(Minghui.org) During my ten years of cultivation practice, I often found myself paying too much attention to the concerns of everyday people. I was not diligent enough in my practice and apologized to Teacher for this. However, Teacher did not give up on me, even though I was such a disappointing student. I feel Teacher beside me, protecting me on my path. So, I would like to write about my experiences in cultivation practice, and I hope this will encourage all practitioners to improve together.
Dafa Changed My View of Life
I remember that when I graduated from school, I was a confident young lady full of passion. I did not believe in any god. I did not believe that my fate was already decided either. I believed that I could control my own fate. After graduation, I started working in a nationally owned company in my hometown. I was lucky to be promoted to an office clerk not long after beginning my job. I worked hard and so my supervisors liked me a lot. However, all the other clerks in the same department were jealous of me. They often left me out of the crowd and slandered me. In those moments, what I felt most was how vicious people were and how bad the morality of the whole society is!
Unfortunate things came to me one after another. My mom broke both shoulders and my family did not have enough money to take her to the hospital. My father borrowed money from friends and took my mom to a private clinic. However, the treatment there was not effective. From then on, my mom became disabled. Her arms hung down by her side and she could not raise them up. She could not take care of herself and needed help. My mother lamented all day long. At that time, one lady who was our neighbor said to her, “Since you cannot do anything, how about practicing with me? Falun Dafa is very effective in healing diseases. A lot of cancer patients recover after practice. As long as you practice with a true heart, Teacher will help you.”
So my mom told my dad and I that she was going to begin to practice Falun Dafa. She was handicapped and she could not take care of herself. She believed that she must have done something bad in her past lives to have such difficulties in her life now. She decided to be a good person and practice diligently. Father and I thought that she could do nothing at home anyway, so we let her go. We regarded it as a way for her to relax and did not pay much attention to it.
Then a wonderful thing happened! Less than one year later, my mother’s arms were healed and functioning normally again. Her face appeared bright and her skin smooth. She told the whole family, “My arms are good now. How amazing Teacher is! Teacher Li is unusual! You must believe in Falun Dafa, believe in gods!” Our whole family witnessed the wonder of Dafa.
From then on, I changed my old stubborn concept of only believing in science and never believing in god. In 1998, I was fortunate to start learning Falun Dafa too. It is the mercy of Teacher and the wonder of Dafa that changed my view of life.
Falun Dafa Ended My Resentment and Helped Me through Family Tribulations
I considered myself a simple and kind woman. My mother-in-law lived in a faraway rural area. After one year of marriage,we still did not have a baby. My mother-in-law said that I was not able to have a baby. I was very angry and went to the city hospital to be tested. The test results indicated that my husband had venereal disease due to his unrestrained lifestyle. I was shocked by the sudden news and cried. I had never imagined that my husband would cheat on me. My family members supported my plan to divorce my husband for his behavior. However, my husband's family members would not let me. We were involved in a big fight and I was fretful and did not know what to do. Three times, while listening to Teacher’s Fa on the recorder, I had thoughts of divorce and realized that the tape stopped. I understood that Teacher was reminding me that as a practitioner, I could not divorce easily.
Once, I had a dream in which I was married to my husband in a past life. In that life, we had a boy and a girl. He loved me, but I did not love him. I dumped him and left with another man I loved and my children. After waking up from this dream, I knew the reason why my husband did not treat me well in this life. I owed him from a previous lifetime. Everything in everyday people’s life has its predestined relationship. You have to repay all your debts, which is always the truth! Teacher let me see the predestined relationship of all this and it helped me to handle this very difficult situation in my life. I gave up the thought of divorce. I disciplined myself with the standard of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to be a good person. I worked hard to earn more money and took him to see all kinds of doctors. As the saying goes, one person practices, the whole family can benefit. After a few months, my husband’s disease of about three years was healed. We had a lovely boy afterwards. During this tribulation, Dafa changed me and I learned to be a good and tolerant person according to the standard of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
Saving Predestined People during My Cultivation Practice
My father-in-law lives in the countryside and we go back home on holidays to visit him. However, his house is on the top of a mountain and transportation is not very convenient. I grew up in the city and did not know how to walk on mountain roads. It takes about two to three hours to walk to his house, so I usually take a bus.
One day when I was studying the Fa, I suddenly realized that I was the only person on the mountain who practiced Falun Dafa. Therefore, I felt that I should take on the mission to save everyday people there. A lot of people on the mountain were waiting to be saved. If I took the bus and passed by quickly, how could I tell them the truth? From then on, I never took a bus to go back home. I walked instead and I told everybody I met that Falun Dafa is good, that Dafa is spreading all over the world, that the Chinese Community Party (CCP) is persecuting Dafa and taking practitioners’ organs to make money, etc. Whenever I met villagers, I gave them informational materials about Falun Dafa. Whenever I saw a telephone pole, I posted Dafa related information on it. The result was very good. Every time I go back home, I can help about ten people quit the CCP. I have worn out three pairs of shoes on this mountain. I made a promise to Teacher in my heart that I will try my best to realize my mission to save people and not let my sentient people down.
Sometimes, I got lost on the mountain, but I did not panic. I would sit down with my legs crossed and ask Teacher to guide me. There was always a miracle, as a lady or a child would come along to direct me along my way. I can feel that Teacher is around me and protecting me from time to time. Even my father-in-law was surprised, “How brave you are to walk alone on this huge mountain!” I replied, “I have Teacher helping me.” Dafa has given me a strong will to succeed on the path of cultivation.
So many amazing things have occurred and I know they are beyond my ability. It is Teacher who provides for me. Only if I practice and clarify the truth more diligently can I fulfill Teacher’s wish to save more people.
