(Clearwisdom.net) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 11 provinces. In this report, 9 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 20 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Yang Guang Taken Away from Her home
Around noon on July 19, 2010, more than ten officers from the Hongshan Police Department broke into the home of Ms. Yang Guang in the Hongshan District. They searched it for over an hour and then took Ms. Yang away. Now her whereabouts are unknown.

2. [Changde City, Hunan Province] Ms. Luo Lingzhi Taken to the Changde Brainwashing Center
On the morning of June 23, 2010, 68-year-old Ms. Luo Lingzhi from An Township was taken to the Changde Brainwashing Center after she was arrested by the local police for talking to people about Falun Gong. After being arrested, Ms. Luo went on a hunger strike for four days. Her family went to the 610 Office to ask for her release many times, but their requests were denied.

At 9:30 p.m. on July 13, 2010, officers from the Changyi 610 Office and the Beimeng Police Station went to ransack the home of Ms. Yu Guixia in Zhongli Village, Beimeng Town. They took away a copy of Master Li Hongzhi's picture, an MP3 player, and an incense burner.
5. [Maoming City, Guangdong Province] Additional Information about Ms. Guan Meili
Ms. Guan Meili lives in Dongbian Village, Zhonghai Community, Gaodijie, Maogang District, Maoming City. She was arrested on May 21, 2010. She is now in the Maoming First Detention Center.
6. [Jingmen City, Hubei Province] Three Falun Gong Practitioners Detained
Ms. Li Yanhua was a teacher at the China Construction Third Engineering Bureau Co. in Jingmen City. In 2004, she was sentenced to eight years in prison by Chen Yonggui, deputy secretary of the Jingmen government. Now she has been detained in Wuhan Women's Prison for six years. Her husband, Mr. Chen Qiji, was tortured to death on April 3, 2007, by officers from the Jingmen 610 Office and Fanjiatai Prison. The couple have a son who is now 21 years old.
Mr. Liu Deyu worked in the Jingmen Epidemic Prevention Station. On February 3, 2010, he was sentenced to four years in prison. Now he is in Fanjiatai Prison in Jingmen City.
Mr. Wang Nianxiang, in his 30s, worked for the Kailong Group in Jingmen City. On around June 26, 2010, he was taken to the Hubei Legal System Eduction Center at the Banqiao Brainwashing Center in Wuhan City by officers from the Jingmen 610 Office. In 2001, Mr. Wang was sent to the Shayang Forced Labor Camp because he continued practicing Falun Gong and refused to attend a brainwashing session.
7. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Jing and Other Practitioners Persecuted by the Baoding 610 Office and Domestic Security Police
On June 12, 2010, officers from the Baoding 610 Office and the Domestic Security Team, along with the local police, broke into the home of Ms. Wang Jing and ransacked it. Because Ms. Wang has difficulty walking, the police picked up her husband and took him to the Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp. On the same day, Ms. Zhang Xiaoxia and Ms. Song Ronghua were harassed by police.
8. [Huainan City, Anhui Province] Ms. Xiong Xiaoping Persecuted
On June 10, 2010, Ms. Xiong Xiaoping from the Panji District, Huainan City, was arrested and her home was ransacked. On June 11, 2010, she was taken to the Shijiadian Detention Center in Huainan City.

9. [Yixing City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Zhu Yuchun and Her Mother Sentenced
In June 2009, Ms. Zhu Yuchun was arrested by the local police because she made copies of Falun Gong materials. In March 2010, she was heavily sentenced to four years and six months in prison. Her mother, Ms. Wang Juying, was sentenced to three years in prison. Ms. Zhu is being held in Suzhou Prison, and Ms. Wang in Nantong Prison.
10. [Fuyang City, Anhui Province] Ms. Guo Suhua and Mr. He Jun Arrested
On the morning of July 17, 2010, Ms. Guo Suhua and Mr. He Jun, from Linquan County, Fuyang City, were reported to police when they went to Wadian Town, Linquan County, to distribute Falun Gong materials. They were taken to the Linquan Detention Center by officers from the Wadian Police Station and the Linquan Domestic Security Team.

