He said that the DPA show was very different from any other show he had ever seen.

"I would say it is more intense. It draws the audience in and there's a storyline to follow that's both a story as well as a philosophy," he said.

Mr. Davis commented, "The orchestra was phenomenal; I can't say that I have ever heard anything better, and the music was phenomenal, the instruments were very, very interesting."

He told the reporter that he hoped that the DPA show would "come back again and again."

"This was one of the best performances that I have ever seen in my life," Mr. Islam shared enthusiastically. "It was filled with the art, history, rituals, and culture of China."

Mr. Islam thoroughly enjoyed the show, saying, "The costumes were out of this world. It was heavenly. The colors were wonderful. And the orchestra--they were the best I had ever heard. All the music that they played was really great. It was wonderful. If I have to rate the show on a scale of one to ten, I would give them a ten.

"Especially in the costumes, and the music, and their movements--the way they work. In summary, I would have to say this is one of the best shows I have ever seen."

Non-Profit Retiree: "Good Will Always Win Out"

Mrs. Bradley, a retired employee of a not-for-profit organization, and her husband were quite impressed with the show.

"It was great. We bought the tickets at Costco and didn't know what to expect. It was really very lovely and very moving to see the dancers, and the themes they were portraying. It was really very special," Mrs. Bradley said.

She continued, "I think it's important to tell people about the 5,000 years of this [Chinese] culture that they have developed, and how it was shown in the costumes and the people, and how it seemed to offer the people who are being oppressed new hope."

She continued describing one of the scenes. "I thought [that] in the prison scene [Dignity and Compassion] it was very evident, and in the scene [where] people were being persecuted in the village, that no matter what sort of awful things these people brought against the other people, they were victorious over it. It was really very helpful. Good will always win out."

Bringing with him an understanding of other cultures, Mr. Bradley was quite impressed with the opening scene, "The very opening scene, where that's the basis as I understand for all of Chinese culture, that's what Chinese civilization believes was the basis for their entire civilization. And that I found really intriguing, something I didn't know before."

Mr. Bradley watched the movements of the artists with an appreciative eye. "All the movements are very flowing," he said. "The movements are very slow, but they involved a lot of strength at the same time. And that to me was fascinating."

It was not just the inner meaning of the show; this couple also was quite taken with the visual effects and costumes.

"It was very stunning, not just the movements but the costumes were stunning also," Mr. Bradley said.

Mrs. Bradley interjected that she was quite taken by the show's universal messages, "I found a lot of hope in the show. I thought that there was a real feeling that perhaps oppression and ugliness were going to be overcome, and I felt that that was very important."
