(Clearwisdom.net) The fragile woman in this photo is 85 years old and lives in Shiyang Village, Tongdu Town, Dongchuan District, Kunming City, Yunnan Province. For her age, she was quite healthy. However, since her son was illegally sentenced to three years in prison for practicing Falun Gong, she has been overcome with grief. She doesn't eat or sleep, and she has become very weak. Missing her son deeply, she cries for him every day and, as a result, she has lost her eyesight. She has also become bedridden.

Her son, Mr. Hu Guanming, is 46 years old. He was arrested while he was practicing Falun Gong exercises in Dongchuan Square in February, 2000. He was detained for a month, during which his mother called for him throughout the village every evening, using his childhood name, Cunyou: “Come home quickly. Cunyou, come home quickly. Cunyou....” Her voice echoed throughout the village and pained the hearts of everyone who heard her. Mr. Hu went to Tiananmen Square to appeal for Falun Gong in May 2005. Officers from Dongchuan Public Security Bureau took him back to his hometown and detained him for a month, during which his mother also called out for him every evening in the village.

On November 5, 2009, officers from Dongchuan Public Security Bureau Domestic Security Division and local police station ransacked Mr. Hu's home and arrested him. They took some Falun Gong books and informational materials from his home, as well as his motorcycle which they have not returned. They said that Mr. Hu used his motorcycle to put up Falun Gong signs in the area, which was the reason that they took his motorcycle. Dongchuan Public Security Bureau authorities then issued an arrest warrant on December 4, 2009 and arrested Mr. Hu. He was held in Dongchuan Detention Center and family visits were not allowed. Later, they secretly sentenced Mr. Hu to three years in prison without following any legal procedures. A village official informed Mr. Hu's wife in October 2010 that Mr. Hu was going to be taken to Yunnan Province No.1 Prison. The official told Mr. Hu's wife that she could visit her husband. This was the first time that Mr. Hu saw his wife since his arrest a year ago. Mr. Hu was sent to Yunnan Province No. 1 Prison on November 8, 2010. His wife went to the prison twice with their two children to visit Mr. Hu. However, the guards did not allow them to meet. The family still does not know what his situation is and are worried for his safety.
