(Clearwisdom.net) It was past 8:00 p.m. in the late autumn of 2001. I had been forced to become homeless due to the persecution of Falun Gong. I requested a ride from a young taxi driver who had a three-wheel motorcycle on the side of the street and asked him to take me to a rural village.

After we agreed on the price, he smiled as he hung my bike on a metal bar at the back of his vehicle shed and we set out.

As we reached the village, the back wheel of the motorcycle bumped into something and the young man quickly stopped and went down to take a look. "Oh no, your bike is gone!" he shouted as he quickly turned the motorcycle around and accelerated back the same road to look for it. Though we nearly reached our starting point, there was no sign of my bike. He said, "It is very difficult for people nowadays to even steal anything, so I do not expect anyone will give it back to you." I said calmly, "Let's go then." He did not say another word on the way.

When we reached our destination, he dropped me beside a small restaurant. The light from the restaurant shone on his worried face, "Ma'am..." I knew what he was about to say, "How much do I owe you?" Looking at his expression, I smiled, " I had actually planned to go back by bike after finishing this errand, but now I will have to bother you to take me back. You can wait here and I will be back in about half an hour." I walked a few steps, turned around, and said to him, "Don't worry. I practice Falun Gong, so I will not give you any trouble." The young man was surprised with his eyes wide open and didn't say a word.

After twenty-five minutes, I came back from a fellow practitioner's house and he was still waiting for me at the same spot. The first thing he said to me was, "After hearing you say that you practice Falun Gong, I immediately knew you were a good person." I said, "You are responsible for what happened because you did not tie the bike when you hung it on the metal bar. But because I did not remind you to do so, I am responsible too. However, you didn't mean to lose it, so I will not ask you to pay for it. Our Teacher tells us to be selfless good people, and to always think for others. Do not believe the propaganda on TV. They are either lies or frame-ups, and do not have a word of truth." "Now I understand," he said.

When we got back to town, he apologized to me once again. I said, "That's okay. But be careful next time; otherwise, how many extra days of work would you have to do to earn enough money to compensate for a bike?" I pulled out ten Yuan for him. The young man hastily jumped down from the motorcycle and insisted that he would not take any money from me, "I can't thank you enough for not asking me pay for the bike. I cannot take this money."

I said, "After all, you did help me finish my errand. This will count as the payment for your gasoline!" I stuffed the money into his hands, "Young man, remember that Falun Dafa is good. Remember that true Falun Dafa practitioners are all good people. It is wrong for the individuals in the government to persecute Falun Gong. Go back and tell your family not to believe the propaganda on TV. If you can do this, you will have a wonderful future. Then my bike is not lost for naught!"

Under the dim light, I could not see his expression clearly, but I sensed that tears were in his eyes. He held the ten Yuan in his hand and stood there for a long time, watching me walk through darkness and stride toward brightness.
