(Minghui.org) I am 60 years old and live in Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province, and have a job as a department head. My wife has practiced Falun Gong for many years. Because I was an atheist, I neither opposed nor supported it.
However, ten years ago, when the police came to arrest my wife and attempted to ransack my home, I broke out from under the crowd of officers who gathered at my door, closed the door behind me, and shouted, “Why don't you arrest those who are corrupt rather than those who are honest? My wife did not commit any crime, why do you want to arrest her?"
I then alerted the residents of the whole apartment complex, and they gathered around to see what was happening. Eventually, the police left empty handed. I had protected the Dafa books that my wife treasured so much. I was proud of what I did and thought it was one of the most generous things I’d ever done.
I was a longtime alcoholic and heavy smoker. My wife always tried to persuade me to give up these vices, but I never listened. In early April of this year, I suddenly started coughing, felt weak, and was unable to eat or sleep normally. I felt very unwell and ended-up getting a CT at a hospital. The doctor informed me that there was 7 cm tumor on my left lung and a 90% chance that it was cancerous. I was in shock at this devastating news and fainted.
With this diagnosis, I lay in bed for several days and felt hopeless. After only two or three days, I lost a lot of weight. At this point, my wife quietly suggested that I listen to the Falun Dafa lecture series given by Master. I really wanted to turn it off, but was too weak to get up. Little by little, my irritable mood gradually calmed down, and I became to appreciate the lectures and felt that they made sense. Later, I asked my wife to play the Dafa lectures for me. After I finished listening to the nine lectures, I regained strength and vigor.
My relatives then asked a specialist to treat me. I had another CT scan, and the doctors looked puzzled and said, “It's very strange. The tumor should be on the left lobe, but according to this CT, it is on right side of the lung and has shrunk.” He told us that he had never encountered anything like it. The expert concluded “This is not lung cancer, it is pneumonia.” My relatives could not figure it out. Why would a tumor move from the left to the right side of the lung?
My wife said, "How magical! You just listened to Master’s lectures once, and he has protected you. You should start cultivating Falun Dafa with me; only Dafa can save your life.” At that moment, I felt particularly excited and realized I was no longer an atheist.”
I am now faithful about practicing the Falun Dafa exercises, studying the book, Zhuan Falun, and trying to be a good person in accordance with the Fa. After only two months of Dafa practice, I regained my health and went back to work. During this time, I also read the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and truly recognize the evil nature of the regime, and now understand its deceitful political agenda.