11. [Jiaohe City, Jilin Province] Ms. Dong Xianrui and Other Persecuted Persecuted and Funds Extorted from Them
On July 11, 2010, Ms. Dong Xianrui, Ms. Xiao Tan, Ms. Cao Shumei and Ms. Wang Rongxia were reported to police while talking to people about Falun Gong. They were taken away by officers from the Minzhu Police Station in Jiaohe City. The next day, they were released after their families each had 3000 yuan extorted from.
12. [Huaian City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Yang Haihong Persecuted
At the beginning of July 2010, Ms. Yang Haihong was arrested. On July 16, 2010, she was transferred to the Huaian Detention Center.
13. [Yutian County, Hebei Province] Mr. Sun Yushan Secretly Taken to the Kaiping Forced Labor Camp in Tangshan City, Hebei Province
On June 23, 2010, Mr. Sun Yutian was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Team of the Yutian Police Department. On July 8, 2010, he was secretly sent to the Kaiping Forced Labor Camp in Tangshan City, Hebei Province.
14. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Mr. Zhou Xijun Persecuted
On January 3, 2002, Mr. Zhou Xijun and two other practitioners were taken to the police station for hanging Falun Gong banners. Shi Hailin beat Mr. Zhou, held him by his hair, and hit his head against a wall. On February 11, 2002, Mr. Zhou was sent to the forced labor camp for one year.
In December 2009, Shi Hailin from the Yushu Domestic Security Team, along with Wang Lai and Zhao Cheng from the Sihe Police Station, went to Mr. Zhou Xijun’s home and harassed him. They took away Dafa books, DVDs and other Falun Gong materials. Mr. Zhou was taken to the police department and released three or four hours later.
15. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Ms. Qin Xiaoli and Ms. Bian Xiaoyun Arrested
On the morning of July 14, 2010, Ms. Qin Xiaoli and Ms. Bian Xiaoyun from the Shuangqiao District, Chengde City, were arrested by officers from the Shuangqiao District 610 Office and the Xidajie Police Station. Their whereabouts are unknown.
16. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Xie Yanmin Detained
Ms. Xie Yanmin is a senior engineer at the Nanjing 14th Station. At the beginning of August 2009, when she went to Beijing on a business trip, she was illegally searched and Falun Gong materials were discovered on her computer. She was arrested and then sentenced to two years in a forced labor camp. She was sent to a forced labor camp in Inner Mongolia by the Beijing police.
17. [Miyi County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Li Yonghui Persecuted
In December 2000, Ms. Li Yonghui was taken to the Binggu Township Brainwashing Center. In the center, she was watched around the clock and was not allowed to sleep. Five days later, she was released after her family forked over 900 yuan.
On August 21, 2001, she was arrested again by officers from the Binggu Police Station for distributing Falun Gong materials. She was taken to the Politics Security Section of the Miyi Police Department. She was handcuffed and hung for more than two hours. On August 26, 2001, she was taken to the detention center.
In August 2002, she was sentenced to four years in prison. On September 26, 2002, she was sent to the Jianyang Women’s Prison.
18. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Gao Mingxia Arrested
On the night of July 12, 2010, Ms. Gao Mingxia was arrested on the way to a fellow practitioner’s home. She is being detained in the Dashan Third Detention Center in Qingdao City.
19. [Miyi County, Sichuan Province] Mr. Xiong Xuecai Persecuted
At 10 a.m. on July 1, 2002, Mr. Xiong Xuecai was arrested on Yakou Street. He was detained in the Binggu Police Station until four o’clock in the afternoon. Later on he was handcuffed to a window in the Politics Security Section. Two domestic security policemen watched him and he was forced to stand until the next morning. After being interrogated by Xiang Jinfa, Mr. Xiong was handcuffed to a safety rail in the hallway. He was not released until 4 p.m., after his family paid out 200 yuan.
In August 2007, Mr. Xiong's home was ransacked and he was detained in the Miyi Detention Center for 10 days. In October 2008 and September 2009, he was arrested twice and detained for 15 days at every time.
