In September and October, Eight Falun Gong practitioners in Qian'an City, Hebei Province, were arrested by police and their home ransacked.
On September 28, 2007, the 610 Office and the police in all districts of Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province acted in unison arrested more than ten Falun Gong practitioners. The police even dispatched cranes to break into the homes of practitioners through their windows.
- Yang Manzhi Subjected to Death Bed Torture in Benxi Forced Labor Camp
On the afternoon of May 17, 2007, in Benxi Forced Labor Camp, because Mr. Yang Manzhi said he was a Falun Gong practitioner and was not guilty, he was tortured and put into solitary confinement. On May 21, Yang Manzhi was tied to a death bed, naked. He was not untied until May 29. Yang limped for over a month afterwards.
Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zheng Zhicheng, a resident of Shanhaiguan District, Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province, was arrested on March 14, 2007 the 4th time. His wife Ms. Cheng Chao was also arrested the same time. Later his mother, Ms. Zhao Chunhua was arrested on September 26, 2007 and sentenced to 18 months of forced labor.
The wife of imprisoned Falun Gong practitioner Yang Jianpo recounts the dramatic changes he and his family experienced after beginning the practice of Falun Gong. Since the beginning of the persecution in 1999 Yang Jianpo has been repeatedly arrested, imprisoned and tortured. His family has also suffered greetly during this period. In 2006 after being imprisoned and tortured, Yang was described as in 'critical condition' from a number of disorders. Nevertheless, he was sentenced to six additional years for 'disorderly conduct'. His wife has called for his release, but is not allowed even to see him.
A businessman and his wife are continually persecuted and their wealth has been confiscated.
