(Minghui.org) At about 2 p.m. on March 1, 2012, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Jiano Cao distributed Shen Yun Performing Arts CDs at the Yuyin School, located on Wanshou Street. She was followed by some people and reported to the police. Officers from the Wanshou Street Police Station illegally arrested her and ransacked her home. Her friend Ms. Zhenzhen, who was visiting her, was also arrested at that time. The two women were detained in the Haidian Detention Center, and the police claimed they would be taken to a labor camp after the “Two Conferences” (1).

Ms. Jiano has a bachelor's degree in English and has been operating a translation company in Beijing for six to seven years. She is kind, enthusiastic, intelligent, and well accomplished in her field. Last year she translated and proofread the book series “Traveling the World,” which were in final preparations for publishing at the time of her arrest. As a result, the books could not be published as planned.

Ms. Jiano and her child moved from Texas to Beijing about six or seven years ago. Her husband still lives in Texas and has no job. She has had to support her husband and child by working hard, as well as take care of her child and home. She said that Falun Dafa granted her intelligence and endless energy.

There are over one hundred translators in her company; and the majority are professors from a number of universities. There are also many editors for proofreading. From translating to proofreading, Ms. Jiano has had to take care of numerous details, but she has been able to organize everything efficiently.

Since setting up the translation company, she has set up an office for general operations in her home on Wanshou Street. Due to the nature of her job, there was a lot of equipment in her home for printing sampler books. However, the police confiscated it as “evidence of criminal behavior.” They also confiscated an Apple iPhone, which was a gift from her sister.

Note: (1) The “Two Conferences” refers to the National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference held every March in China.
