Additional Persecution News from China – September 13, 2012 (32 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents about persecution that took place in 28 cities or counties in 14 provinces. According to this report, 16 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 30 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Chongqing] Elderly Mr. Yan Conghua in Critical Condition Due to Persecution

Mr. Yan Conghua from Jinfeng Township, Kai County, is almost 80 years old. Someone reported him to the police when he handed out informational materials about Falun Gong in mid-March 2012. Mr. Yan was arrested and has been incarcerated in the Kai County Detention Center in Chongqing.

Guards in the detention center encouraged criminal inmates to beat him and did not allow his family to visit him. Mr. Yan has become emaciated and is in critical condition.

Mr. Yan has been arrested many times for practicing Falun Gong. He was twice held in forced labor camps, once for 5 years and another time for 3 years.

2. [Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Zhang Huizhu Held in Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Zhang Huizhu from Xiawan Village, Lujiang, Hudai Town, was arrested by agents from the 610 Office in March 2011. She was sent to the Judong Women's Forced Labor Camp for a term of 1.5 years. Although she has not been released yet, monitoring cameras have already been installed around her home.

3. [Pi County, Sichuan Province] Over 20 Practitioners Arrested

Officers arrested over 20 practitioners on July 9, 2012. Ms. Zhang Yuqing is being held in the Xinjin Brainwashing Center. Ms. Liao Dairong is being held in the Pi County Detention Center.

4. [Shanghai] Ms. Bai Gendi and Ms. Yao Yuhua Arrested

Ms. Bai Gendi and Ms. Yao Yuhua were arrested on September 10, 2012. Authorities planned to detain them for 30 days.

On June 16, 2005, both practitioners were arrested at a subway station by officers from the Xuhui District. They were held in the Xuhui District Detention Center for 30 days.

5. [Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Meng Jun Arrested

Mr. Meng Jun was arrested at home on the afternoon of September 11, 2012. He is being held in the Domestic Security Division of the Xinpu District Police Department in Lianyungang City.

6. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Mr. Qin Yuelin Detained

Mr. Qin Yuelin was arrested by officers from the Nanyingfang Police Station on the afternoon of September 10, 2012. He was sent to the Zhangjiakou City Detention Center the next morning.

7. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xu Huiping Forced to Leave Home

Ms. Xu Huiping from Jinzhou Heavy Machinery Plant Residential Area was taken to the Jinzhou City Detention Center on July 19, 2012. She was held for 15 days and released after 610 Office authorities extorted over 100,000 yuan from her family. The agents from the 610 Office continued to harass her afterward, and she had to leave home and move from place to place in order to avoid further persecution.

8. [Shanghai] Mr. Nie Guangfeng Arrested

Mr. Nie Guangfeng was arrested by officers from the Zhabei District Police Department for handing out informational materials about Falun Gong on September 7, 2012.

9. [Jingjiang City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Zhang Wei and Ms. Xu Huifang Arrested

Mr. Zhang Wei was accompanying his wife for a prenatal checkup when he was arrested in the Jingjiang People's Hospital by several plainclothes officers on September 11, 2012. He was taken to the Chengnan Police Station in Jingjiang City.

Ms. Xu Huifang was also arrested that evening.

10. [Qianan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Jia Guifeng Held in Brainwashing Center

Ms. Jia Guifeng, in her 60s, was arrested on the afternoon of September 11, 2012. Her home in Yongshun Residential Quarters was ransacked that afternoon. Her Falun Gong books, cash bills with facts about Falun Gong written on them and other items were confiscated.

Ms. Jia is being held in the Qianan City Brainwashing Center.

11. [Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Xu Yushan Detained

Mr. Xu Yushan was arrested on September 9, 2012. He is being held in the Shuangcheng City Detention Center.

12. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Lu Zongqin Arrested

Ms. Lu Zongqin was arrested on September 6, 2012.

13. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Hu Guiying and Her Husband Arrested

Political instructor Yin and about eight officers from the Yuejianglou Police Station barged into Ms. Hu Guiying's home on the morning of September 4, 2012. They ransacked it and confiscated a computer and Falun Gong books.

When the officers attempted to arrest Ms. Hu, her blood pressure rose and she fell down. The officers carried her away on a stretcher. After going on a hunger strike for 3 days, Ms. Hu was released.

Ms. Hu's husband, Mr. Shi, was also arrested when he tried to reason with the officers. He was taken to the police station.

14. [Penglai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Bai Li Detained

Ms. Bai Li from Penlai City is about 55 years old. She was arrested for explaining the facts about Falun Gong on September 10, 2012. She is being held in the Beigou Detention Center in Penglai City.

15. [Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhou Fenglan, Ms. Zhao, and Ms. Gao Arrested

Ms. Zhou Fenglan, Ms. Zhao, and Ms. Gao were arrested on September 10, 2012.

16. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Ma Guohua's Forced Labor Term Extended

Mr. Ma Guohua was sent to the Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City for a term of one year on September 9, 2011. When his term expired, the labor camp authorities extended his term for another 15 days.

17. [Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Chen Baohan Arrested

Officers from the Hantai District Domestic Security Division arrested Mr. Chen Baohan at work on the afternoon of September 10, 2012. They then ransacked his home and confiscated several large bags of his personal belongings. This is the third time that Mr. Chen has been arrested for practicing Falun Gong.

