(Minghui.org) After Ms. Zhan Huawei gets off work, she picks up the phone and starts making phone calls to people in Mainland China. She calls to tell them the facts about Falun Dafa and help them quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations. Huawei has been doing this for six years.
Huawei organizes the notes from which she will speak by watching the news, getting ideas from other practitioners' notes and from her previous notes. However, she never uses her notes when speaking to people over the phone; she answers their questions clearly and thoroughly using her experience. Actually, Huawei had to drop out of school when she was very young, and she used to struggle with reading. Then how did she make it this far?

“This Is Exactly What I Wanted”
In 1950, Ms. Zhan Huawei was born in Zhanghua County, Taiwan. Since her family was poor, she could not afford to go to school. She got married when she was only 20 years old. In the Spring of 1999, her husband got hurt and became hemiplegic. Huawei heard about Falun Dafa from her neighbors. She said, “I could not read a word. However, after I got Zhuan Falun from a practitioner, I recognized the three characters of the title. It was like I had known it from before. I was very happy. I opened the book but could not read any of the characters, but I was very aware of the fact that this was something that I wanted.”
Then Huawei went to a school of continuing education, and she worked very hard because she wanted to read Zhuan Falun. However, the class went very slowly. Huawei was worried. Her eldest daughter, who started practicing right after her, said, “Mom, you like to read, you can get a lot from reading Zhuan Falun.” Huawei was not worried anymore. She started to read Zhuan Falun. Shortly, she was able to read not only Zhuan Falun, but other Dafa books as well. When it comes to the newspaper and other books, she can also manage to read them.
A Weak Body Becomes Stronger
Huawei said, “I have really benefited a lot since practicing cultivation, which I could talk about for a long time. I became smarter, and it seems like I have gained wisdom from somewhere. I also started having good fortune. We used to suffer financially. However, after practicing cultivation, our income became very stable. What is more obvious is that my physical condition fundamentally improved, and I have experienced many miracles.”
Huawei used to have a very weak body since she was small. Low blood pressure and headaches had been giving her a lot of frustration. Every winter, no matter how many clothes she wore, her hands and feet were always freezing. When it got warmer, her feet started to swell and itch. Moreover, she also got frostbite. For 40 to 50 years, her chronic middle ear infection was also very serious. Water and pus often came out of her ears, and they itched as well. Even though she had been taking medicine, it had little effect.
In 1999, Huawei became a Falun Gong practitioner. During the cold winter, she felt that her hands and feet were not freezing anymore. She was not aware of the fact that her body had undergone significant changes. She did the exercises and studied the Fa every day. But she never thought about the fact that she would be benefiting that much!
In terms of the chronic middle ear infection, she knew very well how it was treated. Huawei said, “One morning, I was practicing the meditation in the park when flies were trying to dig into my ears. I knew that I was doing the practice and that my attention should not be taken away. I kept practicing the meditation and did not know when the flies came out. After I came back home, I felt that I had recovered from it and felt very comfortable. That state repeated for three consecutive days. After I finished practicing the exercises on the third day, it was completely gone. Now I even forget what I felt like when I had the chronic ear infection.”
I Survived Two Accidents
Da Han bridge connects the Xinzhuang District and Banqian District in Xinbei City. It is one of the three famous bridges in Northern Taiwan. Maintenance and cleaning staff must start work very early in the morning when there is little traffic, so they do not block traffic or cause any danger. Huawei is one of the cleaning staff.
In 2002, then 52-year-old Huawei had been practicing Falun Gong for three years. One morning two motorcycles crashed on the bridge, and they dragged Huawei, who was cleaning the road, with them. The two riders and one passenger got up and helped Huawei to get up. They asked her worriedly, “How are you? Should we take you to hospital?” Huawei replied, “I am fine. It is OK.” Her boss came and said, “Go back and take a break.” Huawei said, “I am fine.”
After she arrived home from work, she realized she had a bump the size of an egg on her head. Then she felt pain in the area of her lumbar vertebra. Her husband asked her to see a doctor. She smiled and said, “I am fine.” Her daily life and work was not affected at all. A few days later, she got her period and it continued for two weeks. Then she felt very comfortable.
One night in 2006, Huawei was riding a motorcycle, when she suddenly applied the brakes to avoid hitting a person and fell off the motorcycle. Then the person helped her get up and pulled the motorcycle away. Huawei thanked him and went home. After she got home, she felt uncomfortable for four to five days. However, she did not take it seriously and decided to follow her schedule to go to Hong Kong to tell people the facts about Falun Gong.
During her time in Hong Kong, she kept studying the Fa and doing the exercises every day. Huawei said, “When I was practicing the meditation in the morning, a message popped into my mind. It said that doing the exercises is like training your body and studying the Fa is like seeing a doctor. The next year when I was getting a physical examination, the doctor saw the mark on my second rib where it had been fractured. I did not know that it had been that serious. For an ordinary person, he or she would have to stay in bed for more than a month and would still not recover. Being a Dafa disciple, I only had to stay in bed for one day. I am so lucky because Master is protecting me.”
Feeling Happy for Those Who Have Been Saved
Six years ago, Huawei started to make phones calls to Mainland China to tell them the facts of Falun Gong and help them quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations at the same fixed time every week. Initially, she stammered and had to read what she said from a paper. Later on, she started to write the message herself. Eventually, she did not have to look at the paper; she calmly told them the facts and answered their questions before helping them quit the CCP with a heart of hoping that they had a good future. The people who answer their phones have also changed their attitude. They used to be against her and were very afraid. In recent years, more and more people are willing to learn the truth and agree to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations. That trend has become more obvious. Huawei said, “It is quite easy to help them quit the CCP now.” A few days ago, a lady used her real name to quit.
In July of this year, Huawei made a phone call and a Mr. Liu answered the phone. When they were talking about how the state-run media in China was spreading lies and slanting much of the truth that had been covered up, Huawei said, “There is a radio station called Sound of Hope, and it was established by overseas Chinese for people in Mainland China. From the radio station, you can hear a lot of true information related to yourself, which you will find very important. Please jot down the frequency of the station.” He replied, “Sure!”
The other day when Huawei called the same gentlemen again, Mr. Liu said, “We have seven people willing to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations. Would that be OK?” That simple phone call helped seven people learn the truth and quit. Moreover, Mr. Liu said that they felt very happy about doing so.
Huawei feels very pleased, not because her work is not in vain, but for those who learn the facts and quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations and are saved. The salvation of every sentient being is the result of many practitioners' efforts. Like many practitioners overseas, Huawei will continue making phone calls until the the persecution ends.
