(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 23 cities or counties in 12 provinces. In this report, 22 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 30 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Dayang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Liu Yuqiong and Three Other Practitioners Arrested
On the night of October 7, 2010, two couples from Second Division, Shuanglin Village, Yuanjia Town, Jingyang District, Deyang City, Ms. Liu Yuqiong and Mr. Ye Qibing, Ms. Qiu Juyuan and Mr. Liu Ping, went to the board of Lueping Town and Guangfu Town to distribute truth clarifying materials and were arrested by officers from the Lueping Town Police Station. Police officers took informational materials from two motorcycles, went to their homes, and ransacked them on October 8, 2010. They took away Dafa books and materials.

2. [Liaoning Province] Attorney Mr. Wang Yonghang Beaten in Shenyang City Prison
On the night of October 11, 2010, Mr. Wang Yonghang, an attorney who has defended Falun Gong practitioners and is held at No. 18 Ward, Shenyang City Prison Town, was beaten by inmates who were under orders from the guards. He was severely injured. The next morning, the inmates still continued to beat him and later put him into a cell where he was further tortured.
3. [Chongqing] Ms. Hu Kaijun Arrested
In the beginning of October 2010, Ms. Hu Kaijun from the Wanzhou District, Chongqing, was on her way home. On the train to Chongqing, she was arrested by officers from Wanzhou District Police Department. Now she is in Zhoujiaba Detention Center in the Wanzhou District. She was sentenced to one year of forced labor. Soon she will be taken to Chongqing City Women's Forced Labor Camp.
Ms. Hu, in her 50s, is employed by the No. 9 Construction Co., the Wanzhou District Construction Co. Last July, a group of officers from Wanzhou District Police Department stormed into her home and searched her house but found nothing and left. However, police officers assigned individuals to monitor, watch, and harass her for a long time, forcing her to leave home and go to Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region to work. In the beginning of October of this year, she returned home and was arrested by officers from the Wanzhou District Police Department.

4. [Qingyuan County, Liaoning Province] Four Practitioners including Ms. Sun Shuqin Arrested
On the morning of October 15, 2010, practitioners from Hongtoushan, Qingyuan County, including Ms. Sun Shuqin, Ms. Xiu Fang, Ms. Dong Yuzhu, and Mr. Dong Hongyu, were reported when they were clarifying the truth at Beisanjia Township and were arrested by officers from the Beisanjia Police Station. 5. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Arrested
On August 25, 2010, Ms. Zhang, in her 60s, who lives at Hongboyu Garden, Chuanying District, Jilin City, was arrested for distributing truth-clarifying materials and posting materials in the community where she lives. Her home was ransacked. She is now in a detention center in Jilin City.

Ms. Chen Hongli, Mr. Wang Zhixin, and Ms. Ma Yinfeng are still being held in the Qianxi County Detention Center and Zunhua City Detention Center. On October 8, 2010, Ms. Chen was sentenced to four years in prison. She wanted to appeal to the higher court. On October 14, her family went to the detention center to visit her, but they were not allowed in.
Mr. Wang and Ms. Ma were also charged. On October 13, 2010, Mr. Wang's attorney, Lan Zhixue, went to the Qianxi Court to submit the letter of proxy and a letter from the attorney firm. However, Zhao Shengmin, deputy president of the court in charge of this case, rejected it. 8. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] More Information about the Arrest of Three Practitioners
On the morning of October 12, 2010, officers from Xiaochengzi Police Station and from the Domestic Security Division stormed into Ms. Liu Yufang's rented home and found truth-clarifying materials. They called police officers from local police stations, who arrested the couple, Mr. Liu Dianyuan and Ms. Liu Yufang, and took them to the domestic security division. Their son, Mr. Zhao Long, who returned home and was off from the night shift, was also arrested. Without any family members present, they took away two computers, three printers, one DVD burner, a few boxes of paper, a paper cutter, and some personal property.
The same night, Ms. Liu was taken to Chaoyang City Police Department Detention Center. Mr. Liu, in his 70s, was taken to Lingyuan Detention Center but was refused admittance because of his age and weakness. He was released and returned home on bail pending trial. The son was also released.

10. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Hou Yayu and Ms. Xu Xiaolan Sentenced to Forced Labor
On September 18, 2010, Ms. Hou Yayu, Daqing City Oil Recovery Co., and Ms. Xu Xiaolan were taken to Heilongjiang Province Women's Addiction Treatment Camp. Reportedly, Ms. Xu was sentenced to one year of forced labor and Ms. Hou was sentenced to one year and three months of forced labor.
11. [Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Yu Xiaohua Tortured and as a Result Developed High Blood Pressure
On June 7, 2009, Ms. Yu Xiaohua was reported when she was clarifying the truth in Wanbaoshan Township, Anda City. She was arrested by officers from Wanbaoshan Police Station on her way back to Anda City and was detained at the Anda City Detention Center. On June 18, 2010, she was taken to the Heilongjiang Province Addictive Treatment Camp and sentenced to two years of forced labor. Before July 3, 2010, Ms. Yu, Ms. Liu Shuling, and nine other practitioners were tortured. They were all tortured at the same time with the "big hang-up" (1).They were bound to an iron chair and beaten with an electric baton. As a result of the torture, Ms. Liu died. Ms. Yu developed severe high blood pressure and her health is critical. Her family appealed but has not gotten a response.
12. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zhou Guangji and Ms. Wang Jianhui Sentenced to Prison
Mr. Zhou Guangji and Ms. Wang Jianhui, from Daqing City were arrested by officers from Daqing City Police Department, the 610 Office, and Tieren Police Department on February 18, 2010. Later they were held at the Shaqu Detention Center and Daqing Detention Center. Mr. Zhou's older brother went to visit and guards created all sorts of obstacles. He was not allowed to see his brother or to send daily necessities to him.
In the beginning of July, 2010, without notifying the family, a trial was secretly held in Saqu Court. Both Mr. Zhou and Ms. Wang were sentenced to eight years in prison. The two practitioners appealed to the city middle court. Then the verdict was changed and both were sentenced to six years in prison. In August, 2010, Mr. Zhou was taken to Hulan Prison (group training team) and Ms. Wang was taken to Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison.

13. [Beijing] Mr. Li Chaoran and Mr. Li Zhongwei Arrested
Officers from General Logistic Police Station and Wanshou Road Police Station went to ransack Mr. Li Chaoran's home. Mr. Li is an employee of the General Logistic Institute. On October 14, 2010, officers from Wanshou Road Police Station kept Mr. Zhong Liwei in his home for seven hours. They did not leave until 6:00 p.m.

14. [Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province] Mr. Qian Liyun and Ms. Xu Jiaqing Taken to Brainwashing Center
Mr. Qian Liyun from the Xiacheng District, Hangzhou City, in his 60s, was arrested by several men he did not know in front of a securities company on the afternoon of October 13, 2010. He was dragged to a van parked by the side of the road and taken to a brainwashing center. On the morning of October 14, Ms. Xu Jiaqing, 65, from the Xihu District was deceived into opening her door by a person from her previous place of work. Approximately seven people stormed into her home to make her attend a "legal education class" (a brainwashing session). She refused to take to go. Later, they dragged her from her home. Her whereabouts is not clear. Later, it was said that she was sent to study at a "class" in a hotel.
15. [Jiaozuo City, Henan Province] Mr. Wang Wanhying, Mr. Wang Weidong, and Mr. Wu Baoyi Sentenced to Prison and Mr. Zhang Wenwang Forced to Leave Home
Officers from Wen County Police Department in Jiaozuo City and the 610 Office never stop persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. In January 2009, Mr. Wan Wangying, Mr. Wang Weidong, Mr. Wu Baoyi and Mr. Zhang Wenwang were all arrested. Officers stormed into their homes and arrested the three men. Later, they were sentenced to three and a half years. In August, 2009, they were taken to Zhengzhou City Prison, Henan Province. Mr. Zhang was not arrested because he was under the protection of his family and his neighbors. However, he could not return home for fear of being arrested.
Ms. Hu Jufen was also arrested many times. She has avoided staying in her home. Her field remains un-plowed since no one was there to take care of it.
Mr. Wan Wangying's son, Mr. Wang Bicheng, was arrested and detained for a month in January 2009 because he helped his father bring and send materials. Then he lost his job.

Ms. Chen Jizhi and Ms. Chen Youxiang from Changwangzhuang Village, Tuoli Town, Luannan County, were reported when they were clarifying the truth in Baigezhuang and were arrested by officers from Baigezhuang Police Station and Luannan County Domestic Security Division. They are held in the Luannan County Detention Center.

17. [Yinan County, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhao Zihe Arrested at Home
At noon on October 14, 2010, five officers from Yinan County Government and Police Department 610 Office, led by Zhang Fazhuang, secretary of CCP of Jinquangou Village, Puwang Town, went to Jinquangou Village and stormed into Ms. Qin Hongqin's home. She is 45 years old. They searched her home, creating a mess, and planned to arrested her. She escaped. Later, they went to Mr. Zhao Zihe's home in the same village. They tied him up, put him in a police vehicle, and took him away.
18. [Chicheng County, Hebei Province] Four Practitioners including Ms. Sun Fuqin Arrested and Her Home Ransacked
At 6:00 p.m., on October 14, 2010, officers from the Chicheng County Police Department stormed into Ms. Sun Fuqin's home. They arrested her and her husband, Mr. Wang Jun, as well as practitioners who had come to visit, including Ms. Wang Chunmei, Ms. Wang Weihua, and Mr. Li Lianshu. They took them to the police department and held them.