18. [Beijing] Ms. Cui Huilian Arrested; Her Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Cui Huilian from Shiliuyuan West Street, the Fengtai District, was followed and then arrested around September 3 or 4, 2012, when she went out to hand out informational materials about Falun Gong. Her whereabouts are unknown.

19. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] 12 Practitioners Arrested

Officers from the Changjianglu Police Station in Huangdao Development Zone, Qingdao City, arrested 12 practitioners on September 8, 2012. Ms. Sun Guizhen, Ms. Xue Yuying, Ms. Chen, and Ms. Gao Lihong were among those arrested.

Ms. Sun and Ms. Chen were subsequently released. Ms. Gao and another practitioner were taken to the Dashan Detention Center in Qingdao City. The other eight practitioners are still being held in the Changjianglu Police Station.

20. [Chenggu County, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Huang Xiaoqin Detained for Over 2 Months

Ms. Huang Xiaoqin and Ms. Wang Jinmei from Chenggu County were arrested on July 26, 2012, and taken to the Hantai District Detention Center. Ms. Wang was later released. Ms. Huang is still being held in the detention center.

21. [Tongchun City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Xu Guifang Emaciated and Weak Due to Persecution

Ms. Xu Guifang is an elderly Falun Gong practitioner from Tongchuan City. She had been sent to forced labor camps twice for a total period of 4.5 years. In February 2012, she was sent to a forced labor camp again for a term of 2.5 years.

Ms. Xu has been severely persecuted in the labor camp. Ccamp authorities did not allow her family to visit her for 4 months in a row. When her family finally saw her in September, they could hardly recognize her. Ms. Xu had become emaciated and weak and didn't even have strength to speak.

22. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Han Fenghua Sent to Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Han Fenghua has been incarcerated in the Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City.

23. [Tongbai County, Henan Province] Ms. Sun Hengying Detained

Ms. Sun Hengying has been held in the Miyang County Detention Center.

24. [Jiaozhou City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhao Congyi Detained; Police Extort 2,000 Yuan

Mr. Zhao Congyi from Daxizhuang Village was arrested by officers from the Jiaodong Police Station on August 27, 2012. He was then held in the Jiaozhou City Detention Center for 15 days. His younger brother went to pick him up on September 12. However, Mr. Zhao was not released until the director of the Jaodong Police Station had extorted 2,000 yuan from his family.

25. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Zhu Yubiao Transferred to Brainwashing Center after Completing 2-Year Prison Term

Mr. Zhu Yubiao is a lawyer from Guangzhou City. He was incarcerated in Beijiang Prison for two years. His family went to the prison to bring him home on the morning of August 17, 2012, when his term expired. However, the prison and the Guangzhou 610 Office authorities would not let them see Mr. Zhu, saying that he had already been transferred to the Sanshui Brainwashing Center. This was not the case at the time. However, Mr. Zhu was transferred to the Sanshui Brainwashing Center later that evening.

26. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Chen Xiumei Taken to Shijiazhuang Women's Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Chen Xiumei was reported to police and then arrested for explaining the facts about Falun Gong to the public in Dongxiantai Village, Xiantai Township, on September 9, 2012. She was taken to the Shijiazhuang Women's Forced Labor Camp the next day.

27. [Taihe County, Anui Province] Mr. He Junling Detained

Mr. He Junling from Taihe County was arrested by officers from the Taihe Police Department and the Shuangfu Police Station on September 11, 2012. His computer, cash, and other items were confiscated from his home. Mr. He is being held in the Taihe County Detention Center.

28. [Wuhan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Xu Yanping and Ms. Sun Xiuqin Arrested

Six agents from the Tangjiadun Police Station and Tangcailu Community in the Jianghan District barged into Ms. Xu Yanping's home on the evening of August 28, 2012. After seeing Falun Gong books and photos of the Falun Gong founder, they arrested Ms. Xu and Ms. Sun Xiuqin and took them to the Tangjiadun Police Station. Police took the two practitioners' photos and forced them to give their fingerprints and sign documents. Ms. Xu and Ms. Sun were released that evening.

On August 30, 2012, eight agents from the Tangjiadun Police Station and Tangcailu Community followed Ms. Xu and barged into her home again. They searched all the rooms, took pictures, and confiscated over 20 Falun Gong books.

29. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Sun Tao Detained for Over 6 Months

Ms. Sun Tao has been detained for more than 6 months. A physical examination showed that Ms. Sun had been healthy before she was sent to the Shijiazhuang City No. 2 Detention Center by officers from the Yuhua Police Station on March 1, 2012. However, since then she has suffered a relapse of Hepatitis B.

30. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Chang Lin Arrested

Ms. Chang Lin was arrested by more than 10 officers on the morning of August 31, 2012.

31. [Anlu City, Hubei Province] Ms. Huang Yali Arrested

Ms. Huang Yali from Anlu City was taken to the Anlu Brainwashing Center by officers from the Domestic Security Division on the morning of September 11, 2012. The door of her home was broken and her home was ransacked. Her computer, printer, photos of Falun Gong founder, Falun Gong books, cash, salary debit card, bank book, and certificate of home ownership were confiscated.

Mr. Li Tianyuan from Yinchuan City was arrested at home on September 5, 2012. He is being held in the Yinchuan City Detention Center.
