(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 12 provinces. In this report, 14 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 8 practitioners were illegally arrested.

2. [Yuanqu County, Shanxi Province] Ms. An Xiaorun Held at Yuanqu Detention Center
Ms. An Xiaorun, 55, was sentenced to three years of forced labor because she practices Falun Gong. On March 19, 2010, she was reported and arrested by officers from the Public Security Department of the Yuanqu County Police Department. She is being held at the Yuanqu Detention Center. On April 7, 2010, agents from the Yuanqu County Police Department and the 610 Office sent Ms. An to Xindian, Taiyuan City for further persecution.

3. [Beijing] Ms. Wu Yang to Face Trial Again at 9:00 a.m. on April 9, 2010, at Fengtai Court
4. [Shenqiu County, Henan Province] Ms. Liu Suqin Taken to Xinxiang Women's Prison
Ms. Liu Suqin, 60, was arrested by 610 Office agents from Chuanhui District, Zhoukou City, on the morning of September 11, 2009. She was taken to the National Security Division of the Shanan Police Department. Police officers from the National Security Division, led by Wang Yong, later broke into Ms. Liu's home when no one was there. After Ms. Liu was interrogated, she was taken to the Shangshui Detention Center. She was rejected three times by guards at the detention center because she had high blood pressure, heart disease, and diabetes. The 610 Office authorities forced the guards to accept her.
While in the detention center Ms. Liu's health deteriorated. She lost consciousness multiple times and was taken to the hospital for emergency treatment. Despite her condition, she faced trial on December 9, 2010, with agents from the police department and the Procurator present, at the court in Chuanhui District. On January 15, 2010, she was sentenced to three years in prison. On January 27, 2010, she was taken to Xinxiang Women's Prison.
5. [Shandong Province] Update on Ms. Liu Qingrong
Ms. Liu Qingrong, from Zhangjianiuwang Village, Gaoqiao Town, was reported while she distributed Shen Yun DVDs at the market in Niuwang on April 6, 2010. She was arrested by officer Wang Shaobao from the Gaoqiao Town Station. Her home was also ransacked. She has been taken to the Linyi Detention Center.
Ms. Liu Qingrong's husband, Mr. Zhang Guohua, was arrested by officer Wang Shaobao in May 2008. He was sentenced to two years of forced labor and has not been released.
6. [Hebei Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Arrested at a Route 4 Stop in Xushui County
At 5:00 p.m. on March 16, 2010, at a stop on Route 4, Xushui County, Baoding City, a Falun Dafa practitioner was waiting for a car when he was arrested by police officers in a black vehicle. The practitioner's current whereabouts are unknown.
7. [Beijing] Ms. Wang Shulan Mistreated
Ms. Wang Shulan, from Hexia Village, Dachengzi Town, Miyun County, Beijing, was reported to the police on April 7, 2010. She was arrested by police officers from Dachengzi Station of Miyun County.

10. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Update on Ms. Zhang Xuemei
Ms. Zhang Xuemei, from Houchengzi, Yishui County, Linyi City, was noticed while she distributed truth-clarifying materials on March 20, 2010. Her home was ransacked, Falun Dafa books were taken, and 3,000 yuan in cash was confiscated. Ms. Zhang was forced to go to the Section Office of the Department of Legal Affairs, but she has managed to avoid arrest.
11. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Du Zhanxin Arrested
Officers from the Yangshulin Township Station, Nong'an County, along with officers from the National Security Division of Nong'an County, arrested Mr. Du Zhanxin and Ms. Cheng Shiyun in their home on March 24, 2010.
On March 31, 2010, officers from Binhe Township Police Station, Nong'an County, together with the National Security Division, arrested Ms. Zhang Fengxiang, Ms. Zhang Fenghua, and Ms. Wang Min
in their homes.
Ms. Yang Jing, from Beiguan, Nong'an County, was followed, monitored, and arrested when she was clarifying the facts about Falun Dafa to others. In late March, she was held at the Nong'an County Detention Center. Her whereabouts are currently unknown.

12. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Li Arrested
Ms. Wang Li went to Donglin Market, affiliated with the Zhoucun District Hospital, at around 8:20 a.m. on April 7, 2010. She was followed by Ding Qingming from the Zhou Village 610 Office, who arrested and beat her. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

13. [Inner Mongolia] Ms. Li Yulian Dies
Ms. Li Yulian, 39, was an employee of Yuanbaoshankuangda, Pingzhuang Mine Administration Bureau, Baoshan District, Inner Mongolia. In March 2003, agents from the Yuanbaoshan District 610 Office and the National Security Division tried to arrest her. As a result, she was forced to leave town. While she was away, her husband divorced her.
On February 23, 2008, agents from the Lingyuan 610 Office and the National Security Division entered Ms. Li's temporarily residence. Trying to escape, she jumped from the sixth floor of the building and suffered broken vertebrae in her back. Her injury left her unable to take care of herself, and she passed away on December 10, 2009.
14. [Rongcheng City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Hua Sentenced to Forced Labor
On the morning of March 3, 2010, Xing Jianping (female), from the National Security Division of the Rongcheng City Police Department, along with four police officers from Rong'an Station, broke into the home of Mr. Zhang Hua. They confiscated 80,000 yuan in cash along with other property. Mr. Zhang Hua was arrested when he returned home at around noon. He was then taken to the Rongcheng City Detention Center. He was sentenced to forced labor and transfered to the Wangcun Labor Camp in Shandong Province in late March.
15. [Fuzhou City, Fujian Province] Ms. Zhang Liyu Arrested
Ms. Zhang Liyu lives in Cangshan District of Fuzhou City. On the morning of April 5, 2010, she went to Baiyun Village in Yongtai County and was arrested by officers from Baiyun Village Station, because she related the facts about Falun Dafa to others. Under orders from agents from the National Security Division of Fuzhou City, officers from the Yongtai County Police Department detained Ms. Zhang at the Yongtai County Detention Center. On the afternoon of April 6, 2010, over ten people from the Fuzhou City National Security Division, the Yongtai County Police Department, and the Baiyun Village Station broke into and ransacked Ms. Zhang's residence in Fuzhou City.
16. [Chicheng County, Hebei Province] Update on Mr. Chu Zhengyin's Arrest
Mr. Chu Zhengyin, from Chicheng County, is a boiler operator from Fengtai District, Beijing. He was arrested by police officers from Yuquanying Station in Fengtai District, and his home was ransacked around March 20, 2010. He is being detained in a detention center.
17. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Mr. Meng Chu to be Charged
Mr. Meng Chu, from Funing County, Qinhuangdao City, was arrested on September 24, 2009, and is being held at the Funing County Detention Center. His family has not been allowed to visit.
Ms. Pang Xiaohong is being held at the Changli Detention Center.
It has been reported that the procurator planned to transfer the case to the court and try Mr. Meng and Ms. Pang, along with Ms. Wei Shuzhen and Ms. Xu Gongyun, who were released on bail.
18. [Boye County, Hebei Province] Ms. Guo Qiaoxian Taken to Shijiazhuang Forced Labor Camp on April 2, 2010
19. [Guangdong Province] Mr. Feng Manxi Arrested at Fenghuang Village, Fuyong Town, Bao'an District in Shenzhen City on the Morning of April 6, 2010
20. [Jilin Province] Mr. Wang Hongge Tortured in Siping City
It was recently reported that a guard at Shiling Prison, Siping City, ordered inmates to brutally beat Mr. Wang Hongge. Mr. Wang developed symptoms of heart disease from the beatings.
21. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Update on Ms. Zhou Yandong
Ms. Zhou Yandong, from Shuangyang District, Changchun City, was sentenced to one year of forced labor. On April 3, 2010, she was taken to the Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp in Changchun.
22. [Pingchang County, Sichuan Province] Mr. Li Zhanfang and Another Practitioner Arrested
On the afternoon of April 1, 2010, plainclothes police officers, led by Mou Xingfu, an officer from the National Security Division of Pingchang County, entered Mr. Li Zhanfang's daughter's home and arrested Mr. Li Zhanfang and Ms. Li, a relative around the age of 20.
Mr. Li Zhanfang, who is in his fifties, is a retired manager of the Tuxing Town Demand and Supply Cooperative. Mr. Li has been harassed many times by officers from the local police station and the National Security Division since the persecution started in 1999. He was forced to leave home over two years ago.
Ms. Li was a student at Bazhong Normal School. Because she didn't give up Falun Dafa, she was forced to terminate her studies and leave home. Ms. Li's sister recently got married and she went home to visit. She was monitored by the police and arrested.

23. [Luliang County, Yunnan Province] Four Practitioners Including Mr. Liu Shen Arrested
Mr. Liu Shen and his wife Ms. Liang Guofen were arrested at home by the police from Luliang County at around midnight on March 20, 2010. Ms. Li Xiaomei was arrested at around 8:00 a.m. the next morning. There is no information about a third practitioner who was also arrested.
24. [Chongqing] Ms. Wu Xuefang Mistreated
Ms. Wu Xuefang, from No. 5 Section, No. 11 Bureau, Chinese Railway Co., was arrested on September 30, 2007, in Chongqing. She was unable to walk as a result of being brutally mistreated. While dealing with her disability at home, she was frequently harassed by Liu Beiping from the local police. He took away two of her Falun Dafa books.
