(Minghui.org) During our signature drive to rescue fellow practitioners, we collected signatures from local people. I was fortunate to participate in some of the coordination work and tempered myself. The people who read the truth clarification materials about Falun Dafa were moved, with some of them even having tears in their eyes. Almost everyone signed their names and put their thumbprints on the petition to rescue Falun Dafa practitioners.
People who signed their names are of different minds and understandings:
1. They think that Falun Dafa practitioners are good people. They also think that Falun Dafa can reform society better than anything else. For example, one man said, “Falun Dafa practitioners are all good people. All my family members signed their names.” A young couple said, “Falun Dafa practitioners are good. If everybody learns Dafa, our crop won’t be stolen.”
2. They understood the true essence of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and cast it aside. They are casting their vote in support of Falun Dafa. One elderly couple in their 60s said, “We will definitely sign our names. Falun Dafa practitioners are all good people. Most of the CCP members are bad. Murderers can be bailed out by paying money, while good practitioners are persecuted.” They also said to those nearby, “Come sign your names to save good people.”
3. Some people that were protected by Dafa when they faced a calamity thanked Dafa. One 38-year-old lady said, “Dafa is amazing. Several months ago, I had problems during my second pregnancy. I threw up, was unable to eat, and vomited blood. I said loudly, ‘Falun Dafa is good!’ Ten minutes later, the symptoms eased up. The next day I was fine. I witnessed the wonders of Falun Dafa. To rescue practitioners, I will sign my name.”
Although one year has passed since the above happened, I can still remember all of it clearly.
We asked practitioners who were involved in the signature collection effort to share their experiences:
Beginning Well
Before beginning the signature collection in our area to rescue practitioners, we were worried, because we had no idea where to start. I then realized that rescuing fellow practitioners and collecting signatures are in concordance with the Fa-rectification. It is important that practitioners help people get involved in the drive to stop the persecution; it's necessary for the Fa-rectification and for saving people. That is how important it is! After I enlightened to this Fa truth, I participated in the activity.
I first collected signatures in a market and was at first a little hesitant. One person who already knew the facts about Falun Dafa greeted me and asked, “What are you doing?” I told him about the signature drive to rescue fellow practitioners. He grabbed the pen and paper from me and signed his name right away. After that, I collected more signatures.
Isn’t this “Cultivation depends on one’s own efforts, while the transformation of gong is done by one’s master.” (Zhuan Falun) Master had seen that I understood the urgency and helped me.
“I Will Sign My Name”
Where should I start collecting signatures? With this question in mind, I walked out my door. I had pondered this for several days before I was ready. I realized that I could not delay anymore. Time won’t wait, so we must do our best. I knocked on my neighbors' door. After I explained why I came, they signed their names immediately. I had clarified the facts about Falun Dafa to them in the past and they believed me. Later, I knocked on the door opposite to our house, and then continued to stop at all the doors, one by one.
From the afternoon until that evening, I visited more than ten families. Some of them signed without hesitating after I briefly told them what I was doing. “I will sign my name. I know that all Falun Dafa practitioners are good people. It’s unreasonable to arrest them.” Some people even wrote down the names of all their family members. I asked them, “Are you frightened to sign your names?” “Frightened? Why? The CCP can only harm people, what good can they do? Good people like you practitioners get arrested. It's ridiculous.”
After Reading Materials about Falun Gong “I Was Moved to Tears”
As we were collecting signatures, I realized that people's conscience had awakened. One 70-year-old lady smiled and said, “I will not only sign my name, but also reward you with a candy!”
One rainy day, two of us went out to collect signatures again. Many people said the same or similar as the elderly lady. They had already understood the facts about Falun Dafa before signing the petition.
One man said, “After having read the materials you gave me, I was moved to tears. I am not a sensitive person, but the stories are so moving! I read them as soon as I finish my chores. I can almost recite them. All my family members will sign, too.” Another lady said, “It is good to sign our names to help rescue good people. We all will sign our names.” She also asked other people to sign the petition. A 70-year-old lady said, “Dafa practitioners are good. I will sign my name for anyone who learns Dafa.” Another Aunty [an endearment used for elderly ladies] said, “The CCP only knows how to persecute good people. Please help these good people and rescue them.”
Everything Goes Well When Your Heart Is Pure
After arriving at one house, we explained our purpose and clarified the truth about Falun Dafa. We told them about the beauty of Falun Dafa and that Dafa has spread to more than 100 countries. Only the CCP opposes it. We told them how practitioners were cruelly tortured and that the CCP harvested organs from living practitioners for economic profit. After they heard about the torture and organ harvesting, they were shocked. Due to righteous thoughts held by practitioners, nearly 90 percent of the people signed the petition. In one factory almost every worker signed his/her name. Some of them were very angry about what the CCP had done.
The authorities were deeply shocked after receiving the petition. They tried to interfere with the villagers. When they asked them whether they had signed their names, the villagers replied, “Yes, we did. We should sign if good people are persecuted. So should you!” Everybody who was asked replied with the above or similar words and was not frightened.
People Accept the Facts about Falun Dafa
On the first day of collecting signatures, I was mentally well prepared and knew my responsibilities. I collected about 20 signatures that morning.
One businessman who came to my place to buy potatoes publicly announced that he quit the CCP. He told me that the social morality was not very good. He observed bad people beating good people, and the police just standing idly by. One time, he witnessed an elderly lady’s necklace torn from her neck. Because the necklace was a fake, the thief beat the old lady. The police were present but just looked on.
I told him about the persecution of practitioners and about quitting the CCP and its affiliates. To my surprise, he knew much more and in more detail than me. He was a former prison guard, retired now with his own business. He had witnessed the cruel persecution of practitioners in the prison. Their bodies, except their hands and faces were burned with electric batons and cigarettes. Later, he shouted loudly, “From now on, I quit the CCP.”
One time when I went to the fields, I met some people in their 60s. I told them about Falun Dafa. One elderly man, the first to sign the petition, said, “It is so difficult to be a good person in this society. It is unfair to lose your freedom because of your belief. It is our will to rescue good people like them. I think all the villagers should sign their names.” All the other men then signed their names.
