Facts of the Persecution

Crimes Committed by Liu Jinwei and Wang Zhenshan in Taonan City, Jilin Province

Liu Jinwei (male) is currently the Political Security Office Head in the Taonan City Police Station, and the Chair of the "610 Office" at the station. He used to be a regular policeman before the persecution of Falun Gong began on July 20, 1999. He was promoted, because he zealously participated in persecuting Falun Gong when the persecution started. He would often arrest Falun Dafa practitioners, ransack their homes, beat them, and set up confidential files, fabricating lies to frame Falun Dafa practitioners. He used collaborators to torture steadfast practitioners. He sent more than thirty practitioners to the Heizuizi Labor Camp, and extended the prison terms of practitioners who would not renounce Falun Dafa. Wang Zhenshan (male) is the Party Political Judiciary Committee vice secretary and also the "610 Office" Chair of the city. He followed Jiang's faction closely and planned many persecution activities in Taonan City. Wang forced those working under him to implement his plans, and checked their results regularly.

A Practitioner's Health Returns After Cultivating Falun Dafa, but She is Persecuted Because She Speaks the Truth

My name is Zheng Xianshu, I am a 65-year-old woman who lives in Xinjin County, Sichuan Province. I went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong on June 20, 2000. I was arrested on June 22 because I did the Falun Gong exercises on Tiananmen Square. I was released that same night. On June 29, 2000, I joined group practice on Jinshanjiao Square in Xinjin County, Chengdu City, and was arrested in the morning. Seventeen fellow practitioners and I were handcuffed and forced to stand under the baking sun outside of the police substation for eight hours. We were detained there for more than 40 days. In September, 2000, I was reported by an unknown person while handing out truth clarification materials in the Fourteenth Village. Policeman Du Youming arrested me, and I was detained for fifteen days. On January 20, 2001, the Dengshuang Township government deceived several of us practitioners, saying they wanted us to "have a meeting" with them, but then arrested us and held us at the police substation. We were freezing on the floor, without any bedding. Starting the next day, seven fellow practitioners and I were detained for a month without any food for the first four days of our detention. My feet were swollen from the cold. On September 25, 2001, I went to distribute truth clarifying materials in the Thirteenth Village with some other practitioners, and we were reported. Policeman Du Youming arrested me again, and I was detained for one month in the substation, and then sent me to the detention center for another month.

Falun Dafa Practitioner, Mr. Kuang Zongyao Relates His Story of Torture in Xinkoipu Labor Camp

My name is Kuang Zongyao, and I'm a resident of Buyunqiao Town, Qidong County, Hunan Province. On November 4, 1999 I was arrested by police, detained more than 40 days, and fined 650 yuan (1). After I had been back home only eight days, the police locked me in a detention center, and sentenced me to eighteen months in the Toukuang Forced Labor Camp in Hengyang City, Hunan Province. I was beaten by malicious people while there, and every day, I had to do hard labor until midnight. Once, a prisoner slapped me so hard that I lost my hearing for three days. After seven months, I was transferred to the Xinkaipu Labor Camp, and they started to torture me the day I arrived. It was in July that the guards locked five of us practitioners in one small cell in hot weather. They forced us to stand facing the wall with our hands against the wall, then put a heating stove in the middle of the cell. The cell was extremely hot, and they would not allow us to sleep until 3 a.m. They still could not reach their goal of brainwashing us, so they sent us to the First Ward, and used two prisoners to monitor each Falun Dafa practitioner, even during mealtime and while using the toilet. The police also forced us to write down the Jiang regimes' "Notice of Punishing Falun Gong," and the "Six Forbidden Activities" (2) posted by the Public Safety Bureau, until 3 a.m. every day.

Account of How Falun Dafa Practitioner, Ms. Zhang Jingyu was Tortured

On July 9, 2000, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhang Jingyu from Yingcheng City, Hubei Province, was arrested by policeman He Zhongping from the Xinji Police Substation, and was detained for fifteen days. On November 11, 2001, Salt Factory Party Secretary Wang Yuanyu (male) led police to arrest her again. They beat Ms. Zhang's mouth, head, legs, and hands with wooden clothes hangers, hung her up by handcuffs from 8 p.m. until the next morning, then sent her to the Yingcheng City Second Detention Center to be detained for fifteen days. On April 11, 2004, policeman He Zhongping arrested Ms. Zhang again and forced her to attend the Wuhan City Brainwashing Class. On July 24, 2002, Wang Yuanyu called the police to arrest Ms. Zhang Jingyu again. On November 9, 2002, policeman Zhang Ping arrested Ms. Zhang from her workplace and took her to the Duan-gang Brainwashing Class. Ms. Zhang went on a hunger strike and was force-fed on the fourth day by six people who restrained her on the bed. On the sixth day, the doctor said her blood pressure and heart rate indicated that her life would be in danger if they continued to force-feed her, but she was force-fed anyway. On February 18, 2003, the police arrested Zhang Jingyu again, forced her to attend the Wuhan Brainwashing Class, and continued to harass her multiple times after she returned home. Her employer withdrew her Chief Engineer Certificate. Ms. Zhang was sentenced to two years in a forced labor camp in 2004, because she clarified the truth about Falun Gong and the persecution to people. She is now being tortured in the Shayang Labor Camp in Hubei Province.

Three Siblings Tortured in Ruyang County, Henan Province

Falun Dafa practitioners Mr. Wu Ben, Mr. Wu Benyuan, and their younger sister, Ms. Wu Xiaohua, started practicing Falun Dafa in 1997. During the 2000 Chinese New Year (February 5, 2000), Wu Benyuan and Wu Xiaohua went to Beijing to clarify the truth, and were detained for six months. Over the 2001 Chinese New Year (January 25, 2001) all three siblings were detained for six months in the Ruyang County Detention Center, because of clarifying the truth, and all three were sentenced to eighteen months in labor camps. After they were released from the labor camps in 2003, Wu Benyuan discovered that both his wife and son had left him, the factory that he owned had been carved up and he was bankrupt, and his house was illegally torn down by the authorities. Wu Benyuan was left penniless, losing all his assets. Wu Ben is an excellent orthopedic doctor, but he was only given an allowance of one or two hundred yuan for living expenses per month. As a result, the three siblings established the Fangguangming Stone-Art Cultural Center, which developed rapidly. Before October 1, 2004, Wu Ben and his younger brother Wu Benyuan went to Yinchuan City, Ningxia Autonomous District for a Stone-Art Expo, where they were arrested by the Ruyang County police and detained in the County Detention Center. Their sister, Wu Xiaohua, was arrested in Loyang City as well. Their business computer, digital camera, printer, etc. were all confiscated by the police. Wu Ben and Wu Benyuan went on a hunger strike to protest. They were force-fed, resulting in internal injuries to Wu Ben. The skin over his whole body has peeled off and his life is in danger. The police released Wu Ben, but Wu Benyuan is still on a hunger strike in the Detention Center. Wu Xiaohua has been interrogated several times under torture. It has been reported that police have fabricated crimes to sentence the three.
