(Clearwisdom.net) The PureInsight website posted the following story. In the 1990s, Shuhua's father and uncle were both more than 80 years old. Her father was a painter and understood the principles of Yin and Yang. Her uncle was two or three years older. In 1996 her 83-year-old father spent his days murmuring: "It's said that now is the time that Buddha would come. Why is he still not here?" Moments before his death, be said to his children: "The Law Wheel is turning. The True Buddha will come. I am unable to wait any longer. When the time comes, make sure you don't miss the opportunity!"
In the years that followed, Shuhua's uncle only had to hear word that a qigong master was in town, and he would immediately go to observe him. After returning he would say, "That wasn't the Truth. A True Buddha that comes to spread the Law and save people would not want money." A year later Falun Gong arrived at their town, and Shuhua went to learn it. She told her uncle, "I just studied Falun Gong. They didn't want money, and I think it is very good." The moment he heard "Law Wheel [Falun]," and that no money was involved, her uncle immediately said, "This is the Truth. I'll also go and study it."
In China, many sayings have been passed down through the ages. A lot of people have heard that during the period of the Law's end, the Heavenly Buddha would come to teach the Fa. People passed down these sayings hoping that when the Buddha did come, their sons and grandsons would not be deluded by the false appearances of the world. Again and again they reminded the next generation, "Make sure you don't miss the golden opportunity." They also taught their children ways to distinguish truth from falsehood. Shuhua's uncle held close the saying, "A True Buddha that comes to spread the Law and save people would not want money." It was a very good method for making that distinction.
Today, a substantial portion of Chinese people perhaps don't believe that Falun Gong is taught out of a sense of responsibility to others, and that it doesn't seek money. That's because the wicked Chinese Communist Party has deceitfully spread lies that Falun Gong uses this or that method to collect money. In fact it only takes one read of Zhuan Falun for people to know the truth of this matter, because the book clearly states that we "...will not charge you a penny."
It's not just inside China, but abroad as well that Falun Gong practitioners follow this principle. For example, at the yearly health expo held in Denmark's third largest city Odense, practitioners operated a stall from February 12 to 14. A Danish woman was surprised to learn that Falun Gong is run by volunteers. She found it almost inconceivable, and asked the practitioners why Falun Gong is taught for free. The practitioners replied that this is according to what is written in the book Zhuan Falun, and told her that promoting Dafa is to benefit people and is not about earning money. She deeply understood, and thanked the practitioners.
These occurrences are pretty common for Falun Gong practitioners, because everyone is following Dafa in their actions, and Dafa clearly spells out that we aren't to use the Fa to earn money. Millions of practitioners around the world have all followed this principle, and none are collecting money from Dafa. There is not another phenomenon like it to be found in the world. Cultivators of Falun Dafa just act in accordance with what is written in the Fa. But we know that this is cultivation, and cultivation is about letting go of the human heart, including the heart of pursuing fame and of pursuing gain. If you collect money, you simply aren't here to cultivate. So naturally you won't be able to lead other people to cultivate, either.
Falun Gong has been persecuted for ten years, but we have always held fast to the principle that we don't collect money from Falun Gong.
