(Minghui.org) On the eve of the 18th Congress of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), the “registered” local practitioners have been incessantly harassed by the authorities. Local security personnel, police officers, and neighbor committee members managed to seek out all practitioners both at home and at work and threaten us to make “promises” not to appeal on behalf of Dafa and to surrender Dafa books and other materials.
In the face of such harassment, most practitioners became more mature, no matter how rude, unreasonable, or hypocritical the attitude of the perpetrators. Some reacted intelligently, some faced it with dignity, and some displayed a sense of majesty and righteousness that thwarted the evil. Afterward, practitioners shared, “Cultivating until today, our righteous thoughts are stronger and stronger, and our state becomes better and better.”
Below I will share stories about three practitioners.
During an inspection, a few police officers noticed a portrait of Master Li hanging in the first practitioner’s home and said, “How dare you worship this at home! Take it away!” After “teaching the practitioner a lesson,” the officers took Master's portrait and started walking out. The practitioner stopped him and said, “You can't take it away.” “Why?” “This is not good for me, because I could not protect my Master's portrait. But, more importantly, it's not good for you.” The practitioner's words carried a majestic tone. The officers still left with Master's portrait. However, after a while, one of them came back and returned it to the practitioner. One righteous sentence from the practitioner stopped the evil's reckless behavior.
Why did the police specifically take Master's portrait? This practitioner looked inside and found an attachment of fear. At the first sight of policemen or police cars near his house, he always hid the portrait immediately. The evil therefore took aim at this attachment.
A second practitioner received two phone calls from the police demanding that he allow them to go to his home to “take a look.” He sent out a powerful thought, “Absolutely do not allow the evil to harass me at home. Deny completely all arrangements by the old forces to persecute us under the pretext of security for the 18th Party Congress.” The two policemen changed their minds and met him at his workplace instead, saying, “The 18th Congress is starting, so we are coming here to see you. You have to give us an answer.” The practitioner did not hurry to reply and only looked at them while silently sending righteous thoughts. The two policemen gradually softened and finally said, “Ah, we have no choice but to follow orders from above. If you want to keep practicing Falun Gong, just do it at home and don't ever go out.” With that, they hurriedly left.
This practitioner learned from the experience that when facing policemen, one should not hurry to answer their questions. Keep sending righteous thoughts to eradicate the evil spirits behind them. In this dimension, the perpetrators will be weak. It is the evil that is afraid of us, not the other way around.
The third practitioner was not mentally prepared when police officers suddenly appeared at his office. One said that they needed to take him back home in a police car to “take a look.” The practitioner replied, “Look at what? Have you not caused enough trouble over these years?” The two officers' attitudes changed immediately. One said, “We don't have a choice. We are only running errands. If we don't look around in your home, we can't fulfill our duties.” However, the practitioner's home contained many Dafa books and truth-clarification materials, as well as Master's portrait. The practitioner used a short break to call his family before they arrived, and as a result, the police failed to find anything they were interested in. Before they left, one took out a sheet and asked him to sign it. The practitioner replied harshly, “No, I will not sign anything! During these years, you have always been disturbing me in this way. Are you going to let us everyday citizens live in peace? What kind of society does not allow us to be good people?” The two officers apologized at once, “Ah, you misunderstood, you misunderstood. It is only a visitation form. Just sign it to confirm that we indeed came by your home. Otherwise, we can't report back. Actually, we didn't want to come, either.”
The practitioner said afterward, “We should treat these policemen righteously and strictly. By not letting them make mistakes and commit bad deeds, it is also being merciful.”
Different attachments provoked different consequences. In general, for a practitioner with strong fear, the evil will become active; for a practitioner without an attachment to fear, the evil will fear him. However, as a whole, practitioners are doing very well. We are clear on the Fa principles and have strong righteous thoughts and fewer human attachments. Evil factors in other dimensions are in fact fewer, so the perpetrators can't muster much evil. As long as your thoughts are righteous and you let go of human attachments, including the attachment to life and death, the evil amounts to nothing.
