(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 20 cities or counties in 12 provinces. In this report, 23 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 13 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Tongliang County, Chongqing City] Ms. Yang Qin Arrested on the Morning of February 3, 2010, While Distributing Falun Gong Materials in a Grocery Market.
2. [Longhai City, Fujian Province] Mr. Xu Xiaogao Illegally Sentenced.
Mr. Xu Xiaogao from Longhai City has been arrested and held in the Longhai Detention Center for more than six months because he communicated with people about Falun Gong by sending text messages. The Longhai People's Court sentenced him to three years in prison. Mr. Xu filed an appeal however, the Zhangzhou Intermediate's Court upheld the original sentence and issued the sentence document on February 5, 2010. Mr. Xu is still being held in the Longhai Detention Center.

4. [Jiang County, Shanxi Province] Ms. Yang Yuexian Arrested.
Ms. Yang Yuexian, 65 years old, was taken into custody from her home on the afternoon of January 25, 2010.
5. [Puyang City, Henan Province], Mr. Yan Ruiqin and Other Practitioners' Whereabouts Unknown.
Mr. Yan Ruiqin, Ms. Li Xiugai, and Mr. Li Yinzeng from Nanle County were arrested by the local police when the three went to the neighboring town to talk to people about Falun Gong on December 17, 2009, of the lunar calendar. Their whereabouts are unknown.
6. [Dezhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Xiuyun Persecuted in the Jinan Women's Forced Labor Camp.
Ms. Zhang Xiuyun kept practicing the Falun Gong exercises while she was detained in the Jinan Women's Forced Labor Camp. As a result, she was tortured. The guards did not allow her to go to the bathroom or sleep. The guards only gave her one bun for a meal.
7. [She County, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Bin and Other Practitioners Detained.
Mr. Wang Bin, Mr. Zhao Jianfeng, and Ms. Zhang Guiying work in the Tianjin Iron Factory in She County. They were sent to the She County Detention Center after being arrested by the local police. On February 4, 2010, Ms. Zhang was sent to the Shijiazhuang Women's Forced Labor Camp for a two-year term. Mr. Wang and Mr. Zhao were sent to the Handan Forced Labor Camp for two-year terms as well.
8. [Kaili, Guizhou Province] Ms. Duan Zhoujing Transferred to the Inner Mongolia Women's Forced Labor Camp.
Ms. Duan Zhoujing worked in a company in Beijing after graduating from college. On October 1, 2009, she was arrested by officers from the Changping District Police Station in Beijing while she was distributing Falun Gong materials. She was sent to the Fourth Division of the Tiantanghe Women's Forced Labor Camp in the Daxing District of Beijing. On January 21, 2010, she was transferred to the Inner Mongolia Women's Forced Labor Camp.
9. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Lu Qiqi Detained in the Beijiang Prison in Dongguan, Guangdong Province.
In December 2007, Mr. Lu Qiqi was arrested while he was distributing Falun Gong materials in Shenzhen City. The Baoan District Court sentenced him to four years in prison. In April 2009, he was sent to the Beijiang Prison in Dongguan, Guangdong Province.
On March 31, 2009, his wife, Ms. Li Shihong, was taken into custody from their home in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, by officers from the Jiangan 610 Office and the Domestic Security Team of the Jiangan Police Department in Wuhan City. She has been detained in the Wuhan First Detention Center.
10. [Huating County, Gansu Province] Ms. Li Ya Detained in the Congxing County Detention Center, Facing Sentence.
11. [Chongqing City] Mr. Yu Junping Sent to the Chongqing Women's Forced Labor Camp.
Ms. Yu Junping is a retired employee of the Chongqing Chemical Factory. On September 29, 2009, she was arrested by four or five officers from the Banan District Domestic Security Team on the way home from grocery shopping. The police took a computer and Dafa books from her home. She was then sent to the Chongqing Women's Forced Labor Camp for a one-year term.
12. [Yaan City, Sichuan Province] Additional Information about Four Practitioners Arrested Recently.
Ms. Li Hanxia, Ms. Wang Longying, Ms. Wen Xiuying, and Ms. Jin Wenrong, were arrested by officers from the Caoba Police Station while they were talking to people about Falun Gong in Shiping Village, Caoba Town. Now they are being detained in the Duoying Detention Center in Yaan City. Ms. Li Hanxia lives in Shancha Village, Yongxing Town, Mingshan County. Ms. Wang Longying lives in Jianzhao Village, Yongxing Town. Ms. Jin Wenrong lives in Shancha Village, Yongxing Town. Ms. Wen Xiuying lives in Guihua Village, Fengwu Township, Yucheng District, Yaan City. Two days after Ms. Wen was arrested, officers from the Yucheng District Domestic Security Team went to search her home. There was no one at home. The police broke into the house and took away all Falun Dafa books.

13. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Mr. Feng Jifa Arrested by Officers from the Beiying Police Station.
At 3 p.m. on February 3, 2010, Mr. Feng Jifa was reported to the police while he was distributing Shen Yun DVDs. He was arrested by officers from the Beiying Police Station and taken to the Xiaodian District Detention Center.
Mr. Feng, in his 50s, has disabilities. He is almost completely deaf and has difficulty speaking.
14. [Fuxin City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Gao Lianzhen Sentenced to Three Years in Prison.
On the morning of August 22, 2009, Ms. Gao Lianzhen from the Qinghemen District was arrested by officers from the Qinghemen Police Station. After she was interrogated, the police went to ransack her home and took away Falun Gong books, a cell phone, and other property. Later on, she was taken to the Xindi Detention Center in Fuxin City.
On January 21, 2010, the Qinghemen Court illegally sentenced Ms. Gao Lianzhen to three years in prison. She is still being held in the Xindi Detention Center. On February 8, 2010, her family filed an appeal.

15. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Mo Jianshan Searched.
Mr. Mo Jianshan works in the Qitaihe Transportation and Utility Workshop of the Mudanjiang Railroad Section. At 10 a.m. on December 21, 2009, Bai Jingjun, xchief of the Qitaihe Railroad Police Station in Heilongjiang Province, and other officers went to his home with the excuse of just visiting. They had Mr. Mo open the door and then ransacked his home. They took away Dafa books and Falun Gong materials. Mr. Mo was arrested and taken to the Mudanjiang Railroad Police Department. He was released the next day.
16. [Tianjin City] The Ji County Court Illegally Tried Falun Dafa Practitioners.
On February 5, 2010, the Ji County Cour illegally tried Mr. Wen Hongjun, Ms. Sun Shuzhen ,and Ms. Wang Suzhi. At 8:30 a.m., the three practitioners were forced to wear black head covers, handcuffs, shackles and sit in the defendants seats. The public prosecutor accused the three practitioners of producing and distributing about 6000 Shen Yun DVDs and about 8000 cards with words about Falun Gong. Three attorneys defended the practitioners according to the law. The court session could not proceed. The public prosecutor requested an adjournment. Ten minutes later, the judge announced an adjournment.

17. [Jining City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Shujuan Arrested.
Ms. Li Shujuan, 39 years old, is employed in the Zhongqu United Transportation Company in Jining City. At 7 p.m. on February 3, 2010, she was arrested while she was talking people about Falun Gong and distributing Falun Gong materials in the Taidong Wholesale Market in Zhongqu, Jining City. The police took her to the Taibaidonglu Police Station. That night her home was ransacked. The police took her computer, printer, and other property. Two days later, she was transferred to the Jining Detention Center.
18. [Shuangliu County, Sichuan Province] Mr. Deng Xiaoming Detained in Deyang Prison.
Mr. Deng Xiaoming from Huayang Town was sent to the Deyang Prison on October 17, 2009.

19. [Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province] The Doumen District Court Sentenced Mr. Yin Xunzhen and His Family to Prison..
At 3:30 p.m. on January 29, 2010, the Doumen District Court sentenced Mr. Yin Xunzhen to five years in prison; his wife, Ms. Xu Shujie, to six years; and his daughter, Ms. Yin Qi, to three years.
20. [Changde City, Hunan Province] Ms. Fan Ying Sent to the Guangxi Women's Prison.
On August 15, 2008, Ms. Fan Ying was arrested by officers from the Qingxiu District Domestic Security Team in Nanning City, Guangxi Province. She was sentenced to three years in prison. On February 3, 2010, she was sent to the Fifth Division of the Guangxi Women's Prison. The next day her family went to visit her but the prison refused to allow them to see her. It was said that she had been watched by two prisoners around the clock since she arrived at the prison.
21. [Kaiyuan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Chunhong Arrested.
On the night of February 6, 2010, Ms. Li Chunhong was reported to the police while she was talking to people about Falun Gong in a residential area. Jiao Bin and other officers from the Domestic Security Team of the Kaiyuan Police Department arrested her and ransacked her home. They also extorted money from her, saying it was required for a physical examination. Ms. Li is being detained in the Tieling Detention Center.

22. [Jiulongpo District, Chongqing City] Mr. Fu Guangzhu Persecuted.
Mr. Fu Guangzhu is an employee of the Xinan Aluminum Factory. In October 2009, he was arrested and taken to the Huayan Detention Center in Jiulongpo District. The guards extorted 130,000 yuan from his family, claiming he would not be sent to prison but to a forced labor camp.
23. [Caohu City, Anhui Province] Ms. Zhao Bixiu Arrested.
On February 3, 2010, 58-year-old Ms. Zhao Bixiu was reported to the police while she talked to people about Falun Gong in Sanbing Town, Caohu City. On the morning of February 4, 2010, she was brutally taken away from her home by officers from the Jucao Domestic Security Team. Her home was also ransacked. Now she is being held in the Caohu Detention Center.

24. [Nancheng County, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Wan Guohua and Ms. Li Fengxiu Arrested.
At 11 p.m. on January 9, 2010, Mr. Wan Guohua and Ms. Li Fengxiu were arrested while they were distributing Falun Gong materials in Dongguan Township in the Linchuan District. Later on, their homes were also searched. Now they are being detained in the Shangdundu Detention Center in Linchuan City. Their families and the local practitioners went to the detention center to ask for their release. The guards refused to release them with all kinds of excuses and said they would be transferred to the procuratorate.