19. [Zoucheng City, Shandong Province] More Information about Ms. Zheng Yun
An employee of Yan Mine Group Co., Ms. Zheng Yun, Zoucheng City, was arrested by officers from Qianquan Police Station when she was distributing truth clarifying materials in the Mazhuang residential area on the eastern side of the city on September 24, 2010. Police officers stormed into her home and ransacked it. They took away expensive property, including her computer. Now she is in the Zoucheng City Detention Center.

20. [Luzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Li Shigui Released after Harassed
Ms. Li Shigui from Huayang in the Jiangyang District, Luzhou City, is a janitor at China Bank, Matan District, Luzhou City. At 4:30 pm. on October 13, 2010, she was arrested and taken to the Luzhou City Detention Center.
On the morning of October 15, 2010, she was taken to the Nanmusi Women's Forced Labor Camp, Zizhong, Sichuan Province. It was said that she was sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor but guards refused to accept her because she did not pass the physical examination. That night she returned home.
Ms. Li is in her 50s. She has been arrested many times and was sentenced to forced labor. Recently, she was taken to Huangjinglaolin Brainwashing Center in Gulin County. A few days after she was released, the610 Officer again arrested her at her workplace.
21. [Jieyang City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Gao Yanpeng and Another Practitioner Arrested
At 2:00 a.m. on October 2, 2010, officers from Chengxi Police Station, Jiedong County, Jieyang City, stormed into Mr. Gao Yanpeng's home and ransacked it. Mr. Gao runs a copy service store. They took a computer and arrested him. He was released that night.
On October 13, 2010, Ms. Yang Xizhi, who lives west of the city in Jiedong County, was arrested and her home was ransacked by officers from Chengxi Police Station. They took cash, valued at 3000 yuan. Now her whereabouts is unclear.

23. [Langfang, Hebei Province] Ms. An Xuezhi Persecuted
On July 22, 1999, Zhu Jiangao, a CCP secretory of a division in Naizifang Village, Langfang Development Zone, called Ms. An Xuezhi to the office of the division. He ordered her to stop practicing Falun Gong, to write a Guarantee Statement, and to hand in her Dafa books.
In April, 2000, Zhu arrested her and took her to the Langfang Brainwashing Center. Each day, he tried her to "transform" her and force her to write the three statements. She was allowed to return home after 15 days. Officers from the police station in the village frequently went to her home to harass her.
During the Olympics in 2008, some people from the village were assigned by officers from the development zone to go to her home and watch her 24 hours a day.
On July 30, 2009, Ms. An went to another village to distribute truth clarifying materials and was reported. She was arrested by officers from Yongledian Police Station, Beijing, and was taken to Qiaozhuang Detention Center in the Tongzhou District. She was held there for a month and sentenced to two years of forced labor. She was taken to Daxing Detention Center in Beijing and then transferred to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in Liaoning Province.

On the morning of October 9, 2010, when Ms. Xu Mingxia was on her way to the downtown section of the county, she was arrested by officers from the Qishan 610 Office and the Fengming Police Station in Qishan. Now she is now in Panjiawan Substation, Weibin District.
25. [Deyang City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Zhou Mingchun Arrested in Guanghan City
Mr. Zhou Mingchun is self employed and runs a business selling drinks at Dongjie Food Market in Deyang City. Mr. Jiang Yiquan is also self employed on the same street. Xie cuts hair. The three were arrested at 10:00 a.m. on October 12, 2010, and detained. That afternoon, police officers from Deyang City went to the homes of these three people and ransacked them. They took lots of personal property, including a printer, a DVD burner, DVD discs, and other materials from Mr. Zhou Mingchun's home.
26. [Wuxue City, Hubei Province] Mr. Chen Zhimeng Transferred to Hubei Province Brainwashing Center
Since the beginning of September 2010, Mr. Chen Zhimeng and Ms. Sun Guihua have been detained. On October 10, Mr. Chen was taken to Hubei Province Brainwashing Center. Ms. Sun is still in the Wuxue City Detention Center.

At 9:00 a.m., on October 14, 2010, Ms. He Fengjin from Kunzhuang Village, Shangcun Town, went to the county police department to ask for the return of her TV that was taken away after a police officer ransacked her home. Because she clarified the truth to officers from the domestic security division, she was held by Jin Guohong, leader of the Domestic Security Division, and is being held at the Suning Detention Center.

28. [Renhuai City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Shi Zhirong Arrested and Held
At 6:00 p.m. on October 5, 2010, the director of Canglong Police Station in Zhongshu Town, Renhuai City, ordered the arrest of Ms. Shi Zhirong from Lingyuanshen, Zhongshu Town. She is 58 years old and was sentenced to four years in prison in 2002. Because she would not give up her faith, she is being held the Renhuai City Detention Center.

(1) "Big hang up" - There are two forms in this torture: (a) With both hands cuffed behind the back and only the toes touching the ground, the victim is hung by a rope that is tied to a metal window frame. (b) One of the victim's hands is cuffed to one bunk bed and the other hand to another bed. The beds are then pulled in opposite directions. This causes extreme pain.
