(Minghui.org) Mr. Shen Xuewu, a Falun Gong practitioner from Wuhan City, has taught in several colleges and universities. He was previously unjustly sentenced to three years in prison and has been recently arrested again by officers from the Wuhan City Police Department. This is the fourth time that Mr. Shen has been arrested. His current whereabouts are unknown. His family and friends are very worried about him.
Mr. Shen Xuewu used to teach at Xiaogan City College, Wuchang Military Finance Institute and Huazhong Normal University. He was highly regarded by his students for his moral integrity and the high level of his professional achievements. However, for remaining steadfast in the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, he has been severely persecuted over the past 13 years. He was forced to undergo brainwashing sessions, illegally detained, placed in solitary confinement, beaten, hung up, force-fed, deprived of sleep and subjected to other torture methods.
In 2000, Mr. Shen Xuewu taught in the Chinese Department at Xiaogan City College. He was arrested for appealing for justice for Falun Gong. He was subsequently extorted for nearly 10,000 yuan, unjustly sentenced to three years and held in Fanjiatai Prison in Hubei Province. He was subjected to brutal physical abuse and torture. He was placed in a solitary cell where guards handcuffed his hands behind his back, and put shackles on his feet. Criminal inmates were assigned to monitor him day and night and brutally torture him. Mr. Shen became disabled as a result of the beatings, and walked with a limp, but the guards still forced him to do hard labor—pulling bricks.
On December 25, 2006, while Mr. Shen was teaching at Wuchang Military Finance Institute, he was arrested and taken to the Yangyuan Brainwashing Center in Wuchang District for two months. Participating in the arrest were eight officers from the Wuchang Police Department No.1 Section and officials from his workplace. Mr. Shen was force-fed and hung up by his arms for three days. The perpetrators accused him of publishing a large number of articles on Falun Dafa websites, and threatened to sentence him to 8-10 years in prison.
On January 14, 2009, when Mr. Shen was the head of the Self-study Exam Institute at Huazhong Normal University, Wuhan City, he was arrested for speaking with people about Falun Gong and the persecution. Officers from the Mafangshan Police Station in Hongshan District, Wuhan City made the arrest and held Mr. Shen in a detention center.
Mr. Shen's most recent arrest took place in November 2012. Participating in the arrest were officers from the Wuhan City Police Department. The police ransacked his home on November 13 and secretly took him to an undisclosed place. His current whereabouts are unknown.
