(Clearwisdom.net) (By a correspondent in Sichuan Province) Ms. Zhang Juying has suffered repeated persecution due to her practice of Falun Gong. In 2008, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) carried out more severe persecution, using the excuse of creating a safe environment for the Olympic Games. Zhang Juying was first detained at Guanghan Detention Center. Later she was sentenced to four years in prison at the Sichuan Women's Prison in the Yangmahe area of Jianyang City.
This is the second time that Zhang Juying has been sentenced to prison. In September 2004, she was sentenced to three years in the Jianyang Yangmahe Women's prison, where she suffered severe torture. She was released in September 2007.
Zhang Juying is from the tenth village of Jinyu Town in Guanghan City, Sichuan Province. Before she started practicing Falun Gong in October 1998, she suffered from many diseases including uterine fibroid, cervical infection, high blood pressure, sciatica and back pain. The chronic gynecological ailments she suffered from were particularly resistant to medical treatment. She was truly miserable.
One day in October 1998, Ms. Zhang was invited to watch Master Li's lecture videos. On the same day, after watching the video, she no longer had any discharge. After studying the Fa and practicing the exercises, all of her ailments were cured.
On February 20, 2000, when Zhang Juying was practicing the exercises at Qiaotou Park in Guanghan City, police from the Guanghan City, Chengxi police station illegally arrested her. They took her photo and detained her for fifteen days. On March 8, 2000, she attended an experience sharing conference at Chengdu Nanjiao Park and was detained again for another fifteen days.
On July 1, 2000, Zhang Juying went to an experience sharing meeting at Guanghan Qiaotou Park, where she was detained by police from the Guanghan anti-riot office. Official Jiang Tianxing from the 610 Office ordered the anti-riot police to handcuff her to the basketball stand. The next day, Jiang Tianxing and Li Jun, also from the 610 Office, took Ms. Zhang to the Jinyu Police Station. Li Jun kicked her ankles and hit her in the face with a water bottle. They locked the door so that no one could see them when they beat her. They beat her so badly that she vomited blood. When they were finished beating her, they rinsed her clothes in order to cover up the crime. They kept Zhang Juying in handcuffs until 5:00 p.m. that day. She was detained in Guanghan for fifteen days.
Zhang Juying went to appeal in Beijing twice. The first time was on July 17, 2000. She was taken to the Chaoyang District Detention Center, and was later released. The second time was in December 2000. On January 1, 2001, she went to Tiananmen Square in Beijing and shouted, "Falun Dafa is good!" She was arrested, but she was released several days after going on a protest hunger strike.
At 12:30 a.m. on January 18, 2001, over twenty people from the Jinyu Police Station and the Jinyu Town Committee told Ms. Zhang to go to the government building, but she refused. They said, "It's not up to you." Then they took her by force to the Beiwai brainwashing center in Guanghan, where they tortured her for one month. Twelve Falun Gong practitioners were arrested that night.
On April 2, 2001, police from the Jinyu Town Police Station tricked Ms. Zhang into going to the Deyang brainwashing center, where she was detained for nine months. She refused to cooperate with the brainwashing attempts and was transferred to Guanghan Detention Center for another month. After a night at Jinyu Police Station, the police asked her if she would continue to practice Falun Gong. When she answered that she would, they detained her again at Guanghan Detention Center for another month. They sent her back and forth like this several times. Later she shouted "Falun Dafa is good!" in the detention center and walked out two weeks later.
In July 2002, after Zhang Juying joined an experience sharing meeting at a fellow practitioner's house, she was detained for fifteen days by the police and then transferred to Guanghan City's Hexin brainwashing center for another three months.
On September 28, 2004, Zhang Juying and other practitioners went to Zhongjiang County, where they talked to people about Falun Gong. Someone reported them to the police, and the police took Ms. Zhang to the Zhongjiang County Detention Center. She went on a hunger strike to protest, so they force-fed her. The person who force-fed her told her that the mixture they gave her consisted of milk powder, corn powder, salt, chili pepper, black pepper, MSG and water. They force-fed Ms. Zhang for 28 days during the three-month detention. After these three months, they sent her to Guanghan Detention Center, where she was detained for nine more months. Later, she was sentenced to three years in prison and was imprisoned in the Sichuan Women's Prison in the Jianyang Yangmahe area.
In the prison, Zhang Juying refused to wear the prison uniform, answer roll call, or do the forced labor. As a result, she was handcuffed and hung up by a police officer named Deng. Ms. Zhang was kicked, forced to stand for long periods of time, and subjected to sleep deprivation. When the weather was cold, they forced her to stand in the coldest location for several days in a row. Ms. Zhang suffered all kinds of torture and was released on September 27, 2007.
In 2008, Zhang Juying was taken to Guanghan Detention Center. Later she was sentenced to four years in prison and is now imprisoned in the Sichuan Women's Prison in Jianyang of the Yangmahe area.
