My family is in a tight financial situation and I worried that my husband would not agree to buy another printer. A few days ago, a practitioner offered some money to go toward producing Falun Gong materials. Because there was no need for other things, I asked the practitioner to buy a color printer for me and I would pay him later, but I did not know when I could pay him back. I decided to discuss this with my husband.
Last night while I was printing Falun Gong materials, I said to my husband that the printer was not functioning very well and I needed a new color printer. He asked me how much it cost. I told him that it would be about 1,300 yuan. He said: “We still owe my sister 4,500 yuan for buying the house. We can think about it after the New Year!” I said: “Would it be all right if a practitioner bought the printer first and we repaid him later?” My husband agreed. I had underestimated my husband's xinxing earlier.
My husband and I married in the autumn of 2003. At that time, our combined monthly salary was 800 yuan. A practitioner told me that I could use an MP3 player to listen to Master's lectures and play exercise music when practicing the exercises. It cost 400 yuan. Initially, my husband did not agree for me to buy it because 400 yuan equaled a month's salary. However, I really wanted to have an MP3 player. I talked to my husband several times. Later, he asked me if I really wanted it. I said yes. Finally, he agreed. I later bought a computer, DVD burner and three MP3 players. Every year I have to pay an Internet fee and I buy printing paper regularly. My husband knows about all of these expenses. When something costs a great deal, I discuss this with my husband in advance and save the money for several months before buying it. When it costs less, he has already given me his implicit consent. My husband's monthly salary increased from 400 yuan to 600 yuan, then 1,000 yuan, and, recently, almost 3,000 yuan. I realized that the more we used our money to validate the Fa, the more Master made arrangements to supply income in other ways.
I also found that when my xinxing was not good, my husband would create difficulties for me, so I have to cultivate myself even better at home. We live with my in-laws and brother-in-law in the same courtyard. When other practitioners came to my home and taught me how to use the computer and printer, I did not want my in-laws to notice because it is a Dafa project. My parents-in-law did not inquire too much. I usually produce Falun Gong materials after midnight. Around two months ago, I produced some materials in the afternoon, and my mother-in-law happened to come to my home. She did not ask me about it, as if she didn't see anything.
We, as practitioners, often treat our families with human attachments, especially an attachment to fear. Our family can stay with us, which is predestined. Master has already arranged our cultivation paths. Our family environment must be right for our cultivation. Whether we develop a Falun Gong material production site or do other Fa-validation things, our family members who do not cultivate need to support our efforts. If they do not support us, then we must have loopholes which are being taken advantage of by the evil.
Some practitioners worry that their families will not allow them to do Fa-validation. They do not even mention Fa-validation things to their family. A fellow practitioner has a computer. Without her family knowing, she bought an Internet access card. The card was fine when tested but she could not make it work after taking it home. It was because she had an attachment of fear with her family, allowing the evil to use her family members against her. If a practitioner worries that his family would not understand him, he erects a cage around his family, so how does he expect his family to make the right decisions? A female practitioner told me: “I am married to him. He should support me. Naturally I can use his money. I also take it for granted that I can spend his money in doing Fa-validation projects.” Of course, as practitioners, we would not spend money arbitrarily, and when we do spend money, we need to do it openly.
I want to say some things to those practitioners who have the ability to buy a computer, go online and produce Falun Gong materials. It is our human attachments which block us and do not provide a chance for our non-practitioner family members to build up their own virtue. Let's let go of our fears and handle things well with our family members. We vowed to assist Master in Fa-rectification in the remote past, and our family members, through their own karmic relationships with us, must have vowed to assist us in doing so. Let us give them that chance by cultivating well and handling our family environment well.
