Canadian MP: "It's a Real Dazzling Performance!"

Canadian Member of Parliament Andrew Scheer at the Conexus Arts Center on Saturday April 3.

Andrew Scheer, a Canadian Member of Parliament thought the Shen Yun show was "wonderful."

"It's a really interesting performance, the colours the music, and the dancing all move together so well. It's a real dazzling performance, he said."

He continued, "It's really neat to see some of the old Chinese stories coming through in the dance and the music. These are the kinds of things that all Canadians can enjoy.

"So I think it's important that this type of show gets widely received and I think it will do very well in all the cities because it is such a vibrant, up-beat, dazzling performance with an important story to tell.

"I think it's important for people to be exposed to all different kinds of cultural expressions, and when it's so lively and up-beat, it's certainly enjoyable.

When commenting on the various jumps and flips, as well as the superb choreography, Mr. Scheer noted that "a lot of hard work" went into putting the show together," adding, "It's very encouraging to see such a great group of people."

In closing he said, "Everything is choreographed so well and timed perfectly with the music and you can really see they put a lot of work into it."

"There are some really exceptional dancers there," Says MP

Federal MP Ray Boughen and his wife at the Conexus Arts Center.

Accompanied by his wife, Federal MP Ray Boughen attended the show to get a closer look at Shen Yun's portrayal of 5,000 years of Chinese history and culture on stage.

"I think the show is very, very good," he said.

"There are some really exceptional dancers there, fine musicians, some very good singers too."

Mr. Boughen said that he especially liked the various jumps and aerial techniques in the dance piece, Tibetan Dance of Praise.

"I think the entire show has the value to illustrate the culture of the country," he concluded.

Actress: Shen Yun is a "feast for the eyes"

Greg Stephenson and Jamie at Regina's Shen Yun Performing Arts show on Saturday night.

Jamie, a model as well as a film and television actress attended the show with Greg Stephenson, an engineer.

She said that she thought the show was "amazing, it was a feast for the eyes. The colors were beautiful, the costumes were immaculate, and the dancers were excellent. They moved me for sure."

"Anything with the scarves was just so beautiful, very eye-catching," she added, referring to some dance pieces that use long, flowing sleeves, called "water sleeves" in classical Chinese dance.

Greg particularly drawn to a dance piece called Handkerchiefs.

"The handkerchief performance was absolutely amazing, I had no idea you could do that with cloth. I thought the dance was great.

"Such an extremely high amount of talent and abilities, it was just incredible," said Mr. Stephenson.

He finished by saying that the dance piece depicting the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China was "eye-opening."
