(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 22 cities or counties in nine provinces. In this report, 30 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 15 practitioners were "illegally arrested".

1. [Beijing] Ms. Shan Zhiying, in Her 70s, Paralyzed as a Result of Persecution

Officer Zhang Hang from the Bajiao Police Station in the Shijingshan District and Hu Changjiang from the Shijingshan Police Department 610 Office harassed Ms. Shan Zhiying and her husband Mr. He Peikang, who is in his late 70s, at home at the end of June, 2009. The elderly couple lives in Block 27, #11-1102, Bajiao Middle Lane, in the Shijingshan District. The police tried to force Ms. Shan to tell them with whom she has contact and who gives her Falun Gong materials. They even ordered her to lead them to other practitioners. Ms. Shan refused to comply. The police proceeded to ransack the couple's home and intimidated Ms. Shan.

Ms. Shan suddenly became paralyzed, probably as a result of the constant harassment. The police often went to her home, her telephone was tapped, and the street committee personnel also monitored her. Ms. Shan's husband could not withstand the sudden blow. His health is now deteriorating.

2. [Maoming, Guangdong Province] Mr. Wei Jingang Persecuted at a Detention Center

Mr. Wei Jingang from Maoming was arrested for posting informational materials about Falun Gong over three months ago. He is now being held at the Maoming City No. 1 Detention Center, No.10 Ward, where he is forced to work 14 hours a day.

3. [Yanshan County, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Jianli Given an Eight-year Prison Term

Ms. Zhang Jianli, 40, employed by the Qiantong Shopping Center in Yanshan County, was originally from Wuxing Town in the Wuying District, Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province. Yanshan County Police Department officers arrested her on April 8, 2009. Ms. Zhang was tried by the Yanshan County Court on July 28 and she was sentenced to eight years in prison on October 19, 2009.

4. [Weifang, Shandong Province] Mr. Jiang Guobo On a Hunger Strike to Protest the Persecution; Life In Danger

It is reported that Mr. Jiang Guobo, who is currently being held in the Changle Detention Center, is still on a hunger strike. His life is in danger.

5. [Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Ji Baoshan's Family Demands His Release from Hulan Prison; Not Allowed to Visit Him

Mr. Ji Baoshan's mother, father-in-law, his wife and his three-year-old son traveled to Hulan Prison in Harbin City on December 21, 2009 to demand his release. Mr. Ji's mother, in her late 60s, suffered from motion sickness on her way to the prison. When they arrived there, the officials refused to let them visit Mr. Ji.

Mr. Ji has edema, scabies, and symptoms of tuberculosis and is now in the prison hospital. Education and Reform Section head Chen Weiqiang ordered his family to pay for his medical check-ups, including a CT scan. Since Mr. Ji was taken into custody, his family has been penniless, without any source of income.

6. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Follow-up Reports Regarding the Arrest of Six Practitioners Including Ms. Li Ping

A construction site worker reported Ms. Lin Ping and Ms. Zhang Hua as they spoke with people about Falun Gong and the persecution on December 15, 2009. Three patrol officers from the Sandaogou Police Station arrested Ms. Lin and Ms. Zhang and took them to the Sandaogou Police Station. The police found an electricity bill from Ms. Lin. After verifying her identity with the street police station where Ms. Lin's residence is located, the police ransacked her home around 1:00 p.m. on December 16, 2009, confiscating 3,000 yuan cash on which messages about Falun Gong are written, two computers, two printers and Falun Gong materials.

Fellow practitioners went to visit Ms. Lin's family to show their concern after having learned about her arrest. As a result four practitioners were arrested. They are practitioners surnamed Sun, Qu, Yin and Gao. Qu and Yin were released that same night, and Ms. Lin was also sent home in the middle of the night on December 16, 2009 because she had fallen ill.

7. [Jilin Province] Ms. Wu Xiuqin, Ms. Yu Xiuying, Ms. Zhang Xiuxiang and Others Grossly Abused for Refusing to Wear the Prison Uniform

Ms. Wu Xiuqin, Ms. Yu Xiuying, Ms. Zhang Xiuxiang and other Dafa practitioners detained at the Jilin Province Women's Forced Labor Camp refused to wear prison uniforms as a means to protest their illegal detention. The camp guards brutally beat them and shocked them with electric batons.

On March 16, 2009, Ms. Wu and three others refused to wear the prison uniform. No. 4 Division head Guan Wei handcuffed Ms. Wu and physically abused and humiliated her.

