My dear friends, when you get this statement, I may have already been on Tiananmen Square in Beijing, China raising a banner that says "Falun Dafa Hao" (Falun Dafa is good"). I do not know what is going to happen to me. I just know that this is something I want to do.

Most of you know that I have been practicing Falun Dafa (Falun Gong) for the last two years, a peaceful meditation practice done in parks in the early morning or at home. Some of you supported signing Resolution 188 -- in which the United States Congress condemns China's persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. I thank you deeply from my heart for that -- I know it does make a difference for the people who are struggling between life and death in China. Today I am taking my peaceful appeal all the way to Tiananmen Square -- to shake the foundation of this persecution at the root. Please join me with your mind in this attempt to stand up for goodness.

Why did I decide to raise a banner in Tiananmen Square that says "Falun Dafa is good"?

I am not against China, neither am I against the Chinese government. In fact I love the Chinese culture and the Chinese people. This peaceful appeal is especially for the tens of millions of Chinese who are being persecuted simply for believing in Zhen Shan Ren (Truthfulness, Benevolence and Forbearance) and who do not have a voice to appeal for their rights. The only way for them to appeal to the authorities in charge is similar to what I am doing today -- by raising a banner in Tiananmen Square.

By appealing for the principle they believe in, they put themselves at risk of being beaten, confined in a mental hospital, losing their jobs and families, being locked up in the dark without anyone knowing where they are, or even tortured to death. They do not know if they will live or die, and they have no one to rescue them. Yet, they still stand up for what they believe in peacefully. In the past two and a half years of persecution, not a single practitioner ever raised their hand against the police when they were brutally beaten. Their courage, determination and peacefulness have shown the world the noble spirit of Falun Dafa.

Through practicing Falun Dafa, not only do I deeply embrace the noble principles of Zhen, Shan, Ren, but also I have a much better understanding and appreciation of China's people and culture. How can I then not do anything when these principles and the noble people who uphold them are going through some of the worst persecutions ever encountered in history? And how can we as world citizens just close our eyes to this terrible injustice even if it happens in a far away land?

I have participated in many different appeals, walks, peaceful protests; I have written to different government officials and other organizations to ask for support to stop the brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China. I have used many different methods of raising awareness of the persecution, from passing out flyers in Chinatowns to meeting with US Congress Representatives. Yet I have never been to China. With all these efforts, as well the efforts of many, many others in finding a peaceful solution to this crisis, the persecution continues today, and it is worse then ever.

Today, I appeal directly to Chinese regime responsible for the persecution, telling them deep from my heart that "Falun Dafa is good" -- and hope that they will listen, not just to me, but to the millions in China and abroad who are calling to stop this persecution. Today though, I hope they will listen to me.

The ordinary Chinese citizens do not know the truth about Falun Gong. They even believe that Falun Gong is being persecuted all over the world, the same way it is in China. I want to tell them the truth. I want to tell them from my heart that I practice Falun Gong in America, freely, together with many others and that we enjoy it. They need to know the truth.

Why am I travelling thousands of miles and putting my life at risk simply to stand up for Falun Gong? It is because the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance will prevail and because we need these principles in order to have a better world to live in. Without believing in these principles, humanity will not survive. That is why when Jiang's regime persecutes the best of what our humankind has to offer -- the principles of kindness and goodness, we just cannot close our eyes or look the other way.

I know Falun Dafa is good, because I have been practicing freely in America for over two years. I want to tell this to the Chinese people as well: Falun Dafa Hao.
