Persecution Facts

After the SARS epidemic broke out, starting from May, the Liuchangshan Forced Labor Camp has used the prevention of the epidemic as an excuse to enforce a total shutoff from the outside world, attempting to force Falun Gong practitioners to give up their belief through even crueler coercion and persecution. More than 20 practitioners resolutely resisted the ruthless torture. Among them, over 10 practitioners have been on hunger strike for about one month, and their lives are in great danger.

The Shanghai Female Forced Labor Camp uses many means to force practitioners to give up their belief. It set up a special team to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. It also established a "backbone" group dedicated to performing brainwashing. They held different kinds of classes, such as English and knitting to attract practitioners' attention. They fabricated all sorts of lies to confuse and threaten practitioners. To force practitioners to renounce their belief, the forced labor camp also placed practitioners in confinement, made the forced labor even harder, allowed the guards take charge of watching practitioners, physically abused the practitioners, and carried out "special seminars" that were full of deception.

The Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp in Jilin Province has persecuted several thousand Dafa practitioners. Over the past few years, their means of persecution has become more and more sinister and rampant. The police officers in the Fourth Brigade are even more frenzied. They carry out both mental and physical torture by means of extortion, brainwashing, sleep deprivation, tying practitioners to metal bed frames, electric shocks, brutal force-feeding and extremely physically demanding labor.

The brainwashing center in Hubei Province instigated former practitioners who turned against Dafa under pressure to persecute Dafa practitioners. They took turns in groups of three to six to deal with a single practitioner by means of intensive verbal abuse, beatings, cursing, threats, and physical punishments, including forcing practitioners to stand, kneel or squat for long periods of time, usually 17 or 18 hours a day. They deprived practitioners of sleep for long periods of time and tortured them relentlessly.

Righteous thoughts and righteous actions encompass Dafa's principles on the level of the human world. Since I left the forced labor camp, through studying the Fa, I returned to the current of Fa-rectification. However, the old forces still wanted to test me. Soon, my husband's workplace exerted pressure on him, saying, "If your wife goes out to distribute Falun Gong information again, you will be fired." For a few days, thoughts of my husband losing his job often appeared in my mind. One day, I suddenly came to understand that my family would not be unable to survive because of my cultivating Dafa. Ever since this thought emerged, no one mentioned the issue of firing him again. The vicious people knew that I was doing Dafa work and threatened to arrest me. All of my friends and relatives tried to persuade me to leave home and hide somewhere. I also thought about fleeing. Then I thought over it with the viewpoint of a Dafa practitioner: Why should I flee? I was doing what a Dafa disciple was supposed to do. How could it be allowed to become an excuse for the evil persecution? I firmly believed that Master would protect me. I doubled my efforts in sending forth righteous thoughts and studying the Fa. After a period of time, my relatives and I became calm again. Because I took this step in a righteous way, I now have a stable environment in which I can do Fa-rectification work. This is the mighty power of Dafa.

Righteous Thoughts and Righteous Actions

Shocking the evil and clarify the facts in the forced labor camp. In January 2001, my spouse was illegally sentenced to re-education through forced labor. The forced labor camp did not allow visits to imprisoned Falun Gong practitioners, even on the camp's designated visiting days. They were not allowed to communicate with their families, and their families were not allowed to even send articles of everyday use to them. I did not want to be restrained by these unreasonable regulations and went to the forced labor camp on every visiting day each month. I knew that my visit wouldn't be in vain even if I just went there to send forth righteous thoughts at a close distance. As long as I stood in front of the force labor camp, the evil would be shocked. They did not allow me to send anything to my spouse, so I sent 100 Yuan instead. When Master's new articles became available, I thought of ways to send them into the camp. At that time, my goal was to suffocate the camp's rampant bluster and support the imprisoned fellow practitioners. In the name of family member, I wrote letters about my family's plight to the labor camp's administrative section and brigades. I used my sincere heart to encourage them to do good. My spouse later told me that the effect was quite good. Using our own experiences and what they witnessed themselves to clarify the facts, they were moved. Each time when I went to the labor camp, I could feel the progress of the Fa-rectification. Those police officers who were originally rampant, fierce and hostile came to change their attitudes. In the beginning of November 2002, my spouse's sentence was almost finished. I called the provincial bureau of re-education through forced labor and the labor camp, asking them whether it was because of the Party's 16th Congress that they would not release people even when their sentences were up. I pointed out that they violated the law. I also went to the police station and the substation of public security to clarify the facts. They were also very angry at the fact that the forced labor camp did not release practitioners after they had served their sentences. They made phone calls to different places and found out in the end that the "610 Office" had given the order to not release practitioners. I cordially told them not to participate in the persecution and try to find a way out to save themselves. On a Sunday morning in November, I took my spouse home without any trouble.
