(Clearwisdom.net) On September 24, 2004, the Falun Dafa truth-clarification materials production site in Fuyang City was destroyed and a score of practitioners were arrested. These practitioners are currently being persecuted by officers from the 610 Office, the National Security Bureau, and the Political and Security section of the police department, as well as by the guards and inmates in the prisons. The perpetrators have denied all family visits to the practitioners and have blocked all information about their treatment and condition. Sources say that the National Security Bureau and the provincial 610 Office carefully planned the September 24 arrests, and these agencies have announced that they will continue to strengthen their persecution against Falun Gong.
The persecution by the Political and Judicial Committee, the National Security Bureau, the 610 Office, and the police department in Fuyang City has been most serious over the past three years. Many practitioners were sentenced to prison or forced labor, jailed, or had money extorted from them. The party secretary in Fuyang City, Hu Liansong, Mayor Liu Qingqiang, Deputy Party Secretary Ms. Shang Jun, former Political and Judicial Committee Secretary Song Jiawei, and former Police Department Chief Meng Qingyin all share direct and undeniable responsibility in the brutal persecution.
Persecution Facts
1. The Persecution at the Anhui Province Women's Labor Camp
The Provincial Women's Labor Camp in Anhui Province has savagely persecuted many practitioners. They were heavily beaten and shocked with electrical batons in the two confinement cells off the dining hall and the multi-purpose room on the second floor of the labor camp. These two cells were specifically used for persecuting steadfast practitioners, among whom were Wu Xiaohua, Shao Bixia, Zhang Lianzhi, and many others. The methods that the labor camp used to "convert" Dafa practitioners (make them renounce their belief) was to force inmates to verbally abuse and humiliate practitioners or punish them by making them stand for extended periods time. They only allowed the practitioners to have 2 to 3 hours of sleep per night and sometimes no sleep at all. As a result, the practitioners' legs and feet became swollen and their backs were very painful. The inmates were encouraged to physically abuse the practitioners at will. Some even hit the practitioners in their private parts, causing severe pain.
The perpetrators directed former practitioners who had enlightened on the wrong path (and renounced Falun Dafa) to bombard the practitioners in groups. They desecrated Dafa with foul language in order to agitate and threaten the steadfast practitioners. They deprived practitioners of sleep for several days in a row, thus forcing them to work in a mentally confused state. After prolonged torture, the practitioners were all extremely tired and weak, and were in a constant fearful and dazed condition. Some broke down mentally. Their elderly parents at home were ill from worrying about their sons or daughters. Children at home feared losing their mothers at any time. Even when the practitioners were released, the villains in the 610 Office were still unwilling to let them be and threatened that they would put them back into the labor camp or even in prisons. 2. Accounts of the Persecution against Individual Practitioners
Ms. Qin Yingpo, 41 years old and living in the family residential area of Fuyang Textile Factory, was arrested by the police and personnel from the Yingquan District 610 Office when they swarmed into her house on September 24. They tortured her in an attempt to force her to give out information on other practitioners, but she refused to comply. Ms. Qin is now jailed in Fuyang City Jail. The head of the 610 Office, Qi Chenggang, threatened to sentence her to prison. Ms. Qin's mother is seriously ill from anxiety. Her young daughter misses her mother all day long. The whole family lives in a state of fear. Ms. Qin was once held in the detention center for 6 to 7 months in January 2001 because of her belief in Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance. She was shackled and handcuffed in the detention center. Her family members were also threatened by the officials during that time.
Practitioner Ms. Wang Jianxia, 43, who lives in the family quarters of Fuyang City Technical School, was arrested from her home by the police and personnel from the National Security Bureau and the 610 Office in their big roundup of September 24. They broke into Ms. Wang's house and took away her Dafa books. They tortured her, attempting to force her to betray fellow practitioners, but she refused to comply. Ms. Wang is now being held in the Fuyang Detention Center. She had been jailed there before in December 1999, and she was held in the Funan Detention Center between July and October 2000. Ms. Wang was jailed again in the Fuyang Detention Center in February 2001 for 6 to 7 months. While in detention she was forced to wear shackles and handcuffs for one to two months. Her husband was also sentenced to five years in prison and their family is currently without any financial support. But the 610 Office, the National Security Bureau, and the police station continuously harassed their family members. Now there is only one child left at home, with no one taking care of him.
Practitioner Ms. Wu Yufeng, 40, who lives in the family quarters in the Fuyang City Light Industrial District was arrested at the truth clarification materials production site and jailed in the Fuyang City Jail. She had been jailed in December of 1999 and was sentenced to one year of forced labor in the Anhui Province Women's Labor Camp. On April 16, 2004, Ms. Wu was sent to a brainwashing class. Her elderly parents repeatedly requested to visit her but were always rejected by the 610 Office.
A female practitioner from Funan who was in her forties and arrested in the September 24 sweep, had previously been persecuted for three years in Changsha Labor Camp in Hunan Province. Police from the Funan County 610 Office and the police department threatened and harassed her after her release. This practitioner was forced to divorce her husband and was forced to stay away from home. She was arrested again when she went to Fuyang City.
Practitioner Mr. Liu Jiahong, 43, of Zhoupeng Town, Fuyang City has been persecuted in the past few years by the police station and the 610 Office in Zhoupong Town. He is now jailed in the detention center where he is being tortured by the police and inmates.
The Perpetrators
Meng Qingyin, approximately 55, former chief of the Fuyang City Police Department and Political and Judicial Committee secretary: He has personally approved the arrest, detention, and search of a few dozen practitioners during the years he was on duty. He is the main person behind the large-scale arrest of practitioners on April 16 and the destruction of the materials production site on September 24. He has committed many crimes against practitioners, which won him approval from his superiors and resulted in his promotion to his present position, deputy secretary of Fuyang City and secretary of the Discipline Committee. (The present chief of the Fuyang City Police Department is Cai Zhaoliang who came from the Provincial Police Bureau in Anhui Province.)
Political and Judicial Committee secretary Liu Yongqing, approximately 55, was formerly the city prosecutor of Fuyang City. He participated in the investigations of many cases that persecuted practitioners.
He Qin, in his late 40s, of the Political and Security Section of Fuyang City Police Department. He has worked hard to help the 610 Office persecute practitioners over the past few years. He has personally persecuted many practitioners, including Liu Jie in Xihu Town. Even today he is still continuing with this misguided persecution. He actively participated in the planning of the large-scale arrest of practitioners on April 16 and the destruction of the materials production site on September 24.
Ouyang Tingzhi, 56 years old, was the manager of the Political and Security Section of the Yingdong District Office of the Fuyan City Police Department. He has persecuted over 30 practitioners while working with the 610 Office and is continuing with his foolish actions. He also participated in the April 16 and September 24 incidents.
Zhang Xianglin, in his upper 40s, is the director of the Yingquan District Office of the Fuyang City Police Department and the district 610 Office. In the past few years, he has followed the direction of the city 610 Office to persecute practitioners. He actively participated in the April 16 and September 24 incidents.
Xiao Mingcai, is the director of the Yingzhou District Office of the Fuyang City Police Department and the district 610 Office. He and a group of people in the Political and Security Section in the Yingzhou District Office have persecuted many practitioners in the past few years and actively participated in the April 16 and September 24 incidents. Yingzhou District is the district with the largest number of practitioners and the most serious persecution.
