Story One: "I will surely go see him at his home after I get out of here."

One rainy day, some Falun Gong practitioners that were illegally held in the Tuanhe Labor Camp and inmates from the conventional crime brigade came to a place to seek shelter from the rain. A short, young boy from the conventional crime brigade was yelled at by the police and was sobbing sadly. He looked like a very honest boy. I asked him if he was sobbing because the police scared him, but he said no. Instead, he said he was sobbing because he had made a request to the police to see one of the Falun Gong practitioners but was denied. I asked what that Falun Gong practitioner had to do with him, and he said that he had been locked together with the practitioner in a work team in the dispatch section a while ago. At that time, he was bedridden with a severe disease and was too weak to stand up or even hold a spoon. The Falun Gong practitioner had taken care of him and fed him daily. Without the care of this practitioner, he would not have been able to survive to this day.

As he told me the story, his eyes were filled with tears as he pointed at this Falun Gong practitioner, a man in his 40's. He said, "I know where he lives. I had asked him before and can still remember. I will surely go see him at his home after I get out of here."

Story Two: "I know I will certainly be able to find her."

Zeng was the assigned monitor of our work team in the Tuanhe Labor Camp. A simple and straightforward man, he was strict with us on the surface but actually took good care of us. I was puzzled and wondered why he was so kind. One day when he was on duty to watch me I had a chance to talk with him. He said he knew that Falun Gong practitioners were good people, and told me the following story about his encounter with Falun Gong practitioners at the labor camp.

Zeng said, "One day I made a mistake by accident. The police suspected that I had made the mistake intentionally and so handcuffed me with my hands behind my back to a heating pipe. In this position, I could not sit down or lie on the ground. After 2-3 days like this and with no food or water and harsh beatings from the police, I almost lost consciousness. One night, just barely conscious, I saw a beautiful girl feeding me some bread. The girl looked like a Celestial Being from a dream. By biting my tongue and gaining a little more consciousness, I saw that there really was a girl feeding me bread, as well as a group of others surrounding and watching me. Seeing that had I come back to my senses, the group all became happy. The girl also smiled and continued to tear the bread into small pieces and put it into my mouth. All of them told me that I needed to take good care of my health.

"When I had regained a bit of my health, the police came back and warned the group not to take care of me. Then they proceeded to beat me in front of everyone. Nevertheless, after the police left, the group continued to feed me with bread and water. They said they were all very worried about my condition. Since I could not even chew the bread, the girl had to chew it for me first before feeding me. Upon hearing this, I broke into tears and had a very blessed feeling rise up in my body."

When Zeng finished his story, I couldn't help shedding tears myself. When I looked at him, I noticed that his own eyes were filled with tears as well.

After a moment of silence, he continued to say, "Afterwards, I learned that they were all Falun Gong practitioners. They had come from other regions to appeal to the government for the freedom to practice Falun Gong. They told me a lot about Falun Gong. This was the first time I had come to know about Falun Gong and felt that what they said was very good. They also read the book Zhuan Falun to me for a very long time. The principle of 'Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance ' and some other things they talked about made a lot of sense to me. At this point, my body stopped hurting. The girl that fed me the bread then said to me, 'If you are willing to learn, I can give you a copy of Zhuan Falun. This is a very precious book.' I told her that I couldn't accept it, because I wouldn't be able to protect it from harm in my current condition. After I got out of there though, I would certainly get in touch with her. The girl said, 'We will meet again if we have a predestined relationship. If you can find me, I will give you a copy of the book.'"

I asked Zeng if he would really look for her. He said firmly, "Absolutely. After I get out of here and earn some travel money, I will go find her. Although I do not know her name or exactly where she lives, I only know the province in southern China she came from, but I know I will certainly be able to find her."
