Hualien County Parliament Members Lin Chun-sheng and Zhao Shi-yuan, Chairperson of the Ji-an Citizen Representatives Committee, Zheng Gan-long, Vice-chairperson You Shu-zhen, Representatives Huang Zhi-yuan, Su Wen-jiang, Huang Zhen-fu, village head of Qing-feng Village Zheng Gao-fu, village head of Ji-an Village Deng Shuang-kui, village head of Yi-chang Village Fan Laixin, village head of Nan-chang Village Pan A-niang, village head of Yongxing Village Yan Yong-hui, head of the aboriginal people in Nan-chang Village Li Jin-quan, Director of Ji-an Township Library Xu Shun-hong, and others attended the ceremony and viewed the artworks. The local media and public television station also sent journalists to report on the exhibit.
Mr. Tian Zhi, Magistrate of Ji-an Township, welcomed the Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance International Art Exhibition as it arrived at Ji-an Township Library. He said the exhibit provides a great opportunity for people in Ji'an Township to see the precious works by Falun Gong practitioners. He said that these works can purify people's minds and help improve morality. Magistrate Tian also said that Falun Gong practitioners pursue justice, bring Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance to the world, and do good deeds in society without seeking reward. Falun Gong practitioners' exposing the Chinese government's actions is a vivid witness to the cruelty of communism and the evil nature of the Chinese Communist Party.
Zheng Gan-long, Chairperson of Ji-an Citizen Representatives Committee, viewed the exhibited works and learned the true story behind the work, I Want Daddy: the little girl in the painting is Fadu and the young woman is Dai Zhizhen. When Fadu was only eight months old, her father Chen Chengyong was persecuted to death in China because he was a Falun Gong practitioner. Since then, Fadu and her mother have traveled to over 40 counties to raise public awareness of the persecution which has caused so many family disasters in China. Mr. Zheng suggested that people promote the exhibition so that more people will know about it, and let more people know about how the CCP persecutes Falun Gong and violates human rights.
Upon viewing the works, Li Jin-quan, head of the aboriginal people in Nan-chang Village, said that it was unacceptable that the CCP is so cruel to kind, innocent people.
One viewer said that he was hurt to see good people who practice Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance persecuted by the CCP. He said he was happy to have the opportunity to learn the truth.
Ren Hongqing, Director of the Special Education Department of Hualien Normal University, said that the arts have the function of educating, and the Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance International Art Exhibition can help people return to high moral levels. Cruelty such as the CCP's persecution is not allowed in free and democratic countries. He feels that the exhibition can influence people in a positive way.
The artworks in the exhibition were created by a group of artists from various backgrounds. Through practicing Falun Gong, they have improved both their mental and physical health. They applied traditional artistic skills to depict righteousness, purity, compassion, and a bright side of the world, which bring viewers peaceful and beautiful messages. The artworks demonstrate the wonderful state of cultivation and expose the current persecution in China, and express the principle that good is rewarded and evil meets with due retribution. The strong spirit of Falun Gong practitioners also shines through in the artworks.
