(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Dong Limin has been imprisoned for eight years. She suffers from a serious heart problem, her limbs are weak, and she is emaciated. Ms. Dong was illegally sentenced to 14 years in prison in May 2002 by officials from the Jiusan Agricultural and Reclamation Court. She has been in the Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison ever since and is currently in Ward 9.
Ms. Dong was arrested and detained on December 22, 2001 as she distributed information about Falun Gong and the persecution at Nenjiang Farm. She held a hunger strike and was taken to the Jiusan Central Hospital on March 24, 2002. She was able to escape at 11:00 p.m. the next day, but was arrested again on May 22, 2002, and given a 14-year prison term.
During the more than eight years that she was detained in Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison, as a form of persecution, Ms. Dong was kept isolated from others. She was strictly controlled. Several criminals were assigned to monitor her.
She suffers from a serious heart problem, and is unable to move. If she does, her heartbeat accelerates, she becomes short of breath, and her limbs become weak. She is emaciated. Her family tried to apply for a medical parole for her, but the prison authorities refused their request using the excuse that Ms. Dong refuses to cooperate with them.
