai Feng's home in the Jinnan District early on the morning of March 30, 2012. They ransacked the home, took her computer, Falun Gong books, and other personal belongings, before they took away Ms. Chai. She is currently in the Jinnan Detention Center.

13. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Chunhui Has Been Held for More than Two Months

Chen Keming, deputy head of the Lubei Police Station, along with others, arrested Ms. Li Chunhui on the evening of January 31, 2012. They ransacked her home and took Falun Gong books, a notebook computer, and other personal belongings. Ms. Li was transferred to the Hengshui City Detention Center on February 1 and has been held there for more than two months.

14. [Longhai City, Fujian Province] Retired Teacher Ms. Wang Xiuzhi Arrested Again

Ms. Wang Xiuzhi, a retired high school teacher, was arrested on March 30, 2012. Her home was ransacked.

One day during the Chinese Communist Party's two meetings last month, more than a dozen officers from the Longhai City Political and Judiciary Committee, 610 Office, and police department broke into Ms. Wang's home to harass her.

Ms. Wang had previously been arrested in February 2010 at the hands of officers from Zhangzhou City. She was held for more than ten days.

15. [Guanghan City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Liu Mingde Arrested

Mr. Liu Mingde, in his sixties, from Xigao Town was making a bamboo chair at home on the afternoon of March 30 when three police officers broke in. They beat Mr. Liu, took him away, and ransacked his home. Mr. Liu was taken to the Guanghan Detention Center that same evening and ruthlessly beaten.

16. [Suizhong, Liaoning Province] Four Practitioners Including Ms. Tian Liping Covertly Sentenced to Three to Four Year Terms

Ms. Tian Liping, Ms. Li Chunqing, Ms. Jiang Xiulan, and Ms. Du Fengchun were arrested on April 24, 2011 as they were speaking with people about Falun Gong in Dazhai Township, Xingcheng City. Officials from the Dazhai Township Police Station made the arrest. The practitioners are being held in the Huludao Detention Center.

Manipulated by the Huludao City 610 Office, Xingcheng 610 Office agents and court officials tried the four practitioners on September 9, 2011. Ms. Tian and Ms. Li were each sentenced to four years in prison, and Ms. Jiang and Ms. Du were each given a three-year term. Ms. Tian, Ms. Li, and Ms. Jiang are still in the Huludao Detention Center.

17. [Suizhong City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Guo Zhenhong Still Being Held in the Huludao Detention Center

Ms. Guo Zhenhong, in her forties, was arrested on September 29, 2011 as she was speaking with people about Falun Gong in Gaoling Town. The arrest was made by officers from the Gaoling Town Police Station. She was later transferred to the Huludao Detention Center where she has been held for more than seven months.
