Mr.Guo Huisheng and his wife were arrested for asking the local police to release a fellow Falun Gong practitioner. He fell into a coma and passed away after being abused by the police.

Oct. 20

They were arrested for distributing Shen Yun (Divine) Performing Arts DVDs. The police had Ms. Qi Shuyan face bashed in, broke her rib, and deprived her of food and water for two days.

Oct. 21

On August 17, 2009, Mr. Li Yong, a Falun Gong practitioner from Xianning City, Hubei Province, was beaten by three local security guards. His condition has continued to deteriorate but he has not been released.

Ms. Zhu Hailing, 28, a Falun Gong practitioner, and her three sisters from Yongji County in Jilin Province were illegally arrested on September 15, 2009 at their family home. Ms. Zhu was sentenced to one year of forced labor.

Oct. 22

Ms. Zhang was arrested, without formal charges or evidence of wrongdoing, by the Domestic Security Team of Changning District Police Precinct in Shanghai, when she was on her way home from shopping in a supermarket on September 8.

Oct. 23

On August 12, 2009, while going to her brother's home, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Xuchun was arrested by the local police. She was later force-fed to the point that she was on the verge of death. Wang Xuchun was eventually released.

In its 2009 Annual Report, the U.S. government's Congressional-Executive Commission on China thoroughly documents the continued and intensified targeting of Falun Gong practitioners by the Chinese security apparatus.

Oct. 24

The 610 Office let the court find Ms. Hu guilt first before the trail. The judge only allowed her to read the first two sentences of her statement.

The defendant, Mr. Shi Honghui, was approached by a process server while visiting Pier 16 in lower Manhattan. Upon being served, Mr. Shi threw the documents to the ground. He later fled the scene in a chartered bus, leaving other members of his party stranded at the pier.
