(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 9 provinces. In this report, 16 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 20 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Wuhai City, Hubei Province] Ms. Yang Weifang Sent to Brainwashing Center
On the evening of March 29, 2010, several officers from the Hanjiadun Police Station in Qiaokou District, Wuhai City, broke into Ms. Yang Weifang's home. Although Ms. Yang was in her pajamas and slippers, they dragged her to the car. She was taken to the Etouwan Brainwashing Center without shoes that night. Her home was ransacked.
2. [Beijing] Ms. Chen Shulan Sent to Brainwashing Center After Release from Prison
Ms. Chen Shulan from Changping County, Beijing was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison. On March 16, 2010, when she was released after her term expired, she was immediately sent to the Chaofengan Brainwashing Center in Changping County. She has been detained there for 15 days.
Ms. Chen's parents, two brothers and sister were all persecuted to death, and her husband divorced her.

3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhou Yandong Still Detained at Detention Center
4. [ Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, Jilin Province] Mr. Zhai Beiqi's Family Not Allowed to Visit Him
On February 27, 2010, local police and state security agents arrested Mr. Zhang Beiqi in Pingdu City, Shandong Province. On March 5, 2010, he was brought back to Yanjin City, Jilin Province and detained in the Yanjin City Detention Center. Mr. Zhang's family requested visitation but the request was rejected.
5. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Ms. Gong Huadong Detained at Brainwashing Center
On the afternoon of March 28, 2010, Ms. Gong Huadong was reported to the authorities while she was distributing truth-clarification DVDs and was arrested. She was sent to the brainwashing center organized by the Mingyin County 610 Office. She is holding a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention.
Ms. Gong Huadong, 59, is a retiree from the Hengchang Corporation in Mengyin County. After she refused to renounce Falun Gong, she was repeatedly persecuted. Her father and husband have been living under constant threats and fear. Because she has been detained and persecuted so severely, the stress was more then they could bear, and they passed away.
6. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yang Yumei Detained at Brainwashing Center in Fushun City
Ms. Yang Yumei, 38, is a practitioner from Jiashan Township, Zhuanghe City. In December 2009, officers from the Guanjiashan Police Station confiscated her passport and ID from her home. On the afternoon of March 25, 2010, the police came to harass her again but failed after she clarified the truth to them. However, at around 7:00 a.m. the next day, they came to her home and took her into custody. She was then sent to a brainwashing center in Fushun City, Liaoning Province
7. [Nong'an County, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Fengxiang and Two Other Practitioners Arrested
Officers from the Nong'an County Police Department and officials from the Qiantangjia Village, Binhe Township, including Li Jinghong, came to Ms. Zhang Fengxiang and Ms. Wang Min's homes at around 9:00 a.m. on March 31, 2010, and arrested them. They also arrested Ms. Zhang Fenghua while she was on the street. They found Ms. Zhang Fenghua's keys in her pocket and went to her home. They ransacked the place while no one was at home and confiscated Falun Gong books. All three practitioners were detained at the Nong'an County Detention Center.
8. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Guiping Transferred to Local Brainwashing Center from Masanjia Forced Labor Camp
On March 3, 2010, Ms. Wang Guiping's forced labor term at the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp was up, but labor camp officials refused to released her. Fifteen days later, on March 18, 2010, she was sent to a brainwashing center in Fushun City, where she is still being detained.
9. [Tonghe County, Heilongjiang Province] Local Police Arrest Ms. Jiang Shuyuan at Home
While Ms. Jiang Shuyuan was cooking dinner at her home in Nonghe Town, Tonghe County, at around 3:00 p.m. on April 1, 2010, officers from the local police station and the Tonghe County Police Department broke into her home and arrested her. They confiscated her personal belongings, including cash, from her home.
10. [Liaoyuan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Yin Lanhua and Mr. Wang Changyou Recently Sentenced
Ms. Yin Lanhua and Mr. Wang Changyou were recently sentenced and sent to prison or labor camps. Mr. Li Tiekun and Ms. Lu Chunyun are still being detained at the Liaoyuan City Detention Center.
11. [Helong City, Jilin Province] Ms. Liu Weiwei Sentenced to Forced Labor
Ms. Liu Weiwei, 23, is a resident of Helong City. On September 24, 2009, she was arrested
and detained at the Jilin Fourth Detention Center. It was reported that she was later sentenced to one year of forced labor.
12. [Beijing] Officials from Qianjiadian Town 610 Office Forcibly Send Practitioners to Brainwashing Center
Wang Qiang, an official of the Qianjiadian Town 610 Office, along with Hu Jingrong, an official from the Qianjiadian Town government, recently sent Ms. Sun Shuying from Paiziling Village and other female practitioners to the Yanqing Brainwashing Center for three days, against their will. They were forced to sign a guarantee statement and then sent back home.

13. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Feng Xiaomei Forced to Do Hard Labor Despite Severe Persecution
It was reported from the Hebei Province Women's Forced Labor Camp that Ms. Feng Xiaomei has been under severe persecution. Shortly after Chinese New Year's Day, she started urinating blood. In March 2010, she was almost unable to walk and had to be supported by others. The camp guards nonetheless still forced her to do hard labor.
14. [Pizhou City, Jiangsu Province] Officers from Zancheng Town Police Station Arrested Ms. Zhao Rong While She Was Clarifying the Truth on the Afternoon of March 31, 2010

15. [Xi'an City, Shannxi Province] Ms. Gao Caineng and Other Practitioners Arrested
After Ms. Zhao Caifeng from Xi'an City was arrested and Mr. Feng Xingcheng was forced to leave home to avoid persecution, officers from the Domestic Security Division of Yanliang District Police Department arrested Ms. Wang Juan and Ms. Gao Caineng. They were detained at the Gaoling County Detention Center in Xi'an City.

16. [Ya'an City, Sichuan Province] Update on the Arrests of Ms. Wen Xiuying and Other Practitioners
On January 26, 2010, four practitioners from Ya'an City were arrested. Ms. Wen Xiuying and Ms. Jin Wenrong were released 15 days later. Ms. Wang Longying was sentenced to eighteen months of forced labor, and Ms. Li Hanxia was sentenced to one year of forced labor. Both were sent to Nanmusi Forced Labor Camp. Ms. Wang Longying was released three days later, but Ms. Li Hanxia is still being persecuted there.
17. [Qu County, Sichuan Province] Mr. Wang Renwei Arrested and Mr. Deng Hai Still Detained at Detention Center
At around midnight on January 20, 2010, over a dozen officers from the Qu County Police Department broke into Mr. Wang Renwei's home. They ransacked the home and confiscated pictures of the teacher of Falun Gong and several copies of Falun Gong-related magazines. Mr. Wang is being detained at the Qu County Drug Rehabilitation Center.
Mr. Deng Hai was arrested on September 28, 2009, and is being detained at the Qu County Detention Center. Chen Zhongquan (phone 86-13882887723), Party Secretary of Qinglong County, reported Mr. Deng to the authorities.
18. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Xie Liangfu Arrested
Mr. Xie Liangfu, in his sixties, was arrested on April 2, 2010, while he was clarifying truth to people. He was taken to the Lichun Town Police Station. His family and some practitioners went to the police station to request his release but the police station director refused to see them or release Mr. Xie.

21. [Hancheng City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Wang Shangqin and Ms. Yu Shuying Arrested
Mr. Wang Shangqin, 70, and Ms. Yu Shuying, 48, both employees of the Xiangshan Coal Mine, were arrested while they were clarifying truth to people at around 8:00 p.m. on April 1, 2010. They are being held at the Xiangshan Police Station.