Labor camp deputy head Tian Yuan forbade Ms. Wu to eat in the cafeteria on March 18, 2009. Guan Wei shocked her with an electric baton; guard Xu Yan slapped her face, and Han Chunling and others ganged up to strip off her clothes.

Four practitioners started a protest hunger strike at noon on March 18, 2009. Ms. Wu was force-fed on the fourth day of her hunger strike. A prison doctor injected her with four vials of unknown substances and repeatedly inserted a feeding tube into her nose, to torture her. Ms. Wu was forbidden to use the toilet. She was grossly abused until she collapsed.

8. [Tianjin] Ms. Wu Aihua Still Being Held in Custody

Ms. Wu Aihua and Ms. Wu Jin, both in their 50s, met by chance and chatted at the entrance to the Renrenle Supermarket in Tanggu on July 23, 2009. When they exchanged paper currency on which there are messages written about Falun Gong, a plainclothes agent saw it. He called for a police vehicle to take them into custody and interrogated them. The interrogation took place at the Tanggu Police Department's Criminal Police Team No. 8. Ms. Wu was sent to the Tanggu Detention Center. Her home was ransacked that same day. Her son's computer and printer were confiscated, together with her Falun Gong books and some paper currencies displaying Falun Gong messages. Ms. Wu was later placed under administrative detention, but she refused to sign the document. The Team No. 8 officials forced her son to sign the document the next day.

Ms. Zhou Yamin lives in No. 5 Apartment, 661 Lane, Wanhangdu Road, the Jing'an District. She has been missing for two weeks.

Ms. Lin Meijuan, 40, lives in Weifang No.1 Village, the Pudong New District. She was arrested on the afternoon of October 2, 2009 and sent to a forced labor camp for 15 months. This was her third arrest. Her husband is ill, and her daughter is only ten years old. Both need her to take care of them.

12. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Ji Shude and Ms. Ji Junfang, Brother and Sister, Persecuted

Officers from the Hanshan District Police Department and from the Luochengtou Police Station arrested Mr. Ji Shude and Ms. Ji Junfang, brother and sister, at 11:00 a.m. on September 18, 2009. They have been held in custody for over three months.

13. [Anda City, Heilongjiang Province] Additional Information Regarding the Persecution of Mr. Sheng Yanqin

A resident of Qingkepao Township reported Mr. Sheng Yanqin on the evening of December 17, 2009 as she distributed information about Falun Gong there. Qingkepao Township Police Station officers arrested him took him to the Anda City Detention Center. The police confiscated his cell phone, bicycle and other items.

14. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Additional Information Regarding the Arrest of Ms. Li Shuang

Ms. Li Shuang and Ms. Wang Jing and several other practitioners were arrested at their workplace, the Yachen Company, on December 14, 2009. The police confiscated the company's van, several computers used for office work, and bills of financial receivables.

The police also arrested Ms. Li's boss and his wife, both non-practitioners. Their personal valuables were confiscated including an Audi car, a Subaru sedan, a bankcard, and their home-use computer. Their company's accounts were also frozen. They were sent to Hailar, Inner Mongolia for further persecution.

15. [Xingyang, Henan Province] Mr. Ping Chunwang Faces Trial

Suhe Road Police Station officers arrested Mr. Ping Chunwang and took him from Xingyang City to the Sunzhai Detention Center on November 24, 2009. He was transferred to the Sanlizhuang Detention Center. His family was notified that he was to stand trial on December 25, 2009.

16. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Sun Kaoyi and His Wife Ms. Li Shuhong and Others Arrested

Domestic Security Division agents arrested two married couples at their homes at 6:00 a.m. on December 16, 2009. They are Mr. Sun Kaoyi and his wife Ms. Li Shuhong from Sunjia Yangmeng Village in the Hanting District; and Mr. Zhang Jinguo and his wife Ms. Xu Meifang from Angu Village. Mr. Sun and Mr. Zhang were released at dusk on December 17, 2009. Ms. Li and Ms. Xu are being held in the Nansun Township Brainwashing Center.

17. [Linzhou, Henan Province] Two Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Cheng Linfen, Ms. Wu Niu and Mr. Chang Jinde from Jingtou Village, Rencun Town were reported as they distributed information about Falun Gong and the persecution on the afternoon of December 21, 2009 at Wangmu Village. Rencun Police Station officers arrested Ms. Cheng and Ms. Wu. Mr. Chang was able to get away, but the police took his motor-tricycle. The specific circumstances are unclear.

