(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Dong Zhikun, who teaches at Yunnan Forestry Vocational Technical College was sentenced to three years in prison for distributing Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs. He is currently in the Yunnan Province No. 1 Prison. His family is forbidden to visit him. Mr. Dong's wife, Ms. Sun Yonghong wrote to the Yunnan Province Prison Bureau and the Yunnan Province No. 1 Prison on August 9, 2010 requesting to visit Mr. Dong.
Mr. Dong was illegally arrested at noon on February 28, 2009 as he gave Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs to people in Shuanglong Township. Participating in the arrest were officers from the Shuanglong Police Station. Officers from the Panlong Police Department and the Panlong Domestic Security Division ransacked his home at 1:00 a.m. on March 1, 2009. Panlong Police Department announced that he was officially arrested on March 27, 2009. His family received the arrest warrant that same day. Mr. Dong was held in the Panlong District No. 1 Detention Center for 251 days before the sentencing.
Mr. Dong's family went to the Kunming City Intermediate Court on November 25, 2009 to inquire about his circumstances. The court personnel told them that Mr. Dong had been tried and given a three-year prison term. He has been sent to the Yunnan Province No. 1 Prison. Mr. Dong's family has not received a verdict, but was only given a notice of enforcement of judgment.
