(Minghui.org) Mr. Zhang Guangzhao has been arrested many times because he practices Falun Gong. In September 2011, he was imprisoned in Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City, where he was incarcerated in a small compartment in which it was difficult for him to move. Even today, his limbs are still numb.

Mr. Zhang has been persecuted many times. In 2010, he was arrested for clarifying the facts about Dafa on a train. Police officers took him to his home and ransacked it. One early morning in the summer of 2011, as he was clarifying the facts in the New District of Jiaohe City, someone who had been deceived by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) reported him. He was arrested but was released that same night.

On September 13, 2011, while Mr. Zhang was on his way to Wulingou Village, where he wanted to clarify the facts, someone who didn't understand the facts reported him to the police. He was again arrested and his home ransacked. His personal belongings were taken. In a hearing, he refused to give a confession. Two weeks later, he was taken to Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp in Changchun.

In the forced labor camp, Mr. Zhang refused to recite the prison regulations, refused to wear an inmate uniform, refused to write any guarantee statement, and declined to take part in slave labor. On February 15, 2012, because he practices Falun Gong, he was locked in a iron cage less than two square meters in size. He was forced to sit with his arms stretched out on both sides of an iron chair and was handcuffed and unable to stand up. He had to ask for permission to go to the toilet. Due to having to sit for a long time, the skin on his buttocks ulcered and bled, causing serious pain and numbness. One can only imagine how much he had to suffer. He was only allowed to take a short nap when he was very sleepy at night.

He was held in the iron cage for seven days. When he asked to go to the toilet, guard Ma Yuntao of the Education Department didn't allow him to go. His arms were numb and his legs had no strength at all.

On July 20, 2012, Mr. Zhang went on a hunger strike to protest this ill treatment and asked to be unconditionally released. When he was savagely force-fed more than a pound of salt, he developed an unbearable thirst. Then they put him back in the iron cage. After seven days, he was finally released. He appeared to be extremely weak and thin, and even the doctor at the labor camp noticed that he suffered from severe malnutrition. But the forced labor camp officials still did not agree to give him medical parole.

This forced labor camp currently holds more than 30 Falun Gong practitioners. On July 20, 2012, they went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. Those in charge responded with savage force feedings and locked them in small cages. In previous years, the prison guards were very vicious, but within the last two to three years, they have become somewhat restrained due to the fact that Falun Gong practitioners have been coming forward regularly to clarify the facts of the persecution. But there are still quite a few who are very vicious, such as Gao Zhilu from the first team; He Jianxin from the second team; Ma Yuntao and Director Li, who did the forced feedings; and assistant director Yang Yi, who directs the persecution behind the scenes. They employ criminal inmates to carry out the persecution.
