(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Qu Guangyi and his wife Gao Guibo are from Erdao District of Changchun City. They were arrested by local police officers on September 12, 2012, and were held at a detention center. It is believed that officials from the legislative department in Changchun, Erdao district are plotting to put the couple on trial and sentence them to prison.
Qu Guangyi left his sister’s home in the Ledong community at around 6:30 a.m. on September 12, 2012, and was on his way to work when police officers from the Erdao District of Changchun and the 610 Office arrested him. They found the key to his house and purposely locked his wife, Gao Guibo, inside. When she was ready to go to work, she could not open the door. She thus contacted her husband, however no one answered the phone. She then asked her husband's sister, Qu Shuzhen for help. As soon as Qu arrived at their home, she was arrested by police, who had been waiting there. The police body-searched her and found some dollar bills with truth clarification words printed on them. They then searched Qu Shuzhen’s home and confiscated Dafa books and several DVDs.
According to insiders, when police officers searched Qu Guangyi’s home, they confiscated stamps, which were used for printing truth clarification messages, and deposit slips (valued at over 100,000 yuan). They left behind such a chaotic mess that the witnesses mentioned they acted like hoodlums. In addition, they searched the lockers at Gao Guibo’s workplace. They also arrested three other practitioners at Gao’s workplace. Their names are Zhang, Liu, and Hu.
Qu Guangyi was detained at the Third Detention Center (Room 102) in Changchun. His wife Gao Guibo, his sister Qu Shuzhen and three other practitioners were detained at the Weizigou Detention Center. Fifteen days later, Qu Shuzhen and three other practitioners were returned to their respective local police station. Gao Guibo was transferred to the Third Detention Center because she was involved in distributing DVDs containing the informational materials.
Qu Guangyi and Gao Guibo are still being detained at the Third Detention Center in Changchun. The people in charge of their case are Miao Xin and Gao Hongning from the Erdao Public Security Bureau in Changchun city. According to insiders, their case has already been submitted to the Erdo District Procuratorate.
