(Clearwisdom.net) New York-based Shen Yun Performing Arts returned to Florida with the first of two performances at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale. This is the third consecutive year that Shen Yun has performed in Florida.

Mayor Richard Kaplan of the City of Lauderhill attended Shen Yun's first show in Florida this year with his wife, Lynn.

"Very enjoyable," said Mayor Richard Kaplan.

The couple had many positive comments about the show when interviewed during intermission. This was not the first time they had attended Shen Yun's revival of traditional Chinese culture.

"I think it's very nice, very enjoyable. The performers and the musicians are doing an excellent job. It's very colorful, very lively." Mrs. Kaplan said. "I was telling my husband what I noticed and what I love is to come to a show that appeals to so many different ages. It really goes across all age boundaries, and I like that. It appeals to a massive [number of] people rather than [just] one sector. It's [a] beautiful, beautiful production, very talented. I'm jealous I can't dance like that!"

When asked what was their favorite performance so far, they answered together almost in one voice, "Flowing Silk." "I thought was beautiful; it actually looked like they were almost floating butterflies across the stage. It was just lovely." said Mrs. Kaplan. Her husband, Mayor Kaplan, said, "There were a lot of other very nice ones. The one with the story about [the] tiger ["Wu Song Battles the Tiger"] was a very nice one, but I think our favorite was 'Flowing Silk.'"

When asked if they enjoyed learning more about traditional Chinese culture, Mayor Kaplan replied "One of the things we love about living in South Florida is how we're exposed to so many different cultures. There is a Chinese population in South Florida, and we enjoy seeing the roots of their culture as well."
