(Minghui.org) The world renowned Shen Yun Performing Arts New York Company staged three exhilarating shows at the Jahrhunderthalle in Frankfurt, Germany on March 30-31, 2012. The audience left the show filled with inspiration and deeply touched by the spirit of Shen Yun and the cultural significance of China's 5,000 years of divine culture.

German MP: Deeper meaning of Shen Yun reveals itself after seeing show for second time

Dr. Michael Meister in Frankfurt

Dr. Michael Meister, acting chairman of the CDU/CSU and member of Parliament, attended the Shen Yun performance in Frankfurt.

Mr. Michael Meister, acting chairman of the CDU/CSU and member of the German Federal Parliament, attended the Shen Yun show with his entire family, including his elderly mother.

“My entire family, from my elderly mother to my little boy, was deeply impressed with the Shen Yun show,” he exclaimed.

“This is the second time I’m attending the show and again I’m very impressed with the Chinese culture, especially since we are seeing stories from different time periods. But, more so, the show also touches on stories from modern times and how culture and power clash,” said Mr. Meister.

“Seeing the show for the second time gives one a much different impression than the first time, because one already has an inkling what the content is going to be and one can experience the show on a much deeper level,” said Mr. Meister.

“What I’m taking home this time is that no matter what situation one faces, one can’t give up hope. Everything will turn out for the best. The last scene expressed this thought the best.

“Last year, I got a slight impression how the music, the songs, and the dances interact, and the progression of the different thoughts. This year I went there already knowing what to expect and it helped me looking at it with a much more open mind, because the first time around one doesn’t know what to expect and gets a surprise.”

He continued, “I received great inspiration and was touched deeply during the last scene ['Before Disaster, The Divine is Rescuing']. On one side one saw the Chinese state’s might and on the other the hope and that the [Chinese] culture will persevere.”

Mr. Meister said that the artistic level of the Shen Yun show is “very high,” adding, “The harmony between music, dance, and song gives ample voice to this contention. Every single one exhibited an extremely high level of artistry.

“One must give ones highest compliment to the artists that developed to this point.” He spoke about the Shen Yun Orchestra, saying, “For me the combination of Eastern and Western instruments represented an interesting combination. One knows the pure music of each, but this combination is truly interesting. I felt very comfortable listening to it. It was a very positive experience.”

Professor and Director: Shen Yun is "magical"

Mr. Claus Helmer said that Shen Yun was "magical."

Also in the audience was Dr. Claus Helmer, professor and director of the venues Die Komodie and Fritz Remond Theater im Zoo.

“It was a wonderful evening, filled with colors and grace. It was fascinating, perfect, and a day that I won’t forget. It is a rare experience and one is fortunate to be able to see such a show,” Dr. Helmer said.

He added, “It is just like a dream. The backdrop and stage, given all the colors, are a joy to behold, and the technique is amazing. It appears as if the people on the backdrop suddenly step out of the backdrop and appear on stage. This is magical.

“What’s most fascinating is that the ancient culture is depicted on stage, something not seen today. But when one watches stories from a 5,000-year-old culture, such as tonight, during only two hours, one moves back in time. One encounters so much during this show and it is outstanding.”

Dr. Helmer saw the theme 'good always triumphs over evil' played out in the present day persecution of Falun Gong, also called Falun Dafa—a mediation practice that is guided by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.

"I found that the positive prevailed. It made it so wonderful, because one can go home with a feeling of peace and say, 'life is good'."

"The show brings out goodness, which is important for all of humanity. If that would prevail, the world would be more peaceful. If people could follow the Falun Gong principles, the world would be a much better place."

“For me, the show was wonderful. It is like another world, a wonderful world, a world that has inner value. It probably is strange to many, but if one really deals with it, one sees and awakes to what one didn’t know before, but what one should have known,” he concluded.

IT Manager: Shen Yun’s backdrops "Like within a dream"

Mr. Iche Soudry, the first manager at Consist, an IT firm, enjoyed hearing about Chinese culture.

Mr. Iche Soudry, a manager at Consist, an IT firm, attended the show with his wife. The couple saw Shen Yun back in 2006, in Paris, and both were happy to be able to see it again. They said that they would hold open any date in 2013 for next year’s Shen Yun performance.

Mr. Soudry was especially interested in the show's animated, digital backdrops.

“These pictures on the backdrop, these landscapes, gives one a special feeling. One knows that they are not for real, but that is what one expects, so one realizes that one is within a dream. One enters a half realistic and surrealistic world. This is what is so wonderful, and it is exceptionally well done,” he said.

Mr. Soudry concluded, “The dance and music blended very well. It was harmonic and provided a great atmosphere.”

Professor: Shen Yun "Is a joy to watch"

Professor Wolfgang Schohl, a media scientist and economist, thought the show was “perfect.”

“It is more perfect than life, wonderful, and the precise dancing was impressive. The dancers showed joy on their faces, something unusual in such young people. The dancers were undoubtedly very athletic, full of life and their dancing was perfect,” said Dr. Schohl.

He added, “I know little about Chinese culture of old… What I saw here was cheerful and shows the beauty that existed in ancient China.

“The show is a joy to watch and I wished I could watch this show over and over again. This is something that Europeans should watch often and enjoy the joy de vivre, and the playfulness that is expressed by the artists.

“One sees in this show rural life and areas. I liked that part of it. Also the athletic type of dancing, such as in the scene Snowflakes Welcoming Spring, was unique. I truly enjoyed that,” Dr. Schohl said.

Shen Yun also presents dance sets depicting the current Chinese regime's repression of faith, beliefs, and human rights, particularly the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.

Dr. Schohl said, “The beauty in this show is that it brings to the public that darker side of the regime… Thinking of all that happens over there, one can see that those who suffer have the right to tell the public their suffering through dance.”