18. [Changsha, Hunan Province] Three Practitioners Held in Custody

Ms. Peng Liang, 39, came across Ms. Mei on the street on December 16, 2009. They went to visit another practitioner at her home. Seven officers from the Pingtang Police Station in the Yuelu District suddenly broke into that practitioner's home and took the three practitioners to the Changsha City Custody Center where the officials refused to accept them. The police then took them to the Changsha City Detention Center. Ms. Mei was not accepted because of injuries sustained during her arrest. Ms. Peng and another practitioner were held in custody.

19. [Chicheng County, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhao Wanrong Stands Trial

Chicheng police arrested Mr. Zhao Wanrong at home on the evening of August 5, 2009 for speaking with people about Falun Gong. The police ransacked his home. He has been held at the Shisanli Detention Center in Zhangjiakou City.

Chicheng County Court officials tried Mr. Zhao on the morning of December 22, 2009; only three non-practitioner family members were allowed to attend the trial.

20. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Hailar Police Arrested Mr. Yan Jiguo and Ms. Wang Jing on the Evening of December 14, 2009

21. [Liaoyuan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Qingwen Arrested and Beaten, Now Released

Domestic Security Division officers led by Gao Yusheng arrested Ms. Wang Qingwen, 67, on November 7, 2009 on her way to a market. They had followed her for over seven months before arresting her. During the arrest Ms. Wang sustained several injuries from a severe beating and an officer kicked and injured her face. She was unable to stand, and her hands and arms were swollen due to the beating. As of December 7, 2009, Ms. Wang has been held at the Liaoyuan City Detention Center for over 40 days. Officials then transported her to the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp, but the labor camp refused to accept her. She has since been released.

On December 22, 2009, police ransacked the home of Ms. Cui Xianling, from Cuijia Village, Houjia Town.

23. [Mengyin, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Qingwei Arrested

A group of plainclothes 610 Office agents went to the Mengyin County No.1 Middle School on the afternoon of December 21, 2009 to arrested teacher Mr. Zhang Qingwei. They found the key to his home on him and proceeded to ransack it. They took a computer, several cell phones, an external disc drive, an MP4, and other items.

24. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Practitioners' Family Members Extorted for Money

When Ms. Lu Jingling from Jixi went to visit her relatives on December 7, 2009, the police found a disc with messages about Falun Gong and the persecution when she changed travel conveyances at Mudanjiang City. She was held at the Mudanjiang Railway Police Station and then sent to local detention center that same night. Ms. Lu returned home on December 11, 2009 and learned that the Mudanjiang Railway Police Station officials had intimidated her daughter, who had to pay over 10, 000 yuan to secure her release.

25. [Chongqing] Ms. Lu Guangxiu Arrested

Ms. Lu Guangxiu, 56, from the Banan District, was arrested on December 14, 2009. It is said that she is being held at the Banan District Detention Center.

26. [Penglai, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Yunhai Subjected to Retaliatory Persecution

Several days ago, the Penglai Court informed Ms. Li Yunhai, 70, to stand trial on December 29, 2009, because Ms. Li had gone to the police department Domestic Security Division to try to have the confiscated items from her home returned. She talked to officer Qu Yitao about Falun Gong and the persecution, and persuaded him not to be involved in the persecution.

27. [Taigu County, Shanxi Province] Seven Practitioners Persecuted

Taigu County police and local police station officers arrested seven practitioners who were studying the Fa together at a practitioner's home at noon on July 7, 2009. The police ransacked the home, and took a personal computer, printer, Falun Gong books and other materials.

Ms. Yang Meiqin was held at the Taigu Detention Center for a month. Taigu County Court officials later sentenced her to three years in prison. She is being held in the Jinzhong Detention Center in Yuci.

28. [Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Tan Guangfeng Goes Missing While Working in Harbin City

Mr. Tan Guangfeng, 42, went mission at 10:00 p.m. in Harbin City on May 1, 2009, as he went out to distribute information about Falun Gong and the persecution. Mr. Tan lives in Bin County, and but was working part time in Harbin City.

29. [Yongqing County, Hebei Province] Ms. Chen Hongfang's Home Ransacked

A group of officers broke into Ms. Chen Hongfang's home in Houyi Township on the morning of December 20, 2009; neither she nor her husband were home [her husband was selling goods at their small store outside their house]. The officers rummaged through the home and took the family's computer and printer.

30. [Inner Mongolia] Ms. Wu Jingli Arrested

Ms. Wu Jingli was arrested in June 2009 and sentenced to two years in prison. No one is helping to take care of her family. Her husband works part time out of town and also tried to take care of their teenager. He suffered mental distress and had a stroke and is now at the Hongshan District No.2 Hospital for emergency treatment. Their 16-year-old is taking care of him at the hospital.
