Couple Arrested; Police Threaten to Send Daughter to Orphanage

(Minghui.org) Mr. Zhou Jiafu and his wife, Ms. Bai Guixia, are Falun Gong practitioners from Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province. Approximately 20 officers from the Dongshan Police Station waited outside the building where they live on September 20, 2012. Once Mr. Zhou returned home around 3 p.m., the police illegally arrested him. They also ransacked the family's home and confiscated their computer, printer, over 10,000 yuan in cash, several cell phones, and informational materials about Falun Gong.

The same afternoon, Ms. Bai received a phone call from the school that the couple's daughter attended. Ms. Bai was told that her daughter had been in a fight and was asked to go to the school to deal with the situation. When she got there, she was arrested.

Police also took the couple's 11-year-old daughter to the police station and threatened to send her to an orphanage. The child was not allowed to see her mother or her father. A relative was allowed to take her home that evening.

The next day, the relative went to the police station and asked to see Mr. Zhou and his wife, but was told that they had been transferred to the No. 2 Detention Center. The relative still hasn't received any official notification of the transfer.

Mr. Zhou’s daughter has been very worried about her parents’ safety. She has visited the Dongshan Police Station multiple times to ask to see her parents, but was only threatened by the police. As a result of the psychological trauma induced by the persecution, she is now too upset to attend school.
