(Clearwisdom.net) "Here, take a picture of me and Falun Gong!" Two tourists from Hong Kong posed in front of the Falun Gong practitioners who were exercising. Not far away, groups of tourists from China were drawn to the scene. Some of them whispered and some took out their cameras to snap shots of scenes they cannot see in China.
In Taiwan, it has been raining a lot since Typhoon Morakot landed. Many people had an extra day off because of the typhoon. In order to let more people know about Falun Dafa, practitioners in Taipei still held their routine gathering on Sunday August 9 at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in the rain.
Close to 500 practitioners in yellow shirts lined up on the two sides of the Memorial Hall and did the Falun Dafa exercises. On the stairs outside of the Hall, several practitioners held displays entitled "Falun Dafa Worldwide" and "The CCP Illegally Removes Falun Gong Practitioners' Organs While They Are Alive." They wanted to expose the brutal persecution of Falun Gong in China.
With the rain, most of the tourists gathered at the overhang where the practitioners were. Practitioners drew the tourists' attention and sent out their messages of peace. The atmosphere of calm lingered around in the afternoon of this summer day.
The displays contained information about the persecution and pictures of practitioners being tortured to death. In the beginning, tourists from China stood far away looking at the displays. To see more details, they gradually came closer. Some took pictures of all the information on the displays. Several of them could not understand why the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) suppresses such a peaceful group.
Holding Falun Gong fliers in their hands, two young men from Hong Kong told a practitioner they had seen Falun Gong parades in Hong Kong and knew about the persecution. They did not quite know exactly what Falun Gong was. It was their first time seeing that many practitioners exercise together. They were impressed. One of them believed that the reason the CCP suppresses Falun Gong is because the CCP cannot tolerate anything that is good.
An elderly man watched the practitioners for a long time. He said the last time he came to the Memorial Hall, a practitioner gave him a flier. After he got home, he couldn't find anything about the exercise. He came here to learn about it. The man said that belief is something people are free to choose and the CCP will lose people's hearts with such an illegal suppression.
